Several years ago I had an antique necklace with several large diamonds in it that I brought in to get appraised. I got a weird vibe from the appraisal the owner gave me. It was like he was trying to sell me that it wasn't worth that much. I hung on to the necklace and later had it appraised by a gemologist who gave it much higher appraisal. I ended up selling the necklace for 4 times the original price quoted to me Dacels. I have gone to this shop for 10 years to have my swiss watch maintained. It was a convenient location, so i didn't mind that they sent it out, and marked it up. They got the job done, and were nice. Took them over 3 week's to get a battery replaced and watch cleaned, but i was ok with that. More recently, i asked them to work on the watch, which required some welding. They indicated it would be too difficult, even though i had all the parts. Their in house person looked at it, and their recommendation was to buy a new watch. Fast forward a few months later, i stopped in at another watch repair shop. I showed them the watch. They took it in, evaluated it, welded it, got it all fixed in 1 day. So, bottom line, i would not recommend this place as a jeweler for fixing your watches. Can't speak to anything else. read more

Beware of this store. It is close to where we live, so my wife took her diamond wedding ring there for an insurance appraisal. Instead of doing this, the manager gave her a gloom and doom verbal pitch for repairs, saying that the ring was falling apart, needing at least $3,500 of work. My level of customer service began with a five and finished with a zero! Dacels was a referral from a family member. When I originally visited the store, they were very happy to help me find what I thought would be the perfect engagement ring store. After three successful meetings, I made a purchase. Since this was a surprise gift, we spoke about having the flexibility to return the stone if necessary. After a successful proposal, my fiance visited the store the next day with setting photos and ideas, as well as wanting to see additional stone options. After she left the store, the customer service level dropped immediately - no communication when promised, never receiving pricing information on additional stones/settings, and a missed appointment. The disappointment and lack of service we received took the sails out of our excitement of the engagement. After five weeks we'd had enough. Upon reaching out and letting them know we want to return the stone due to horrible customer service and go with a different jeweler, Dacels told us they have a 'no return policy.' Basically we are now forced to settle with their horrible service and original stone, upgrade to a bigger purchase or sell it and use another jeweler with better customer service; either way we loose. We did finally speak with the owner and he's a great guy who helped resolve the issue. We returned the diamond for credit. Thank you. read more

Rob was incredibly helpful with finding us the right set of rings for our wedding. He had some stones special ordered and my ring was custom-made to fit my unique taste. He assured us that we would be pleased with the results. Each time we stopped by he found time to treat us as his guests. Until we paid. Once he had our money in full, he had no interest in discussing potential flaws in my ring's construction and even denied that they existed, though other people can easily see the off-center setting and discoloration of several (created) stones. We figure he just didn't want to have the ring remade, but that's no way to treat a customer (especially since we didn't want it remade anyway). I'm not sure whether I will return here when I update the ring. read more

I'm disappointed in Dacels customer relations and honestly expected more from a store that claims 'world class service'. My husband recently took my 5 year old wedding ring that he bought from Dacels in for a routine cleaning and check. They told him that the middle diamonds prongs weren't as secure as they could be and that they recommended spending an extra $100 to fix the problem, My issue is why would they sell a ring with loose fittings and why won't they correct the problem at no charge because it's a settings failure. The most horrendous customer service experience I've ever had. A heartfelt gift from my husband and children for my anniversary turned into a 3 year nightmare. Within a month after receiving my new ring I lost a stone and the jeweler told me it was my fault because I was too hard on it. They replaced the stones and I lost another one a week later. They then told me the design, which THEY recommended, would not work for the soft stones I had chosen. At that point they were difficult to get a hold of, were condescending when I spoke to them, would not give me a price for redesigning, would not give me a refund. In the end they charged me almost double of what my budget was. The owner was the worst of all in regards to customer service. Buying a new piece of jewelry is supposed to be an exciting wonderful thing and Dacels turned it into a nightmare. read more

I have NEVER had this happen with white gold and when I took it back he offered to 'coat' it again..Really???? I refused and will never shop there again. The ring is never worn. read more

I had a Raymond Weil watch that stopped working. I took it to Dacels. They gave me a quote of $400 to repair it. They said it was justified because the watch was worth $3500. I took the watch to another jeweler in issaquah. They fixed it by completely replacing the movement (using the same movement as Weil) and charged me $75. I had a few others estimate the watch value at around $900. read more

I had a platinum ring resized here and they did an amazing job. They do platinum resizing the right way (laser welding, replace metal using actual platinum) so the ring is seamless. You can't tell at all that it has been resized - it looks as perfect as the day it was created. I've seen friends' resized rings where you can tell that it has been resized and I knew I didn't want my ring to look like that. I'm SO thankful I found a place that does it right. We were contacted by Collette who went way beyond her duties to find one from one of their respurces, she showed is 3 in which we went with one (which we found strange since I am so particular about things and this was for one of the most influential and positive part of me). She also showed us chains, I got one, then returned it and got another. They lasered the necklace pendant shut and without any notice. They also said we could put tge ashes in ourselves at the store if we wanted. They also checked out some of my other jewelery to let me know what they were made of. First time shopping for a diamond ring, stopped by the Factoria location after going to a few other stores and not getting a good feeling about them. One "engagement ring store" in Bellevue spent an hour with me, then wouldn't return my calls? Not the case with Dacels, specifically Rob. He gave me a free cleaning and appraisal on an inherited family ring before I spent a penny, worked diligently with me to source exactly what I had specified, was fast to return my calls and emails (sometimes within minutes), helped me with many aspects of the purchase including insurance issues and shipping, and had a great demeanor and professional yet friendly attitude the entire time. I only give 4/5 stars because I have nothing else to compare it to, but in my experience Dacels (Rob) took an experience that I was hesitant about, and turned it into an easy, educational and even fun project. A+ Update 4/5/11: I've since given them return business as I was so impressed with my initial experience. I was able to send them a description, and an example picture of a piece of jewelry I wanted created. DO NOT REPAIR JEWELRY HERE!!! I took my engagement ring to Dacel's for a simple sizing for $80. When I dropped off the ring, the guy at the front said that there was a chance that if my side stones (I have 16 micro paves) came loose during sizing, they would charge me $20 per first 4 stones then $10 per additional. I agreed thinking that there was little chance that the worse would happen which would be that all stones come loose and I would have to pay that crazy amount. (I was only going down 3/4 of a size) Well it did happen, when I picked up the ring, he nonchalantly mentioned: "BTW, every one of your stones came loose, you'll have to pay the cost." I was floored! In the end I paid $280 to get my ring sized!!!! Tell me how this makes sence???? The worse part was, the job I paid $280 for them to do was horrible, the width of the ring is much thinner at the bottom half leaving me a unsymmetrical ring and the kicker is that it was not even sized to the right size! It's still loose on me but I refuse to take it back since I'd rather take it as a huge lessons learned and walk away before I let them rip me off again. BE WARNED. read more
