Went in with my family around 7, 7:30 Friday October 10 my kids ordered two #3's with honey mustard & Bbq.. I had a coupon from the app order anything $5 or over get a free any size fry. I processed with my order I got a BLT no tomatoes & a Double Stack the female manger with glass took my order scan the coupon but gave me awards points instead of reading the coupon for the free large fry. When I got my receipt I did not see the free fry. I ask & showed her the coupon she said idk nothing about that. I told her this is what I ordered she did not care about the coupon didn't try to read it she was too impatient to help me or to figure out what the coupon was about I thought the customer came first, not to her the food came first instead helping me out with my coupon that scan.. when I got home my kids was short their chicken nuggets. I believe this Wendy's has since improved from the last time folks have reviewed it. I usually check reviews before I go to places and saw this particular Wendy's currently has 1 1/2 stars. It's the closest Wendy's near my house and so I gave it a chance. I was pleasantly surprised, the man taking my order was kind and patient with me and my husband ordering. Our food came out extremely fast which was the biggest surprise since many previous reviews stated there was a long wait time. Fast food establishments are pretty standard on what they serve, I got the spicy chicken sandwich and have no complaints. It is exactly what you expect from a Wendy's and I enjoyed it especially with a side of the ghost pepper ranch. We went on a weekday evening and it was relatively empty in the restaurant at the time, it was quiet and clean when we ate there. I would recommend giving this place a chance. read more

Let me preface this by saying that I have tried reaching out to corporate to discuss all the issues at this location but nothing changes. If I could give it NO stars I would. Save yourself the frustration and find another place to eat. THIS WENDY'S IS THE WORST EVER! If I wrote a review for each time I tried to give them another chance and they let me down, I'd spend the majority of my time writing reviews. For starters, this is the only Wendy's close by. There is no other Wendy's in Swansboro, Cedar Point, Cape Carteret, or Hubert. So for the one and only, it is horrible. The older, blonde-haired manager really doesn't help to resolve issues. Food takes forever. It's usually wrong. Prices vary based on who the manager on duty is. And during our last visit, the pregnant girl on the drive-thru didn't seem to know the difference between asking what else you might want on your burger and what else you want with your order. I ordered a cheeseburger plain and she asked what else I wanted on it so I repeated just a plain cheeseburger and she got completely annoyed and said NO, what do you want to drink? Like I was supposed to decipher that code. So I place the rest of my order and when I pull up the window, she's not wearing gloves and her mask is not covering her nose and mouth. (DURING THE PANDEMIC) Then she proceeds to make our drinks by grabbing the cups with her bare hands and sticking her hands and the cups into the ice machine to fill them up. Then with the lids OFF of the cups and her mask down, she holds them under her face and starts having a whole conversation with someone we can directly see for like 3 or 4 minutes. So, I beep the horn to alert her that I'd like to have the drinks remade and she proceeds to chat it up and ignores us. When she finally gets to the window I address the issue and ask for new drinks due to the fact that she was not wearing her mask properly and had been talking over the uncovered cups. That really irritated her and she replied that she was pregnant and trying to breathe. I told her I understood but I'm a mom and I'm not trying to get COVID or let my kids get it. Her reply? Fine, I don't care, I'll give you new drinks. Why so snotty? You know the mask mandate for restaurant employees. Come on Wendy's you can do better. To add insult to injury, some big dude then comes to the window and opens it, sticks his head out and stares at me without saying a word. So I smile and say "yes?" and he starts talking to me in this weird condescending tone. He says, are you upset? You seem upset. I see you talking in your car (I was with my daughter) and you're waving your hands around. (Yes, that's how I talk. LOL) I guess he was trying to intimidate me. Not a chance. I looked at him and said, "do you have a policy for wearing gloves?" he says "yes" and I let him know his drive-thru girl isn't wearing any. He then says she's not handling food so it isn't an issue. So then I point at the icebox and ask him if there's ice in there. Of course, he says yes. So I tell him that she just stuck her hands in there with the cups to get ice. All he could say was that she was supposed to use a scoop. But still, even if that were the case, the scoop is being touched with her bare hands and she is then dropping the scoop back in the ice. Then I let him know that she had her mask down and was talking over our open cups. He just closed the window and walked away. No apology. Just attitude. Didn't get an apology from the drive-thru girl either. While we waited the two of them continued to chat it up off to the side just out of view from the drive-thru window where we couldn't really see them or what they were doing to our food. The manager then appears and it looks like they are all chatting about us cause we get a few glances. Then probably as punishment, they had us sit there for 20 more minutes. By the time we got our food, there were 5 cars behind us and neither the drive-thru girl nor the big dude gave us our food. Instead, the manager opens the window, doesn't make eye contact and shoves the bag in my face, and starts to close the window before I've even fully grasped the bag. No apology, nothing. I have given this Wendy's too many chances to make good and they have consistently disappointed. That last visit was the last straw. NEVER AGAIN. read more

The place is clean enough, but the lady behind the front counter, Theresa, was extremely rude not only to my wife and me, but also to the other customers behind us. It was almost as if she had a grudge against everyone placing an order because each order meant she would have to do some work. For being a fast food restaurant, "fast" is hardly an accurate descriptor for this place. Ten minutes per order on average during the time we visited. Nobody was in any hurry to prepare food for customers. I understand that this is the South, I'm from here and nobody should move that slowly or reluctantly. This is their third strike and the reason I'm writing a review. It's the same thing each time. I ask for no Swiss cheese sauce on my sandwich, and replace it with regular American cheese. It never fails, they never get it right. This last time I even asked them to please make sure that they put on the right cheese, still messed it up. This Wendy's is attached to a Hess Gas Station and the drive through is all the way on the left of the building and parking lot. I come here for lunch. The inside is the older design but it's clean. The food tastes good and is hot, personally I think all Wendy's french fries are over-salted. Like most Wendy's I've been to, ordering takes longer and some waits for your food are longer too. read more

Unfortunately the only positive thing I can say about this Wendy's is my order was correct and it was hot. It took approx 30 mins from the time we walked in to get our food and there was no line, it then took about 15-20 mins to get a couple frosties. All total we were in this FAST FOOD restaurant for over an hour. After conversing with other people in the restaurant, we learned that this was normal for the dining room. The drive thru seemed to be moving pretty quickly and most of the employees including the manager were giving attention to the drive thru over the customers staring them in the face. They were all very unprofessional, I do not recommend eating in at this Wendy's and it may be a while before we take a chance on the drive thru. read more
