It's location is amazing, and I would recommend this to anyone staying in the Fort William area. It's a beautiful old house - so it has it's quircks (the hot water took some time to figure out). This was our favourite place to stay along the West Highland Way, but I would go back to Allt-na-Leven just to spend time enjoying that place again. Highly recommended!

The owner runs the tearoom and B&B and has a few helpers here and there. There are I believe, 4 room options. Two of the rooms can accommodate small families and the others are very quaint, perfect for a couple. All of the rooms have their own bathrooms, and are extremely spacious. I stayed in the room upstairs, I believe it was Room 4, and it had a queen bed and a twin bed with the best bathroom ever! What's great about this B&B, is that you can bring your own groceries in (and purchase them down the street at the local shop), and the owner provides a big kitchen all exclusively for her guests. Some people may not like this, as they expect prepared food service. But the woman who works there provides milk, cereal, bread and butter AND she has the tearoom connected to the B&B. The scones are all homemade by her, which are to die for, and has the best pastries I've ever had. They also have a barista there as well. The coffee is sublime and nothing like what people have these days. She grinds the coffee beans and has plenty of options for the perfect cuppa jo. There are also tons of options to choose from as far as tea goes as well! Once you have all of your necessities for your day, if the weather permits, you can sit out on the front of the property, and enjoy the scenic view of the loch. Along with the tearoom, joint with it is a gallery. The owner loves to showcase other artists from around Scotland and sell their work in the gallery. Please have a look at her website and see what there is to offer! She is also on facebook! The price is a smidge high for a stay, but you won't regret it and it's the best price for the area you'll be in. You are literally a 7 minute walk from Eileen Donan Castle and an even shorter walk to the Clachan (Dornie's adorable little pub). I could go on for about 5 more pages on why this is the best B&B in that area but I won't. If you're visiting the castle or just making a pit stop in Dornie, please go to the Schoolhouse Dornie!

What a pleasant stay in this Guest house!! It was very easy to find - only 300m something away from…read morethe train station. The owner was very friendly, not all rooms were busy that night. I was staying with my mother at the only twin room. That room is sharing a bathroom outside the room with another guest room. Luckily, the other room was empty and we had the option of taking a bath in big bathtub! We could see the port from the window, but I'm sure the other rooms would have better view as per the website photos. There was only one funny smell when entering the room, not sure why, and forgot to mention to the owner. The breakfast was really good!! Served porridge ourselves from a slow-cooker that was available in the dining area, keeping it warm for everyone. Glass jars for water with ice, juice served in glass jars, good strong coffee. Neither me or my mother are big fans of the black pudding, but the one they had was so tasty. I loved the sun rising on top of the hill opposite of the guest house - some warm before the hail that followed that day! Would I go back? Yes, to try one of the other rooms though!

This was our first time staying here and it won't be the last…read more Check in: Very smooth, we arrived early and wanted to drop our bags off, our room wasn't quite ready so Josephine took our bags and then Just gave us our room key so we could go straight to our room when we got back in. Room: Gorgeous! With a super comfy wooden framed bed, squishy pillows and a big fluffy duvet, bliss! There is a wee honesty box and a basket of water, chocolate and crisps. There is a decent sized kettle, a hair dryer and plenty of drawers to put your belongings in along with a cupboard with a rail. The room is a decent size and absolutely immaculate. The towels are fluffy and the shower has a decent flow and gets nice and hot. The shower gel and shampoo smell amazing! I'm going to ask where they are from so I can get some. There is one tiny drawback about the room and it's the location. It's right next to the front door and the dining room so you hear people, chatting and checking in. I think this room is a great option for somebody who may struggle to get upstairs but I think you should be asked if you mind having the room because of it's location. Don't get me wrong nobody has been over loud but you are aware of the people passing the room. One other wee thing, the selection of tea, coffee and hot choc is great and this is just a personal thing it would be nice to have maybe some peppermint or fruit tea in the options too. Breakfast: lush! You get a piece of paper the night before and circle the things you want on your cooked breakfast. There is a continental option too. In the dining room there is an assortment of cereals, yogurt and fruit. The bacon is yummy, really thick slices and really tasty. You get a decent sized portion. I ate over 4 hours ago and I'm not even peckish :-) Highly recommended! We will be back

The water would either come out scalding hot or freezing cold -- no in-between -- and trying to adjust it could easily burn you. It took a long time to get a manager involved, and when she finally arrived, she was incredibly dismissive. Instead of helping, she blamed us for "not knowing how to use Scottish showers," which made no sense -- we had just stayed at a nearby hotel with no issues. She then proceeded to lecture us and insisted that *everyone* should be comfortable with the preset water temperature *she* had chosen for the entire motel. Totally unacceptable. Not worth the money or stress. -

In order to keep it as new, the manager welcomes you with a lot of rules. In addition to a surveillance camera that reacts with a motion detector - i.e. is always switched on - you are filmed every time you enter and exit the main door the main . The rooms are tiny and low. The two attic rooms are not recommended for people taller than 165 cm. In addition, it is extremely warm in the upper rooms, which was mentioned as a precautionary measure and is to be accepted. You are not allowed to wear shoes in the house, you cannot eat anything warm in your room, the breakfast offer is extremely limited and you are watched by the manager while you are having breakfast, which creates an extremely unpleasant atmosphere. Smoking is only allowed in the parking lot opposite. There was no hot water the first night but was then fixed. So unfortunately a disappointment.
