I finally found one that could get it through the test after many attempts.. IT Failed! was thinking it was the Catalytic Converter, which for this van is about $1,500.00 to be Carb compliant in Colorado... Was given Midtown Auto's name, I called them, they got me in to check it with a gas analyzer, (many shops do not have them) within a couple of days I got the news.. They adjusted different areas on the motors, gas air Etc., replaced the throttle housing (No Charge except labor). I had also mentioned the Emissions inability to shift the van and get it through the testing , so they adjusted the shift linkage also. Then they took it to the emission station, and got a passing test for me! What a relief !! These guys were professional and friendly. My only charges were for labor, It was so worth it, saving me the headache of finding a station to get it through the testing process, after the repairs. It runs and drives great! Thank you Midtown Auto !!

Do not give this place your money. I went in as a recommendation from my car guy to fix my bumper…read more The bumper started falling off within the first couple weeks I had it. They blamed it on the fact that I nicked a curb. Bumpers shouldn't be falling off like that. I went and last week to get it fixed and they GLUED IT ON! The guy basically told me I was SOL and that I need a new bumper. I got this in May by the way. My nice car that I own is now trashed. I need to figure out how to get it fixed somewhere else it's going to be even more expensive. That's $5000 down the shitter. Edit: These guys pick and choose who they scam. They scammed me, charged me for a new headlight and didn't even fix it. Such shotty work.

As a WOMAN who KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT CARS, this was my worst literal NIGHTMARE…read more I brought in my 2017 Subaru Outback (only worth about $6,000) with a clear complaint: a persistent oil/exhaust smell inside the cabin. I was told the issue was a failing head gasket and approved a $3,700 repair in good faith, trusting their expertise. Once work began, I was told there was an additional $2,300 in "necessary" repairs, bringing the total to about $6,000. I approved it, believing it would fix the issue. At no point was I told that this might not resolve my original complaint. When I picked up my car, the smell was STILL there. I brought it back in and I was told that I now needed an additional $4,000 exhaust/front pipe/gasket repair. So after spending $6,000 (the value of the entire car per multiple sources), the original issue was not fixed--and I was being asked to spend thousands more. 10K total. When I raised concerns, I was told I didn't properly distinguish between an oil smell and an exhaust smell. I am not a mechanic. It is not reasonable to expect a customer to diagnose the issue. I clearly reported a smell inside the cabin and relied on them to properly investigate and fix it. Additionally, I was then told that this can be a multi-faceted process. This would have been nice to know before I dropped $6K. I requested the diagnostic test results (ie. compression test, leak-down test, etc.) from which they used to initially diagnose the head gasket as the main problem, but I have yet to see anything. I was also charged a $140 "complimentary inspection" fee that was supposed to be credited toward repairs--but it was not removed from my bill and wouldn't have been discovered had I not taken a fine toothed comb to the invoice. On top of that, it took weeks for this to be refunded to me. In an attempt to "resolve" things, they later offered to install a USED catalytic converter--an item they had not even diagnosed as the problem in the first place--"at or below cost," which is prohibited under Colorado emissions law. When I discovered this and brought it to their attention, they immediately tried to backtrack and say that it was "actually aftermarket" and not USED. I have zero trust in this company. They will never touch my car again. I paid $6,000 trying to extend the life of my car and left with the same unresolved issue, new problems, and zero confidence in their integrity or workmanship. Proceed with extreme caution. One Pro: I now know way more about cars than I ever wished to know.

One visit I waited on my car, and in doing so, couldn't help overhearing some of the calls made by the young lady in the office. I observed the Autoworks Colorado technicians working together, consulting one another on correct diagnoses, and OFTEN coming in from the shop with better than estimated repair assessments on many of the customers' vehicles. And subsequently, the young lady placed the calls to the customers, informing them of the better than expected repairs and prices. As I sat there I thought to myself, "I have never been to any repair facility where I heard the guys lower a repair bill, let alone contact the customer and pass along any savings." That kind of integrity is so very rare today, and not remembering if I acknowledged it last time I was there, I wanted to make sure I acknowledge it this go around. Autoworks Colorado is one of the most organized, conscientious, honest, and caring team of people I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. The shop is always neat and clean. The techs always smiling and engaging with the customers, office staff are so pleasant to discuss business with, and Mark, the owner who is always on-site and hands on, is always courteous and helpful when I have had the pleasure of interacting with him. Making the assumption that he has the final word in picking members of the Autoworks Colorado family, he has most definitely assembled a very talented team of the highest caliber. They all are GENUINELY wonderful people, caring about each and every outcome, and together form a fantastic company to do business with. Autoworks Colorado staff's efforts, proficiency, and caliber are greatly appreciated. It is a very difficult business to be in when dealing with someone's problem, which is obviously what a repair shop does. Autoworks Colorado makes that experience as pleasant as I have ever encountered. Keep up the great work and Kudos to you all!! I was traveling to Denver for a couple days and had an accident with a 18wheeler tire that ripped out my AC Condenser. BEWARE: Predatory & Dishonest Practices…read more I brought my car in for an oil change and filter replacement. Instead of performing the requested service, the shop attempted to upsell me on a $15,000 engine replacement--without completing basic troubleshooting. I repeatedly asked them to clean the MAF sensor and throttle body as part of diagnosing my issue. They refused. Instead, they wasted my time with unnecessary "repairs" that didn't fix the issue, then stalled my car's return for days while dodging my questions. Here's where it gets worse: They pressured me to take out a $15,000 loan to pay for an engine I never agreed to replace. They advised me NOT to report this to my insurance company--without me even mentioning insurance in the first place. When I arrived to pick up my car, the advisor's hands were visibly shaking.
