Best choice for OC hospice! As you know, searching for a hospice organization is a daunting task. We are grateful that Valley Oaks was highly recommended to us. They provide amazing care, communication and compassion for the journey with loved ones needing hospice comfort and support. Aram, who is the owner, has an incredible team! Aram and his staff are very responsive. They have walked with us through a challenging journey of Alzheimer's. My husband shares his experience as well: Since my mother has deteriorated rapidly over the last two years, both physically and with memory impairment, we needed to find a solution. We tried hiring caregivers during the day and then my wife and I would support Mom as best we could in the evenings. With her condition progressing, we were exhausted with all of her emerging needs. Thankfully, a friend familiar with elder care recommended Valley Oaks Hospice. We had the impression that hospice was only for the dying but were surprised that hospice could be utilized for those with a long term illness. Once we learned about the care and services Valley Oaks Hospice provides, we chose them to accompany us in our journey with Mom. At every step, the Valley Oaks team has been monumental in providing compassionate care for Mom. They have consistently provided "above and beyond" service with all her physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. Initially, Valley Oaks provided support for my Mom at home, but due to my Mom's deteriorating health, she needed to enter a Board and Care facility. Valley Oaks Hospice transitioned her care to the new location seamlessly. Aram Safarian, the owner and Mom's case manager, guided us every step of the way. Aram is always willing to answer all our questions and concerns. He made us feel it was his Mom being cared for! Not only was Aram great in orchestrating Mom's care, the Valley Oaks team also provided Mom with nurse visits, a shower aid, a social worker, and even a chaplain (Robin is awesome) to assist with spiritual guidance during this season in Mom's life. They also accommodated our request for a podiatrist to address her thick toe nails. Equipment, medicines, and other supplies were often discussed during visits and these were often received the same day. Mom was initially resistant to being aided to shower regularly, however her shower aid Jeaneth was successful in reducing Mom's anxiety and regular bathing is no longer a concern. The dedicated nurses Marco, Rebecca, Martha, and Kathy are amazing as well. They provide updates after each visit and are also helpful for after-hours consultations. All of the Valley Oaks team have that special patience, expertise and compassion needed to provide comfort and support to the memory impaired. We are SO GRATEFUL to Aram and Valley Oaks Hospice! Five stars is not enough! Within 2 hours of my initial call, admissions was at my door. Every day for 3 weeks, my dying father was treated by all staff and nurses with kindness, gentleness, and compassion. Above all, the entire hospice is run with optimum professionalism by owner Aram. This kind man called me almost every day for my updates, needs, and input. I didn't have to call for needs; those were promptly fulfilled. Whatever the need was, Aram arranged it immediately and it happened fast, and with subsequent followup. Aram and his staff were on it 24/7, alleviating undue worry and continually easing the stress of caring for a dying loved one. This enabled me to spend more time with my father and afforded both of us great peace in his final days. These people clearly communicate well among themselves and with the patient. These are the people you want for hospice -- all on target; not one of them missed a beat. And nice! Consistently nice about everything to my father, to me, and under all circumstances. A rare quality that each staff member possesses is the skill of listening, absorbing and processing information, questions, and requests, then addressing each issue with thorough feedback and consistent followup. Such a high standard they adhere to, from the top down. Nurses and other staff arrived on schedule and took care of all needs, then clearly communicated updates to me, and addressed my questions at the end of each visit. Every staff member was exceptional. Nurses Marco and Martha were considerate, knowledgeable, kind, compassionate, extraordinary. I met Nurse Catherine when she confirmed my father's death. She was the nurse, chaplain, social worker, and counselor all wrapped up into one person. She was amazing!! Each of them being individually exceptional encompass a group that as a whole provides incomparable service. I received a condolence card from the staff and kind messages from Aram after my father's death. I will remember them all with gratitude. They are "Heavenly Hospice." I have experienced hospice care before, but this time I found the jackpot. You don't have to look further. This is the one that is galaxies above the rest (not enough stars). From the staff to the services to the supplies, everything is first class all the way. I will always be grateful to each of them for giving so much of