Place is fine for an older hotel.
beds were clean and almost everything was well maintained. the mattress felt cheap but it was serviceable. we had a room facing the loch so it was nice.
some of the grouting was coming off the bathroom tiles.
breakfast servers were attentive, but the standard breakfast didnt really impress. i think some of the food was just packaged food plated to pass off as a cooked meal... or at least it looked like that.
i like the lobby decor, there are old relics from better days of the british empire such as old newspapers framed about the abundance of land in the new world.
i would give it one more star, but we used a luggage transfer service and the hotel just left our bags next to the stairs in an unsecure location. anyone walking by could take the bags. not cool read more
Great friendly service. The room itself wasn't great but since we checked in on arrival and it was the last room available so we were given twin beds. I'd give a better review allowing for the age of the hotel but there shouldn't be any excuse for the beds which were horribly uncomfortable lumpy rocks. If it weren't for the beds I would probably give 4 stars as the service at check-in and the bar was stellar. read more
Review is for the pub: good, fast, friendly and attentive service from colorful local staff, wide selection(including an extensive kids menu), generous portions. I had the steak and ale pie and it was very good. Highly recommend. read more
