Went in with my family around 7, 7:30 Friday October 10 my kids ordered two #3's with honey mustard & Bbq.. I had a coupon from the app order anything $5 or over get a free any size fry. I processed with my order I got a BLT no tomatoes & a Double Stack the female manger with glass took my order scan the coupon but gave me awards points instead of reading the coupon for the free large fry. When I got my receipt I did not see the free fry. I ask & showed her the coupon she said idk nothing about that. I told her this is what I ordered she did not care about the coupon didn't try to read it she was too impatient to help me or to figure out what the coupon was about I thought the customer came first, not to her the food came first instead helping me out with my coupon that scan.. when I got home my kids was short their chicken nuggets. So idk what was important to her. I never had a problem til now I always felt like this location was family friendly.

This is what you get when ordering a Carolina Classic!

Service was terrible. I was the only customer in the Restaurant AND NOBODY would even acknowledge my presence for over ten minutes. (I think I showed up in the middle of a shift change, but no excuse.) I ordered the Carolina Classic because it looked pretty good. It was NOT what the add picture showed. The "manager" told me, "you can't expect it to look like the picture." I really have a problem with poor service and false advertising.

Dave's Double

Got a Dave's double and it was completely raw and it was not busy waited at the window for at least 5 or more minutes kinda disappointed

Not sure why they have this on the counter. Bust be a symbol of how slow they are.

It's a small place to only send one person it to check in. Love all the classic decor. From Elvis to Marilyn and classic cars galore! While you wait, explore downtown! The best part about those outreach clinics was lunch with the school nurses. It's how I found all the locals places. Yana's was our Swansboro go to and despite moving away in 2011 and just now going back, the food was just as delicious today as it was then. And everyone who has dined repeatedly at a favorite place knows things rarely stay (or taste) the same. Bestie & hit Yana's shortly after 11 this beautiful Saturday morning and even though there were 4 parties ahead of us, we barely waited 15 minutes. I've had alot of the items on the menu during those outreaches (and with family) and never had anything I didn't enjoy but today, I went with breakfast of a western omelet (minus the sausage & tomato) with hashbrowns (home fries) and toast. My omelet had fresh green peppers, perfectly cooked, griddle bacon and cheesy cheese. I just wanted to keep eating but I was getting full. Bestie & I also had a combination order of banana & apple fritters. My food was just as I remembered-DEEEEELICIOUS! And our fritters just makes me want to go back in a few days to see if they have strawberries in supply. Honestly, I would drive from our new home in Richlands down to S'boro every weekend if hubby would let me lol. If you decide to dine here & are put off by the wait, don't be. Get on the wait list & do a little shopping. You won't regret it. Ps, omelet didn't last long enough for a pic!

A MUST for great food and service. Today was out first-time visiting Boro. We were doing some…read moretraining with our dog, Vinny and wanted to see how his first experience would be. The host and other employees quickly took to paying him LOTS of loving attention. They provided water and ice for him. They even have a dog menu - he loved the grilled chicken. The clam chowder was better than any I ever had in New England - definitely will have another serving. Hannah doubled check to ensure I had no specific dietary requirements after I made a request for no back on top. I ordered the beet salad - it was a perfect serving for lunch - it came with mixed greens instead of arugula, but that was not a big deal for me. My spouse ordered the flounder with a side of asparagus and coleslaw - all good portions. The batter on the flounder was light, which was appreciated. Service by Hannah was TOP NOTCH, very attentive to us and our furbaby. Checked on us several times, answered all of our questions about the food, shared the specials and also inquired if I wanted tea to go. It's the little details of customer service that makes a HUGE difference for us. Thanks Hannah for the EXCELLENT service - we will be back!

Kistler Chardonnay, and a canned beet salad?…read more I wrote a review of Boro about 8 years ago, it may be interesting to go out and compare the two. I have to say my wife and I are confused by our latest dinner experience more than anything. We could not get into Il Cigno Italiano, a fantastic restaurant (I recommend to the eggplant meatballs), who suggested we visit their "sister site" Boro. We love Il Cigno and thought, wow this going to be great. I did not realize the two were related under one organization. Like all my reviews, I try very hard to keep drama and non factual commentary out as much as possible. I focus on setting expectations based on my experience. Ambiance - Boro has changed since we were there last. The bar was walled off from the main dining more than before. The walls were empty with no art or really anything... pretty sterile...not a romantic setting, but more of a family setting. In fairness, they may be remodeling, I did not ask. One last critical item, we were sitting under a HVAC wall unit, that leaked on us through the meal. I would have asked to move but we moved to the far end of the booth, it was fine then. The outdoor patio is still nice though, and is fun to go watch bands and relax listening to music. We do this frequently as we are "locals". Service - our waitress was attentive, very nice and did check on us. The hostess was great, and was able to seat us right away. So service was pretty spot on. ....except, I am no longer paying credit card service fees that are not verbally noted when I sit down (small print on the menu does not count). These fees, have been added as "Covid era" item to help restaurants. I had no issue with it then, however, we are not in Covid anymore. I run a business and feel this is a cost of doing business and needs to be in the pricing (more helpful for customers) or absorbed. 3% is well over $200 per year for our eating out budget. Food - this is where I left scratching my head. My wife and I both ordered the Beet Salad. It read on the menu it had arugula, butter nut squash and a combination of greens. When it arrived, there was very little arugula, very sparse squash and it had canned beets on it. The greens were very scarce, more of a garnish than a salad amount. At best it looked like it was a small side salad, not a dinner salad. It was not a good price point for what we received in my opinion. However, the Tuna Takati was nicer for $15 and much closer to an Il Cigno level of offering. Another strange dynamic was they offered Kistler Chardonnay, which runs for about $90 a bottle. It is a world class wine, but Im not sure how well it matches the restaurant, or the level and quality of the food we were severed. In summary, if I was the owner of Il Cigno I would be hesitant to send folks to Boro who may looking for an Il Congo experience. In fairness, I did not ask about decor or the HVAC. However, the food is not at par for the pricing or the quality I would expect after eating at Il Cigno. Aug 15, 2026 - This is a follow up to this review. Boro up charged my credit card after I clearly wrote the intended tip and why I cut it short. See the new picture of my credit card statement. I want to say is was a mistake, but both pictures tell a hard story. We will not be back.
