My uncle ended up passing away on 4/13/20 peacefully in his sleep. He started hospice on 3/30/20, he went very quickly and had a peaceful, beautiful, and fast passing right after Easter. No comfort meds needed. RIP uncle ray. He got his wishes to pass at home and not at a hospital or nursing facility. I couldn't imagine him passing at the hospital with no family members around. During covid, they would not allow any family in the hospital. I can't thank Care Choices enough for all of their support from the beginning to the post end. Always checking up on me and my family to make sure we are okay. I had complimentary therapy which helped especially going through it all alone during covid-19 pandemic. I def recommend them to anyone that needs exceptional comfort care for their loved ones. I def recommend any family member to ask for the booklet "Gone from my Sight" (the little blue book) It's a sad but very insightful book that explains the stages and process of death. Thank you Care Choices for being there for us.

Update (April 2026)…read more Compassionate Care Hospice's response illustrates their unprofessionalism and willingness to provide dishonest information. Below are OFFICIAL findings directly from the FINAL report by the California Department of Public Health (Complaint Number 2641478), which indicated that Compassionate Care was being investigated based on multiple serious complaints within a short period of time -- yet it continues to misrepresent the findings by the Department of Public Health. If they spent as much time combating negative reviews by their customers and fabricating disinformation as they do on patient care, maybe they wouldn't have so many one-star reviews to begin with. "The initial plan of care, updated plans of care, initial assessment, comprehensive assessment, updated comprehensive assessments and clinical notes - This STANDARD is NOT MET as evidenced by: Based on record review and staff interviews, the hospice failed to ensure completion of clinical record to reflect the family member's concern regarding a change in the patient's condition. This failure created the potential for not having the patient's current condition to provide necessary care and services for the patients. " "Signed copies of the notice of patient rights in accordance with Section 418.52 and election statement in accordance with Section 418.24 - This STANDARD is NOT MET as evidenced by: Based on staff interview and record review, the hospice failed to ensure the written addendum showing diagnoses and non-covered items was completed with the actual date completed/provided to the patient/family member... This failure had the potential for not having an accurate information on the patient's clinical record." Read the above for yourself and see if you believe the official report found no deficiencies as asserted by Compassionate Care. There is a clear lack of ethics and humanity toward their patients. A simple phone call or email to the grieving family with an apology would have been a good start, and yet they are incapable of admitting their shortcomings and chose to fabricate results of the findings. I urge anyone considering Compassionate Care to contact the California Department of Public Health regarding the complaints and think hard about whether you would want this organization to care for your family member during their last moments.

I have complete confidence in how she supports and cares for our clients when hospice is needed.. She is dedicated, thoughtful, and genuinely committed to offering the very best service. This action would not have been possible without the assistance of Silverado Hospice. Our nurse Didi and Technician Martin were fabulous and was even willing to teach me how to handle all aspects of his care on the days they were not scheduled to see us. The triage nurse was available 24/7 in the event of an emergency or condition causing concern (ie; sudden high temperature, intolerance of prescribed medications, etc). Our Triage nurse, Ashley, whom I called fairly often, was very responsive and provided intelligent medical advice with laywoman terminology that I was able to follow. If the situation required, Ashley would not hesitate to send a nurse out after hours to follow-up with family caregivers to insure the patient was medically stable and take further action if the patient wasn't stable. For those that rated Silverado with less than five stars, I can only offer they had higher expectations and didn't realize they needed to educate themselves of the fact they were going to have to take an active role in their loved one's care and should have considered, instead of hospice, a senior care facility as it is not the protocol of hospice to be on sight 24/7. Doctor's visits were limited but considering the many patients on the Silverado Rolls understandable, but they did make themselves available to their nurses via phone to provide guidance and authorize prescription medications, etc. My husband passed way at the end of May of this year. Silverado Chaplain's and Emotional Support Staff have been in contact frequently to insure that I have all the support needed. While I'm still trying to cope on my own, knowing that they are there and can be here with me with only a quick call is comforting. With Silverado Hospice, I was gifted a year and a half that I wouldn't have had otherwise and I just can't put a price of the extreme value that time afforded me. During our lives we had fallen in love many times. Always with the same person. Thank you Silverado Hospice for another year and a half with my love.

I urge you to carefully consider this before contracting with any hospice provider. Unfortunately, our experience with Faith & Hope made an already painful situation even harder. In April 2025, my mom suffered a massive stroke. She was placed under Continuous Care (CC), which meant she required critical, around-the-clock nursing support. We were told her case would be re-evaluated after three days. However, the care was stopped in less than 24 hours and we were given only 4 hours' notice that services would be discontinued. At that point, it was clear our needs no longer aligned with Faith & Hope's philosophy of care. We scrambled to hire private help on extremely short notice. That night, my mom was in significant pain & experienced agitation. She needed her medication adjusted and an increase of the dosage frequency to help manage her symptoms. The next day, we made final attempts to Faith & Hope to reassess mom's eligibility for CC, even though the on-call night nurse, when we asked, did acknowledge that we were free to seek another hospice provider. We waited all day for a response from Faith & Hope, but heard nothing. Faced with another evening without adequate care, we transferred my mom to a different hospice. They gave us the right care without hesitation. Sadly, our mom passed away only 4 days later. The only positive experience we had with Faith & Hope was with Nurse Theresa. She cared for my mom with compassion, dedication and a true commitment to patient advocacy. Theresa's thoughtfulness and support helped guide my brothers and me through an incredibly challenging time, and for that we are deeply grateful.

I paid $1200 out of pocket, only to find out that the wheelchair was far too large for my mom's small frame. Their referral would not exchange the wheelchair for a smaller size, nor would they refund any of my money for a wheelchair my mom was unable to use. I was stuck with the entire bill of $1200 and they provided no financial assistance whatsoever I ended up donating the wheelchair to the nursing facility. The worst experience of all occurred the day my mom passed away. They delivered my mother's body to the wrong crematorium, which was located approximately 30 minutes from the correct funeral home. lNever received an apology, nor did I receive a call or a single response from them, despite my countless attempts to contact them by phone, email and text. Horrific experience!!! I wish I could give them ZERO stars
