After having several bad experiences with other dentists, I have finally found one that makes me look forward to my visits. Dr. Ozzie and his staff are top notch. The office manager Janice ALWAYS make you feel welcomed and she treats everyone as if she known them forever. Dr. Ozzie is very thorough and knowledgable. He has corrected mistakes that other dentist have made so that I was finally able to get braces. I bought my daughter for her first visit this past Thursday and the entire staff made her feel very comfortable and she laughed the entire time. The only reason i gave this place one star is because Janice, one of the receptionist was one of the loveliest ladies i've ever met. Im in my early 20's still on my parents dental insurance and for the first time i decided to go to a dentist near my apartment in the west loop instead of going back to the burbs to my usual dentist for my 6 month cleaning. I was seeing Dr. Ozzie, the initial cleaning went fine, i had one cavitie which they filled that day and afterwards i went on my way. A day afterwords i was having some intense pain so i called and they took me in right away, Dr. Ozzie took a look and said he didnt see anything wrong, my teeth were probably just a little sore and to take some Advil. However, the pain continued to get worse so i went back again and Dr. Ozzie took another look and decided to take the filling out and put a new one in. However, the pain continued to intensify so i went back AGAIN! (side note: i take very good care of my teeth and had never had any issues like this before) Dr. Ozzie then told me that i had TMJ and i might need to get braces again. I was really upset, my parents and i could not afford for me to get braces again. So Dr. Ozzie sent me off with that information and i was still in agonizing pain with no relief. I was not able to sleep and i could not eat, my tooth was in so much pain, so finally my Mother told me to call her dentist (that she has been seeing since she was 17) to get his opinion on the situation. Just by explaining to him over the phone what had happened and what i was feeling he was able to determine that the the nerve was dying and i needed a root canal and i probably did not have TMJ. I set up an appointment with him that Monday to start the root canal, i wanted it done as soon as possible i was in so much pain. However, that Sunday my tooth was in an insurmountable amount of pain i could barely move, so i called my mothers dentist in the suburbs and he agreed that he would come in and start the root canal for me. When he went into the tooth he was mortified, he said it was one of the most infected teeth hes ever seen in his career. It was so bad the root canal needed to be done in two parts since there was so much infection. Root canals dont happen to people who go to the dentist every 6 months and care about their teeth, i am convinced Dr. Ozzie did something (accidentally or purposefully) to my tooth which caused weeks of agonizing pain and thousands of dollars in dental bills. I truly believe that Dr. Ozzie was trying to take advantage of my naivety in the situation, and i didnt appreciate it. I followed the positive yelp reviews about West Loop smile studio and in hindsight i regret it. Just keep this review in mind when you're deciding if you should see this dentist. read more

I've been looking for a dentist for a while now. I have a bit of anxiety due to some horrific experiences elsewhere, so I wasn't super excited to get back into the dentist's chair. The overall office is nice- but wow- the amount of air fresheners or candles in there was making me nauseous and was making me wonder what smells they were trying to hide so badly. My shirt smelled like it when I left my consultation. The receptionist is very sweet, as well as the dental assistant, who was very sympathetic to my anxiety, which was really great and what I was looking for. I saw Dr. Lee for a consult and she was ok, however after she did the xrays and the thing where they poke your gums, I wasn't super confident that we were a match. I actually had to point out to her that I had two crowns in the front, one on each side of the middle ones on top. She didn't seem to notice them until I said something, even after she was done with her consult. I was a little surprised by that since one actually has a big crack in it and was one of the things I was hoping to get fixed, in addition to jumping back on the regular cleanings and proactive dental care. Once we established there was work to be done there, I had asked for a breakdown of potential services we discussed so I could think about it. This was given to me without an issue. A couple of other things- once we established that I wanted to have my crowns replaced (it has been more than 15 yrs), she went on to explain that I should get all 4 front teeth done at the same time so they "look better together". My other two teeth are fine and healthy! There was a reason for the crowns on the other teeth, and I just didn't like the suggestion for what seemed to be unnecessary. Dr. Lee was fine with my refusal to do all 4, so at least I didn't feel pressured into it. Dr. Lee listened to me, which was great. I just didn't like the feeling of having to tell her about the crowns in the first place. The other thing that I didn't like was that she had my chair tipped so far back during the consult that my blood was rushing to my head and I was actually lightheaded when I got up. I also found it strange that I did not see any other patients in the office and it was mid-afternoon on a weekday. Overall, I think this place is probably fine for most people who don't have as much work as I will have. We just didn't click. I couldn't take the nauseating smells on top of my anxiety. Maybe other people like it. Not a terrible place, but not one I will be making a follow up appointment for. read more

