It turned out that it wasn't that long, but anything could have happened - he was loose and could have been hit by a car, grabbed by a coyote, or picked up by someone not as kind as the people who found him. Imagine landing from a trip and turning on your phone to a message from a strange (but kind!) man with a Santa Barbara area code saying he had your dog that they'd found running scared in the street - my mom was hysterical. They tried to slough it off and when they knew how upset I was, both Kristen & her husband started using rather foul language - they were the ones who lost the dog! I also question if they are licensed to board dogs in a residential neighborhood. I was shocked to find out a day or so later they had asked my mom to pay the entire bill! Incredible nerve after putting her through that trauma. She paid it "as she was afraid they would sue her." I discussed with Kristen calmly and she agreed to reduce it by 50% and refund my mom the difference. Then she started trying to renegotiate and offered only 1 night off "per her business consultant." Kristen has tried to contact my mom repeatedly, including going to her home, after my mom has not responded and I have asked her not to several times, and this is definitely verging on elder abuse. My mom is so upset, she says she'll never travel or board him again. As of today, over 3 weeks later, still no refund to my mom for their incredible negligence. I also noticed, as Brian S. did, that other than my mom's review in Sept, before they lost Reggie and when we still liked & trusted them, all other reviews are very old and refer to the previous owners.

Our regular pup walker is incredible, trustworthy, a great communicator, and very prompt. We are so thankful to have found this great company and highly recommend to others!

The first couple times we used Sitter4Paws we had a really great experience with the sitters that were assigned to our senior, diabetic cat. Last year, my mother unexpectedly passed away, and our regular cat sitter was unavailable for half of the trip home. We booked Sitter4Paws the second half of the trip, and let them know about the circumstances and requested sitters that had seen Jodie before so that we could rest easy during a very difficult time. Of course we know that can't always be accommodated due to scheduling, so for the first visit a new sitter came to see Jodie. On the evening of my mother's passing, we got a text from Sitter4Paws that the sitter felt he may have made a mistake with our cat's insulin dosage. It was revealed to us that instead of giving her her normal 2.25 unit dose, he gave her 22.5 units - ignoring the taped off/labeled syringes, our explicit written instructions in the app, and additional photos/diagrams of what a full syringe should look like. Thank god he realized his mistake, otherwise our cat would have slowly died alone in our apartment - and this would have happened immediately after losing my mom. I understand mistakes can happen, but the fact that a sitter was uncertain with potentially life-threatening medication if administered improperly and didn't even think to reach out to us first was quite shocking. Sitter4Paws took full responsibility, admitted their mistake, said they would take steps to make sure something like this would never happen again, and covered her 4 day ER stay, but it never should have gotten to that point. Again - we did have great sitters who took care of our cat wonderfully - but the uncertainty of who you can get especially with medication involved means that we can no longer recommend this service with confidence.

After just one week, we came in for a training session and already noticed a significant improvement. We then went away for two more weeks, and every single day we received photos, videos, and detailed updates. The communication was exceptional! You can really feel the heart, love, and care they pour into every dog, and that makes all the difference. A special thank you to Casandra and AJ, who are incredible trainers so kind, thoughtful, and genuinely gifted at what they do. They gave our dog the most impactful framework and boundaries, and it's clear they pour their hearts into every animal in their care. That level of dedication is exactly what you want when deciding where to send your dog. We look forward to daycare, continued training, and group dog walks. We are forever grateful to The Bark Collective. We can't recommend them highly enough!

We also just had or first training session with AJ and I'm so excited to implement her training methods that don't require and e-collar. The e-collar is optional and can be used on certain situations, but I saw her techniques with him work without the ecollar.. I'm so glad I scheduled the training session and will continue to schedule training session with her! Her training techniques are soo effective.
