Anthony came out. I wasn't sure anyone would be able to complete this job. A handyman said, once he got in, I don't think thithjob is for me. Anthony from Westborn Electric was given the task of replacing a light heater fan combo in the bathroom. I was able to obtain a new one from the 1980s, 1990s still in the sealed box. He was trading one in and trading the other one out. He had to go into the attic and work from up there too. Insert the new box and the insides. Connect them, adjust the light fan heater switch on the wall. It was a big job, two and a half hours. But he was able to install it beautifully. It runs perfectly and I'm very happy with the job Anthony did for me. As a postnote, he said the biggest surprise for him was that I was able to find the exact new unit from 3 decades ago! They're much better made, American. I told him it was the only one in the country and I found it for $50. The install was pricey, but every time I've needed to have electrical work done it's pricey, regardless of what electrician does it. Anthony was personable, respectful and not invasive. I had a soffit taken down in my kitchen and the electric work was beyond our own family capabilities. I called Westborn Electric. They showed up to quote the work on the date they promised. We scheduled the job and they showed up exactly on time. The technician was very friendly, efficient, clean, and professional. It was so nice to receive such excellent service. In addition to adding a light they changed out 6 other canned lights with LED fixtures, replaced an outlet, and capped off an out let that we will not be using. All of this was done in less than one hour and fifteen minutes. I would highly suggest the services of Westborn Electric. read more

I hired this company because of the good reviews, but I had a terrible (and weird) experience. Here's the short version: If you want to overpay for bad quality service and then have them actively duck your calls and avoid you when asked for accountability, Westborn Electric is the company for you. In February, I hired this company to complete the electrical work for a city inspection. The service was very expensive, but I hired them because of their guaranteed quality work. I'm an amenable customer, and really I just wanted the job done right. Among the work they completed, I had them replace the wired interconnected smoke alarms in the home, which they purchased and installed. Shortly after, the alarms began malfunctioning creating false alarms nearly every day (very disruptive and unsafe). When I called the company to have them come out to look at them given the guarantee of their work, they allegedly did so, but they never followed up to explain what issues they had found. I called this company over 10 times asking if someone could please call me back to understand if they had found an issue or what the next steps were. I never received a call back. The weirdest part is when the unhelpful receptionist would actually answer my calls, she would apologize profusely promise "I'll have the electrician call you today." This led to more confusion on my part as I expected every day they would call back, but they never would. I really would have preferred they told me they were unavailable for the job so I could stop wasting my time. calling Again, I called for almost two weeks straight, left many voicemails, and even spoke with the receptionist who promised someone would return my call. No call back. In totality, this was a VERY expensive project I hired them to do. On top of that, the fix was relatively simple, but they chose to duck my calls instead. A simple civil conversation would have been nice. The job was not done right and the company was unwilling to take responsibility in order to remediate the issue. Finally, I hired someone else to come fix the issue. The electrician I hired confirmed the smoke alarms they had sold me and installed were indeed defective. This company is definitely an "AVOID AT ALL COSTS" story I'll be telling for a while. read more

I needed a quote on the new installation of pendant lights in my kitchen. The service man came out on the date and the time they were supposed to be there. They were quick and knowledgeable and let me know everything I could expect. I told him I would think about it and then within a week I had called back and they were back out here and had the job done in less than 40 minutes and now I have two beautiful pendant lights hanging in my kitchen and they were very courteous and professional, and they even clean afterwards. I highly recommend them. Very social and made sure that I was getting what I wanted. I spoke with the office manager and she made sure everything was arranged, and I had no worries or concerns. Big shout out to Cody who came here twice cause I couldn't make up my mind and was very patient, and a big shout out to Mark, the owner who sent him back to my house twice. Everybody there has been fantastic to work with, I highly recommend them. just good guys read more

The guys did a great job, They were prompt, they new what to do with the strange tasks we needed to get done.

I can't speak to the work that this company does. All I know is that I was given a quote that was more than twice the amount of the quote that I got from another electrician (who completed the work quickly and correctly). It might be because of where I was located (Ann Arbor) but highly recommend shopping around before making a final decision. read more

First off, this is for electrical for a pool and everything Westborn Electric did is on camera from my home security system and I have witnesses. I will never recommend Westborn Electric or do business with this place ever again. Extremely rude head electrician along with the owner, Mark. I was told by the owner "He's moving the pump out of the way and trying to extend it around the pool" in a text after the owner yelled at me on the phone to leave this jerk alone, when I have every right to know what is going on in my yard. The head electrician said he wasn't going to move the pump at all, even tho Mark told me he would and the pole they installed- they didn't even cement down. None of their work passed city code. I can't even plug the pool in because it's to far away from the pole because he didn't move the pump like he was told to and I was told he would do. Plugging in the pool and making sure everything is safe was the whole purpose of having them here in the first place and to make sure it passed code. The pole wobbles all over the place. Not safe when u have a ton of kids. By the way- common sense, u don't put an electrical pole in the middle of the yard which is what they wanted to do in the first place, when it becomes a trip hazard with all the kids. The head electrician didn't want to have to dig behind the pool by the tree or move the pump even tho that's what I was told he was doing, which is another reason they wanted to put it in the middle of my yard. Just because u r having a bad day and have 30 years in the business- so what- doesn't mean u take it out on your customers. I did nothing wrong. I offered them water and tried to make sure we were all on the same page which we were not. I never received a written estimate either of exactly what was going to be done, just verbal. The head electrician has a short fuse- not my fault and so what- u do not treat your customers this way and the owner knows he has a short fuse and sent him to my house anyway - why should I have to deal with him? I was nothing but polite to the owner when I met him and to his workers until this head electrician got an attitude - maybe he doesn't like his job and maybe should not be sent out to do work for the owner regardless of why!!! The inspector said the pole had to be moved 6 feet away from pool. He moves it 5 feet and a little and said that's fine. When I called the owner he blocked me because I was telling him how his worker was acting. Very unprofessional and very rude and mean company and an extremely sloppy job and not done according to what the owner texted to me would be done at all. When I asked to have him put paid in full on the receipt instead of just paid he said ugh, hurry up we r late. I didn't have time to do anything with this jerk or ask questions with him down my throat. He had nothing but a bad unprofessional mean attitude. I knew it wasn't going to pass code, but I did my part. The rudest and meanest company I've ever dealt with. The pump has to be moved to be able to plug pool in hence electrical!! They were fined by the city for not following code which includes a re inspection fee when they come out to fix it. Now they must move the electrical pole 1 more foot back which is in my flower bed behind the pool which is completely fine as long as it's away from the kids, safe and not in the middle of my yard. The electrical has to be redone in order for it to pass code. They failed completely! I am so mad, I was told this head electrician guy knew what he was doing, obviously not and customer service is for sure not their strong point. read more