I was looking for a new dentist in the West Loop area, somewhere close to home and easy to get to. Dr. Grace Lee at West Loop Smile Studio was wonderful. She was very kind and knowledgable and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire appointment. I went in first for xrays and a cleaning, and everything was great. The staff was friendly and the office was very clean. There were tvs in each treatment area also. I then went back to have a cavity filled and was nervous about the novocain injection, but Dr. Lee assured me it wouldn't be too bad and calmed my worries. They also offer a discount for clients who do not have health insurance and pay at the time of service. I recommend Dr Lee and West Loop Smile Studio! read more

First off, this review has been a long time coming. After each visit I always say I'm going to write a Yelp review. My past experiences with dentists are like so many out there. Anxiety, fear and dread. Yes, maybe it's an irrational anxiety, but it's still anxiety. Roll back to spring of 2014. I found West Loop Smile Studio from a provider list under my dental insurance plan. They were close to where I live so I thought I would give them a ring. From the first phone call with the receptionist Janice, I knew this dental experience would be different. I believe that you can always get a feel for how a company is and the experience you'll have based on who that company chooses to interact with patients and how that person interacts with said patients. Well WLSS hit the jackpot here. No better business decision could have been made than choosing Janice as the person who patients interact with initially and at the conclusion of a visit. From the phone call for my initial appointment to the greeting I received my first time there (and every time thereafter) to concluding my appointment(s), Janice went above and beyond what one would expect for customer service. She was warm, friendly, genuine, caring. The best part, she seems to truly love caring for the patients. She sets you at ease and makes you feel like you fit right in and that you should just be there. It's very comforting for someone like me who's had anxiety when it comes to dentists. Janice is unbelievably amazing! Now to the second amazing person. Stephanie the hygienist. From escorting me back to the dentist chair to prepping me for a cleaning or other procedures, Stephanie has this sweet and calming demeanor about her. Very genuine as well. Always smiling and asking how things are going. Another person there who really truly seems to love caring for people. Now onto why I believe West Loop Smile Studio has become and is such an outstanding, above average, exceptional place. There is truth to the saying "It starts at the top". While waiting in the chair for the dentist to arrive, I was on edge just like I normally am in a dentists office. Even with Stephanie's sweet demeanor, of course there was still some residual anxiety. Then Dr. Ozzie walks in. Such a warm, authentic and welcoming person. His bedside manner is matched by no other. It wasn't just straight to business with him. Dr. Ozzie took a few minutes to get to know me, set me at ease, and made me feel that my experience was going to be just fine. And it's been that way from my first visit to all my visits after. He's the same calm, genuine, welcoming and caring person every single time. I would never go to another dentist and if West Loop Smile Studio ever moved their office, I would drive hours and hundreds of miles if I had to just to see them. That's how great they are. I've had my regular cleanings done at WLSS along with having a mouth guard made and porcelain crowns on my front teeth. Not only is the work superior but the most important part and the part that keeps me coming back is the customer service. Great first impression. The staff at West Loop Smile Studio was great. I called after finding them on my list of in-network providers through my insurance. I called on Tuesday, and had an appointment the following Wednesday. Brian the front desk guy was great. He offered me water, coffee, or tea while I filled out the electronic forms. I thought that anything but water was a little odd to be offered at a dental office, but whatever. Mina is the dental assistant and she's very nice. I always have trouble with bitewing xrays, so Stephanie came in (I think she's another dental assistant or dental technician/hygenist) and coaxed me through it. I also liked how they had different sized bite wings, because they really are uncomfortable. Dr. Lee came in next. She's very personable, and explained her findings after reviewing the xrays and examining my mouth. I have two small cavities, and deep pockets. So she said we could do the cleaning today and schedule the fillings for next time because she wanted to keep on schedule for her next patient--which I greatly respect and appreciate. Also, while she was working, they offered me blue tooth headphones for the TV. I thought it was very fancy, but it was nice to have something else to focus on besides the sound of dental tools in my mouth. There WAS a sell about braces--traditional braces, but it was more informative and low pressure. All in all, I think it was a great experience and I'll obviously be going back for my fillings. It's at the corner of Monroe and Morgan, which is very convenient for anyone who lives in the West Loop. I think there's even street parking, so you could drive there too. read more

West Loop Smile Studio is hands-down the BEST dentist office for several reasons but the biggest reason is the staff of incredible people that work there. The front desk staff always welcomes you with a smile and an offering of tea or water- Janice is always extremely warm and accommodating. All of the dental assistants are friendly and gentle when working on your chompers! They remember your name and just put you at ease. I've had many issues with my teeth over the years and have had some bad dental work done and some pretty awful experiences. Dr. Lee has been a godsend to me. Not only is she gentle, thorough, and knowledgeable, but you can tell she genuinely cares about her patients. Since I've ruined a lot of my teeth due to grinding, I have spent many hours in her dentist's chair. She has always provided me with the least invasive options first which I greatly appreciate since fixing your teeth is rather pricey! I would highly recommend this dentist office to anyone who values a cleanly office, prompt service, and just fantastic people who are great at their job!!! read more
