Tried this Waffle House in Swansboro close to where I live. A solid spot where you can get in and out with a decent breakfast. The staff was friendly, a little too much noise in the back from yelling, but still a good atmosphere. The food came out quick and the food was good. Bread sucked, but the bacon was a nice thick cut. The inside is a usual Waffle House atmosphere with enough seating. Thanks! read more

Went on Saturday, June 27, around 7:00 pm. Waitress (ticket said Madeline) never greeted us--just asked what we wanted. Asked for coffee and placed order. Waited and waited for coffee. Finally called to her across counter and asked for coffee again. She said she was brewing decaf but did not bring husband's regular which had been ready all the time. I know how long it takes to brew coffee and this was way beyond time limit. Finally brought his regular and he asked for creamer which she brought a handful of and threw on table. My decaf finally came out. She brought it and another handful of creamer. I asked for sweetner which she brought a handful of. All of this without her speaking a word. She brought meals, put ticket on table, and brought coffee refills when we called to her across counter. All of this transpired without her checking on us or without her saying a word to us. I didn't want to leave a tip, but husband said she probably needed it. Told the girl at checkout about this, but since they had been laughing and playing around, I doubt that it mattered. Service was bad, there was two free tables this guy told us to wait for them to clean the tables, we did wait for 10 minutes they were looking at us just standing, in special a guy with curly hair, we sat down on one of the dirty tables to see if like that they would clean it but this curly hair guy told us like mad that we needed to wait at the front, we left because we were still waiting and as soon as we left he cleaned the table. read more

Gotta give this place some time to get settled. The first thing is that staff is friendly! The place is small so there is going to be a wait for a booth but they do have a high bar and a low bar counter. Our greeter was very sweet and always kept us update as to the length of time for a booth. She also made sure that if the high or low bar came available if we wanted it. We waited for a booth. Our first server came to take our drink order. I ordered coffee and my friend water. All of a sudden a new person came and we repeated our drink order. She came back with two waters, no coffee. I reminded her I would like coffee. She took our food order. I got biscuits and gravy. My friend got a patty melt and asked for onions. The girl came back and said onions come on it, and she said great. She did not come back with my coffee, so I reminded her again. While we were waiting for our food the waitress brought over two more glasses of water. Humm okay thank you, but may I have my coffee. She brought it. We just laughed. When our food arrived the patty melt did not have onions on it. She took it back and came back with cold chopped onions. A patty melt should have caramelized onions on it. Again, we just laughed. Our waitress is trying so hard. She is friendly and polite. You can't get upset over a few mistakes. We ate our meal and chit chatted for a bit. Our waitress brought our check, (Me $3 my friend $6). We went to pay and learned that the total $3 includes the tax. Wow... no change to mess with. I like that. But while writing this review, I just noticed that she forgot to charge me for my coffee, unless it is included, I do not know. I will have to go back and check. I hear from friends on Facebook good and bad. But they are still to new so you have to give them some grace. The other thing that is different is that they are only open 6 AM to 2 PM. They need to find more people willing to work, is what one staff member said. They are hoping by October to be open a little longer and then down the road 24 hours. These folks are really energetic and quick to serve you! At most breakfast restaurants I do a bagel with bacon and eggs. Since Waffle House doesn't have bagels I made a sandwich with the waffle! Well done waffle, scrambled eggs and crispy bacon with mayo. Really different but tasty and will try again! read more

Visited this restaurant 4 times so far, 4 different servers, 3 different people that I dined with. I am so happy that Waffle House is in Swansboro NC. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone and everyone. Food is great and servers are very attentive and polite. read more

Hard workers food served fast. Everyone is nice. I'm so glad they built this so close to my home.

Total disaster. I left, paying full cost + tip without having one bite of food. $16 for a half cup of coffee and won't be back.

We were in for breakfast recently. The waitress was amazing. The food was really good, and the portion was huge. The problem for us (and it was a big one), a staff member started sweeping dust from the ceiling and it was flying everywhere. We could not continue to eat. I could see it in the air over my food. There's definitely a time to do that kind of cleaning, but not when you have a restaurant full of people eating. It is unfortunate, but it was enough to make me not want to eat there again. read more

Been here 3 times since open and every time I've been let down. I guess I shouldn't expect much but basic things are being messed up every time. Hashbrowns are always soggy and mushy. Order has been messed up 2 of 3 times. However, the staff is friendly and the place is clean. They just need to tighten up the quality of the food and the attention to the particulars of the order. read more
