Fantastic French fries, best I've ever had. This simple chip truck serves only French fries and canned beverages. However it's worth the trip just for the fries. They're cooked perfectly. When you order they will fill up your fry box half way so you can top the center of the fries with your choice of Ketchup, vinegar, malt vinegar and salt; then you hand them back the box to top it up the rest of the way! During the fall, my girlfriend and I drove to Arnprior to visit friends. On our way home, we decided to stop at 'Wes Chips' for some French Fries. The cashier was extremely rude, while talking very fast as I tried to place my order. Maybe I should have just left, but decided to ignore the disrespectful cashier. A few minutes later the cashier told me to come closer to the open window. The cashier loudly said to everyone within hearing range, "Your order is almost ready. The cook will make a noise when your order is done." Next, I heard a loud and long sneeze from the back of their fast-food stand. Handing me the open box of French Fries with a devious look on her face the cashier said, "We added an extra ingredient to your fries!" I'm sure that you can easily guess what this "extra ingredient" was. Since my food was tampered with, I ended up leaving and throwing it into the garbage. Given what happened, we will never go back to 'Wes Chips'. It's disgusting how 'Wes Chips' treats their customers. 'Wes Chips' only takes cash. (They don't accept either credit cards and/or debit.). The chip stand isn't sanitary or clean. The cashier handles money and food, but never washes their hands. Given our outrageous experience, I can't recommend 'Wes Chips' to anyone. Many people have told me the chips were much better when the previous owners ran this business. The French Fries were always hot and crispy, not soft and mushy tasting like they are now. I would have given a rating of zero stars, but that isn't possible when leaving a review. read more

Dang good fries!! Even though they only sell fries and nothing else this place is always busy, especially when the weathers nice. Bring an umbrella or sit under a tree to avoid getting pooped on by the circling seagulls. They're a pain really!! Definitely pop in if you drive by!!! read more

Spring isn't officially here until I've had a big ol' box of Wes' chips!! The taste of their fries are unlike any other fries I've ever had before. Perfect on their own no other side needed. Another thing I love about Wes' is how they stuck to the basics. No add ons, no "can I poutine your fries" no debit machine just fries and a pop if you should choose. Everytime I drive by I am guaranteed to see a car or two parked waiting for their order or on a hot day a line up right to the road. That is one place I do not mind waiting outside in line for because I know it will be worth it in the end. I guarantee if you ask the locals what summer treat sticks out in your mind when you think of Arnprior Wes' will more than likely be at the top of the list. I decided to go out for a drive today to enjoy the sunshine and stopped in Arnprior for some french fries on the way to Pakenham for some ice cream. (I'll have to pay for that with some time on the bike when I get home I think). I have to say, for a second visit experience I was disappointed. My medium fries were dry and tasteless even though they didn't look over cooked. Quite disappointing. This now being a 50/50 experience (first time decent, second time bad), I don't think I'd make the drive out from Ottawa just for the fries again, but that's just me. read more

People from Northern Ontario know that Sturgeon Falls has the best chip stands. Wes' is the only chip stand east of Sturgeon that comes very close to the same quality, freshness and taste. A must try!! read more
