What a hidden gem! We stopped in to grab a late night dinner a little after 10pm. Excellent service - fast, friendly, accurate- by the bartender! Food was really tasty! We got wings, fried shrimp, and a Caesar salad with blackened chicken. We were tired, so we didn't stay, but they had a great deejay, too. Nice little hole in the wall bar I'd call it. Has at the bar seatings as well as tables inside and outside and a few pool tables. The bartenders are usually the servers as well and are attentive, friendly and very helpful. The beer is always cold and the food is great. I would always get the trashcan fries I believe they called. I got them last time I was here and they were fantastic. I also got the Thai chili wings which was so good and flavorful. The main food, not as good as it looks. The burger my boyfriend got had a hair in it, he gave it a second chance after taking it out and found it to be super dry. I got the wings, almost bone dry. There was only one good wing out of the six I ordered. Didn't get any drinks but very much have that gut feeling where you should "only order the bar food" like the finger foods. The food was delicious! I ordered the honey mild boneless wings with fries and a yummy tequila sunrise. I was greeted outside as I had my service dog in training with me and preferred to sit out. My server was very friendly and helpful towards me and my dog. She even offered brought out water for her. The vibes outside were nice as the weather has finally cleared up from the storm. If you want halfway decent bar food, that took 45 minutes to get (burger, wings, and a wrap) cooked by a chef that was picking his nose and scratching his beard (seen through window), then this is the place for you. However, if you are going for yourself, to watch a game and have a few drinks you're prob ok. While visiting the area and taking in the sights, we stopped at Riptidez for a quick snack to go. We saw the good reviews on Yelp. The restaurant does seem to be a place appreciated by the locals. While not flashy on the outside, give it a chance and go on in! It is a bar but we felt comfortable standing inside waiting for our order. They do have quite a menu to choose from. Went for my first time... was really looking forward to a cheeseburger. We went in and it smelled so good! However, the music (at 6:00) was so loud the 4 of us literally couldn't hear each other at our table. Debated on what to do and decided it was just too intolerable! Up until yesterday I would have always recommended this local favorite of mine! Yesterday was one of the worst customer service I've experienced as a female patron. Nicole the former bar manager has moved on and is sorely missed the new girls behind the bar so busy flirting w men they ignore the females waiting to order and handed me my ticket after removing my plate of food and beer I had to flag them down for without even asking if I was done.. that was a first for me. Nothing rude said just clearly could careless for my business. Much different than how I'm used to being treated at this place! Usually a fun place regardless of who u are. All types welcome and best wings around but damn ... learn to say hi ask if they're done would like anything else or say hey what's up?-something don't ignore the female patrons if females don't like coming to your bar that's 60-% and men will eventually stop coming it's good business and that is what they're running.. right the idea is to increase profit not take away. I'm surprised nobody has written a review about this place yet - It's been there for a long time. Maybe it's because it's a local hangout and they want to keep it that way? If you're looking for ambience and fancy decor - forget it! It's a dark 'dive' with pool tables, grafitti on the ceiling, only 4 or 5 tables, etc, but it's very friendly. There's a mixed crowd - from rednecks to retirees. We always go before 9 pm and have never seen any rowdiness. I've seen a few familes with kids at the early dinner hours and I saw them change one of the TV's to Nick for the little ones the last time we were in. Handmade, juicy pattie perfectly balanced with cheese and bacon on a soft bun. The beer battered onion rings were crispy on the outside and tender onion in the center. The chicken wrap was pressed, served warm and delicious!! The side house salad is an interesting blend of chopped flavors. We had the blue cheese dressing with ours. It was creamy with chunks of blue cheese. Overall this place was unexpectedly delightful. I've been going here for awhile and recently (4 April 2017 @ 4pm est) I stopped in with my 88 year old Mother in Law, after our Doctor Appts. She had only been here once and wasn't happy because her burger bun was toasted. Now, this was not the restaraunt's fault, she forgot to tell them not to toast it. I always have the Grilled Chicken salad because it is absolutely delicious! Now, I've been waiting to stop in here for months but because of my medical condition I haven't had the money to spend, even though I would give my right arm for their salad and their ranch dressing. I even had one of the bartenders order me a bottle of the ranch dressing a year ago and was going to order another bottle, but never got the chance. We sat down at a table closest to the kitchen because we came up the handicapped ramp for her. We sat there for 20 minutes and no one came over and asked what we would like to eat or drink. The place wasn't busy at all and the lady bartender even said hi, as she walked back to the bar to get another table's beers. There was another local who had come in, as well, and said "I need to see a menu please". She got her menu, her beer and we still sat there and watched. Even some of the guys at the bar noticed that I kept turning around and looking at the bartender to see if I could catch her attention, but they never said anything to her either and it's not their job to do so. I do not normally complain about restaraunts but I was very disappointed on this day. I had been waiting so long to get this salad and I had convinced her to "try again" and get whatever she wanted since I was buying. I finally told her, "let's go. I'm tired of sitting here hungry and no one is even paying us any attention." We got up and walked out the door. I, at least, thought someone would've said something to us but NOPE.
