4/8/23- checked in with a quick taxi drive and took about 5 minutes. Very nice staff and very professional. Greeters took out bags from the taxi and brought up to the room. Class act here. Staying here for 2 nights. Inside is fantastic and is so is the outside. Will post more later. Here are some photos.

We stayed at the Inverlochy Castle whilst on our honeymoon in Scotland and highly recommend it. The staff were incredibly welcoming and quick to answer all of our questions and even helped us coordinate the send-off of an at-home CoVID test that we were required to take during our international travel. The scenery around the castle is absolutely breathtaking (especially if you are from North Texas) and watching the deer walk across the glen during the early morning mist with the mountains in the background was sublime. The autumn colors definitely helped, so we highly recommend going during the fall. We loved both the dinner (though we felt overdressed compared to the other guests since I wore a full suit rather than a suit jacket), but the breakfast was the best part.

Inverlochy Castle is an amazing place to stay for a few nights outside of Edinburgh if you are looking to explore the Scottish countryside. The property itself is located just outside of Fort William but is in a nicely secluded loch-side location. The hotel grounds are beautiful and there is a working farm next door that gives one the chance to see some beautiful lambs up close. The castle proper has ~18 rooms along with two sitting areas for guests to mingle and enjoy drinks, coffee or casual meals. The formal dining room is where both breakfast and formal dinner are served. The formal dinner is either a 3 course or 6 course meal. I had the 3 course (75GBP...not incl. wine) and it was simply amazing. Of note, the formal dinners are for adults only Breakfast was also a wonderful affair, with plenty of options including eggs Benedict, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, etc...all made to order. You also have your choice of breakfast served in your own room. For evening entertainment, there is also a billiards room. During the day, there is also plenty of fresh fruit placed throughout the hotel. The service was also close to perfect throughout my staff. I will most certainly be back...and already look forward to my next stay.

Wow! Where to begin... Recent visit with my wife on our honeymoon from the States... The train journey from Glasgow into Fort William was surreal and the eventual drive onto the property felt like something straight out of a Hollywood movie. The staff are top notch - with a welcoming experience in line with the most pristine big-city 5-star hotels. The overall ambience is hard to describe - with part old world opulence and modern luxury. The captured photographs will tell tales for a lifetime. The dinner was stunning with a level of service fit for Kings and Queens. The only critique to be found is the lack of central air which made the unusually warm night especially hot for sleeping. Regardless, between the parked Rolls Royce and picturesque scenery, it would be hard to envision a more 'ornate' destination.

    The great hall.

What a beautiful and charming place. If we are ever given the opportunity to return to Scotland we will visit Inverlochy Castle again. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable, the entire staff was lovely and the dining and entertainment is the perfect environment to enjoy the Scottish highlands in. We stayed a few days and loved our accommodations. We enjoyed tea in the sitting room one afternoon and were quite impressed by the beautiful and delicious breakfast selections. The perfect experience. Would return in a heartbeat.

We planned to stay nearby in Glencoe and looked for a restaurant. The internet had little advice to offer but this restaurant came up multiple times with glowing reviews. Silly Goose is located in the Lime Tree Inn and it's pure perfection! We were greeted kindly and welcomed into the cozy dining space. Spacious but very romantic. We started with drinks enjoying local gin and whiskey. My husband got to try the Sassenach that he'd been eyeing! For dinner, we got the ribeye and chicken. We were so impressed with how well these were cooked. So soft and moist! We were too full for dessert but they had a nice menu of options. The restaurant is spectacular and worth the visit if you are in the area. Be sure to make a reservation as they did have to turn folks away!

Dinner was especially impressive with upscale playing and exquisite entrees and desserts. All the staff we encountered were helpful, patient and kind.

We arrived as early in the afternoon as possible as we had hopes it would be worth it. We wound around the drive to the 2 story house and parked our car. We wandered in as the husband of the house(it's a husband and wife that own it), was by the front door. He gave us a tour of the beautiful house, including the breakfast area and guided us to our room. Our room was called the Ben Nevis. Fitting, as it had an awesome view of, the Ben Nevis! It had a hat of clouds on but the valley below was just as great. The room was open and cozy at the same time with many accouterments. The location was great as there was a restaurant right near by that was walking distance. the next morn we had an excellent breakfast with toast, many cheeses and meats and some salmon. It was perfect for us as it was fairly quick and great to it the road. We really do hope to e back. It may be on another continent, but worth trying to make it back.

It's a fairly large hotel amongst the many B&Bs outside of Fort William. Our rooms are a little noisy until 10pm or so. We asked for a room with a view and ended up with half of one obscured by the lounge/bar building. Room is compact but serviceable. The common rooms, however, are very relaxing to just sit and enjoy the Loch in the setting/morning sun. Nautical maps abound, and there are a couple of topological maps if you are considering a walk in the nearby Glens the next day (of course, you should *actually* acquire one should you do so). The food is, ah, conventional. We went for venison burgers and vension sausages (sauces a little salty), and enjoyed them without anything worthy of special mention. Except the goat cheese, which turned out quite blue-vein. It's as if the meat itself lack that game taste a venison should ideally have, and they're making up for it with the other ingredients.
