My fiancé is in Seattle and I am in CA. Our story is truly special. From the first introduction to the engagement, my fiancée planned a memorable Yosemite - Mirror Lake proposal after climbing The Nose. Bob Santucci, owner of this special gem, helped make the entire process of getting my engagement ring a memorable one. From patiently finding a diamond that met my fiancé's expectation to bringing to life our ring setting, it mirrored the uniqueness of our story. Bob is a trusted expert. He is extremely detailed and is thorough in designing custom rings. I had pictures with ideas of what I wanted incorporated in my ring setting. The end result was perfection. He got every detail and idea in place. And more so, he took the time to get to know my fiancé and I more to understand exactly what we were looking for. He answered every question we had (and we had many questions)! We know that we have developed a friendship and partnership with Bob for life. We will be going to him for our wedding bands, future presents and anything that has to do with diamonds, gems, and jewelry. read more

Bob was amazing! So was everyone that worked here. The process and stress of creating a custom natural ring was met with experience and a want to do what was right for me and my now fiancé! Bob let me look at many stones to determine what was most important to me in my affordability range. It was amazing to see each stone side by side to truly know the difference between color, clarity, and carat ranges (he only does the excellent 'cut' as its maximum sparkle). And he only does natural diamonds that are GIA graded. Creating the setting was so fun as well! I showed quite a few examples and explained what I liked on each and we created the perfect setting together! Value wise, the quality for what I paid for exceeded what I could find online. Not only that, but for a ring I got to design every element of. Definitely recommend and the fiancé loves it! read more

We made an appointment here based on a friends recommendation, who had worked w the owner, Bob. We went in to meet w Melanie, and didn't think we would actually buy anything right then and there....but the stones they had were magnificent. My fiancé (Bob) ended up putting a down payment on a stone that day. It's amazing how different it is to actually see the stones and the quality in person, vs online like w Blue Nile. We were thinking about just buying something from there, until we saw the discrete differences in person. For example, a diamond with G or I color looks pretty white...until you sit it right next to a D color...all of a sudden, the G or I looks yellowish. But if you never sit it next to a D, you would have never noticed that. We got to design the ring how we wanted...double halo, split shank, platinum, flushed stone to setting, etc. It took longer than we had planned but it was all worth it in the end. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone that wants great quality, good price and good service. read more

West Coast Diamond & Gem - Doesn't capture the shine as much as in person, but you get the point. We designed it ourselves and love it!!! - Jewelry Near Me - Seattle, Washington

I could not be happier with the engagement ring that West Coast Diamond helped me design. Sarah did an incredible job helping me throughout the entire process and the end product is truly stunning. I will be going here for all my future jewelry needs. Thank you Sarah! read more

Promise me this. You'll never walk into a mall to buy jewelery. Ever. Think about it. How much does that retail space cost? Those 12 employees standing around? That marketing campaign that convinced you a little blue box will make all the difference? A diamond is a diamond. They're all mined from the same places. They're all cut by the same Israelis, they're all shipped and purchased through the same brokers in New York. There is even a professional jewelers website that allows diamond swapping between dealers so you can find that exact cut for your client. What differentiates a jeweler is the relationship and the price. West Coast Diamond and Gem is a small, by appointment only wholesaler with low overhead. They depend on word of mouth for business, and Bob Santucci, the owner, is the type of guy that you will tell your friends to go buy from. He's beyond reproach in his business dealings and will guide you, not push you, towards the perfect piece of jewelery. Guys, listen up here, he knows what he's doing and he'll save you from all sorts of 4Cs pain. He strongly urges you to find what you like at the mall stores and come back to him with your ideas. He can custom create almost any look you can imagine and tailor everything to anybody's budget. And next time some mall floozy saleswoman sees your girl's bling and starts to salivate at the prospects, you can say "No thanks, I've got a guy in the industry." read more

Went in with nothing but a couple recommendations for the business and a general budget. Danielle was instrumental in helping pick the stone, did lots of great comparisons and showed different setting options. And the option to bring it back if it was not what she was looking for was a big weight off my mind. Long story short, it was a huge success. Would highly recommend. read more

I have to echo the other rave reviews for West Coast D&G and it's owner, Bob. My fiance went here when he was thinking about proposing and spoke with Bob about rings. Bob was very respectful about his budget, never trying to up sell him and asked a lot of questions to help guide them to the right stone. I have now met Bob and he is helping me design a setting for the diamond. He can make anything you have seen or imagined and offers great advice for improvements or changes (You're very active, maybe something like this would be better. Your fingers are /long, short, etc/ tweaking a ring so it is more like this might look even better). He really knows his stuff, is very helpful and very nice. I think the coolest thing about my interaction with Bob is that after I brought in a picture of a ring I admired he had it recreated in a wax model so I could see it in 3D and even try it on. I would recommend Bob for everyone, but especially for people who don't really know a ton about diamonds or jewelry. He will spend time telling you everything you need to know, help you decide what will work well for you (and your budget) and above all he is SO honest and trustworthy, not at all smoozy or sales-guy like. He is the kind of guy you will have a great business relationship with and will go back to with absolute confidence any time you need a piece of jewelry. read more

Bob is great! Almost every piece of jewelry I have is from West Coast Diamond and Gem, many of the pieces, including my wedding ring, custom made. The best pricing too, don't go to a retail showroom! read more

Bob's prices are better than Blue Nile and you get to see the stones and settings and it has a 100% money back guaranteee. You can also upgrade to a larger stone anytime in your life and get 100% of the price you paid! I have used Bob on referral and will now never use any other service. He gives you great service whether it's a $300 pair of earings or a $10K+ engagement ring. Top notch. Just bring cash or check b/c they don't take credit. read more

Those who say it's inexpensive are rich or something. The cheapest ring they have is 2 kilobucks. Im off to Zales.

I saw a pair of earrings at this hoity toity store downtown. I really liked the design but they were way too big and way too expensive (190k for a design with 10 pieces total of marquis diamonds) I remembered Bob saying he can do any custom, so I went to see him. I drew him the design and the rough size. He says he can do it for less than 2k. Hello? Did I hear him right? But then, he actually goes onto talk me out of that design because he was concerned about how often I'd be able to wear them (They did look pretty fancy even in the smaller size) What kind of salesman talks people out of buying a more expensive piece because he is concerned you won't be able to wear them every day??? He really cares about his diamonds and his customers. He told me that if I'm going to spend the money, I should get something I'd be able to wear often, if not every day, and enjoy them. So I ended up going for a pair of classic studs. I had narrowed them down to two pairs- one slightly smaller but better grade, and the other bigger, but lower on clarity. He again recommends the smaller pair (also less expensive pair) because they were prettier. Bottom line, the price on the earrings were so good that I decided to get a necklace, and of course, he picked out a perfect one!!! I spent about half the budget I was prepared to spend for earrings alone and came home with earrings & a necklace. I even asked him why his prices were so good. I knew it wasn't because he had bad stones, but his prices were just too good. He said he doesn't have to pay all the comission etc, so he can do fine without having to overcharge. I am pretty sure I'll see him again next year, if not sooner. As long as he's in business, I won't go anywhere else for the sparkleys. read more

I echo the previous review. Bob is a patient, informative, and honest person. In a trade that most people view with suspicion, feel at ease that he is not going to give you a bunch of salesperson talk to make a sale. He will walk you through all the options and take care of your questions. For those guys looking for an engagement ring, look no further - and if you want verification that you are getting a much better deal than your buddy did, stop in the store at the base of Bob's building and take a look at the prices on some of their rings compared Bob's. West Coast Diamond and Gem is 5 STARS without hesitation. read more