themselves so lovingly and generously during this most important time during my father's final days here on earth after living a long, fulfilling life. My mother entered into Valley Oaks Hospice through her health care provider, Kaiser. While in hospice, she was cared for at home, and died as she wanted, surrounded by friends and family in the comfort and familiarity of her own bed. My mother died of complications due to cancer. I'll just say it, End of Life care is fraught with difficulties for everyone: stress, anxiety, deteriorating health, the inevitable loss. I didn't know what to expect during hospice care, how it worked, what services were available. At the moment she shifted from Palliative Care to Hospice Care, Aram Safarian, case manager, reached out and quickly introduced himself and Valley Oaks Hospice. At every step, the team of caregivers at Valley Oaks Hospice were there providing their knowledge, care, compassion, support. Communication was excellent and responsive - there was always a quick response. Equipment was discussed, ordered, arrived and set up before my mother returned home from the hospital. Supplies were ordered and delivered. Medications provided. Physical therapy was provided so that my mother could hold on to her independence just that much longer. As her health deteriorated, staff shifted gear to accommodate the ever increasing and new burdens of cancer. Pain was always monitored and addressed. They kept her clean and comfortable, they kept her morale up. Nearing the end, they knew the exact moment my mother needed continual 24-hour care which would last until she passed away at home. I am so grateful to everyone at Valley Oaks Hospice and feel so incredibly fortunate that of all of the hospice companies in the LA basin, Valley Oaks Hospice was the one who was with my family and I through the toughest part of the journey. Honestly, if I could give them a 10 star review I would. This organization is AMAZING and a Godsend. I interviewed several hospice providers before deciding to move forward with Valley Oaks Hospice. One of the reasons I chose them was because of their personalized service. Many of the larger companies I reviewed had similar benefits, but because Valley Oaks is a smaller provider, I knew we would receive more attention....and I was right. My mother's passing was very difficult for my family, but Marco and Kathy, the primary nurses and their staff took such wonderful care of her and made the transition so comfortable, not only for her, but for all of us. The way they cared for her was so touching. They did everything possible to make sure she didn't suffer. I will be forever grateful for the amazing care they provided for my mother. read more

Valley oaks cared for my 85 year old father who was diagnosed w a terminal illness. From day one at the hospital discharge Valley Oaks was there for support and comfort all the way through. They helped my family get through one of the most difficult times. Their nurses go above and beyond to make sure they provide the best care possible for the patient. They also provided incredible support to my family. They are available 24hrs and never missed a phone call. Unfortunately My father has since passed. Highly Recommend!! I reached out To Valley Oaks Hospice when our family knew hospice was on the horizon for our dad. From my first phone call, Aram was extremely kind, understanding, and helpful. He followed up with me and answered all my questions promptly. When the time came to put hospice in place, Aram acted quickly, and we had services in place within 24 hours. Aram and his team of nurses, home health aides, physical and occupational therapists, social workers, and chaplains have been available whenever we need them, providing the utmost professional and knowledgeable care. I've never been more impressed in my life. Valley Oaks Hospice arrived in my life suddenly -- my brother was in the hospital dying at age 59 and the family could not get in to visit because of covid-19 restrictions. Aram and his team arranged everything to get my brother home and comfortable before he died, which allowed our family the time to say our final goodbyes. I cannot speak highly enough of Valley Oaks. First and foremost the care my mom is receiving is top notch. Nurse Bernadette treats her with attention to every detail. She is so compassionate and fun-- my mom looks forward to their time together, especially when she is able to bring her adorable grandchildren. She comes whenever she is needed! Bernadette and the staff really know my mom (and me) and are responsive to our needs and questions. My mom is also very happy with Rosa who gives her showers, and Luann, a kind caregiver. My grandpa was recently transferred to Valley Oaks Hospice from a larger hospice company and my family was surprised how accommodating they were in comparison to the previous company. We were very thankful for the staff arranging nursing at bedside during his last few days before his passing. This was the main reason why we switched since the other company would not follow through on sending nurses in a timely manner when he was in constant pain.
