Food is fantastic!! They ran out of a few items (had a busy Valentines day service before we arrived, so it's understandable- and we love that for them!) The attentiveness and warmth was palpable and made the already tasty food even better. Both Ms Jackie and our server were wonderful and extended 5star hospitality. THANK Y'ALL!!

PRESTONS formally Swansboro food and beverage company offers a delightful dining experience with its excellent atmosphere that exudes a cozy home-like feeling. It's perfect for a relaxed yet classy date night on the town. The food is delicious and always served piping hot, the service is quick, and the overall ambiance creates a warm and inviting vibe. I love the care they put into their foods and extra touches such as their amazing pickled vegetables and garnishes. It shows they very much care. The nearby exploration options add an element of fun and a great place to walk off the meal. The only small wish is for outdoor dining to complement the house-like atmosphere inside. Overall I 100% recommend grabbing a bite to eat here. Recommend: the French onion soup, crème brûlée!

Our first visit was great, and we will definitely be back! Carrie provided great service and recommendations. We had the crab rangoon nachos, shrimp and grits and the tuna poke bowl. All of our dishes were delicious, generous portions and great flavor. Even the kid's meals. A nice change from our normal spots in Morehead City and Emerald Isle. Reasonably priced as well!

    Clam Chowder

Four stars only because we had to ask for our silverware and napkins and I had to ask for my water twice, but other than that our waiter in the back bar area was funny and sweet. The Prime Rib Sandwich ($16) was very good. The waiter brought it with a side of a special sauce rather than the au jus. Very good just didn't catch the name. I had the clam chowder ($5 cup) that I really enjoyed. It had lots of bacon in it. My daughter had a Porch Rocker ($11) and had an interesting taste. She was not crazy about it so I drank it. This new back section is really nice. Tasteful décor and just comfortable. I can see myself coming here for a late night snack and drink with my friends or (by myself because the waiter made us feel so welcomed). This was Swansboro Food and Beverage. My understanding is that it is the same owner who bought it a bit ago and has now changed the name.

    Perfect pork chop
    Andrew J.

We came to check out this place for the first time. The restaurant is nice enough. It's nothing fancy but the food is definitely the star of the show. The pork chop was a standout in this meal, perfectly cooked to retain its moisture and packed with flavor. Each bite was tender, and the juicy texture was complemented by a delicious pineapple salsa, adding a refreshing, tangy-sweet balance. Paired with creamy mashed potatoes and crisp green beans, the dish felt complete and satisfying. The rich gravy on the potatoes was a comforting touch, and the green beans had just the right amount of crunch. Overall, a hearty and flavorful meal that was both well-balanced and enjoyable!

Location: resturant located next to riverwalk park Parking: plenty of space and easy to get in and out of Food: excellent food. chicken sandwich came with an extra a diablo sauce which was spicy and flavorful. build the garden burger was a great vegetarian option with plenty of toppings to choose from. both fries and sweet potato fires were excellently seasoned and crispy. tempted by the reeses cheesecake which was a special for the holiday time was absolutely delicous, creamy and housemade Service: Beth our server was fanatasic and incredibly friendly. gave great suggestions about things to do in the area and provided such a warm welcoming atmosphere . Ambience: open dining area, with simple seaside decor. very family friendly.

Poppin shrimp burger and fried mushrooms
    Jeff F.

Excellent lunch spot. Ordered a poppin shrimp burger with fried mushrooms, and was not disappointed. Shrimp was delicious and the fried mushrooms were some of the best I've ever had. Great service and a nice spot on the water. Came back again for the same thing but with fried okra...also freakin delicious

Swordfish with creamy risotto (The catch of the day)
    Mae M.

Overall, the food was tasty. Parts of the rice of the risotto was a little undercooked but the swordfish was cooked to perfection and was much bigger than expected! The shrimp gumbo was very flavorful but maybe just a tad bit salty for my taste. Fiancé loved it though! Fiancé and future mom-in-law ordered the upside down pineapple cake martini. It was okay. Both weren't fond of the pineapple juice they used. Nor did it taste like the cake.. Other than the drink, we enjoyed our time there.

    Mimosa was delish!

Why do most of the food have "price varies" beside it?

I just went over their online menu and did not see any listed that way. However being a seafood restaurant I can imagine it would be due to market price and availability.

The best part about those outreach clinics was lunch with the school nurses. It's how I found all the locals places. Yana's was our Swansboro go to and despite moving away in 2011 and just now going back, the food was just as delicious today as it was then. And everyone who has dined repeatedly at a favorite place knows things rarely stay (or taste) the same. Bestie & hit Yana's shortly after 11 this beautiful Saturday morning and even though there were 4 parties ahead of us, we barely waited 15 minutes. I've had alot of the items on the menu during those outreaches (and with family) and never had anything I didn't enjoy but today, I went with breakfast of a western omelet (minus the sausage & tomato) with hashbrowns (home fries) and toast. My omelet had fresh green peppers, perfectly cooked, griddle bacon and cheesy cheese. I just wanted to keep eating but I was getting full. Bestie & I also had a combination order of banana & apple fritters. My food was just as I remembered-DEEEEELICIOUS! And our fritters just makes me want to go back in a few days to see if they have strawberries in supply. Honestly, I would drive from our new home in Richlands down to S'boro every weekend if hubby would let me lol. If you decide to dine here & are put off by the wait, don't be. Get on the wait list & do a little shopping. You won't regret it. Ps, omelet didn't last long enough for a pic!

I would like to suggest that the host/hostess (who was not busy) should be checking around to see if customers need anything when wait staff is short handed. He could have easily filled my glass with water or could have told Breyanna we were ready for out ticket. The property owner needs to change the parking signs to let us know that we can also park where the Looking Glass used to be.

One approaches a kitchen promising Low Country simplicity with a certain, shall we say,…read moreapprehension. One anticipates the rustic, the unvarnished truth, and Boro, to its credit, provides precisely this necessary theatrical context. The cuisine, blessedly free of the contemporary chef's compulsion to smother and complicate, is a profound exercise in elemental preparation. The seafood, whether grilled, broiled, or steamed, is allowed to speak for itself--a rare instance of culinary honesty achieved by the pure elimination of extraneous sauces. It is simple, yes, but in its unwavering pursuit of purity, it is undeniably good. The atmosphere adheres to its premise, rustic. It serves as an apt, unfussy framework that successfully prevents the food from aspiring to a sophistication it neither possesses nor requires. Furthermore, the personnel display a most peculiar, yet welcome, characteristic--they are friendly. And the kitchen seems determined to defeat the human condition of hunger through sheer volume, the quantities are nothing if not plentiful. And yet, even in such a steadfastly honest establishment, the shadow of imperfection must fall. In this recent visitation, the hush puppies, those humble tokens of Southern hospitality, lacked the grace and essential character they possessed in prior recollections. This is a small, tragic failure--a momentary lapse in the otherwise consistent tapestry of taste. It is a singular, nearly unforgivable misstep in a dish so fundamental, but one which fails to crumble the entire enterprise. Boro Low Country Kitchen, continue this earnest, unpretentious work.
