Ioanni's Grill is one of those places that may feel like a casual neighborhood bar when you walk in, but the food consistently punches way above expectations. The prices are reasonable, portions are generous, and honestly, most everything we've tried has been really good. Their Greek salad is one of my favorites -- fresh, flavorful, and big enough to make a meal, especially when you add blackened shrimp, buffalo shrimp, chicken, or whatever protein you're in the mood for. They also make great pizzas, wings, and subs. My husband and I will sometimes split a sub because they're so generous with portions. What really keeps us coming back, though, is the atmosphere and the people. It's relaxed, unpretentious, and the staff are always friendly and easy to interact with. We traveled to Atlantic Beach and were there for about five days. We always try to sample new restaurants each time that we visit. Ioanni's Grill is definitely a hangout for the locals. Just about everyone that came through the door knew at least one other person at the bar. They had several specials the evening that we went and I opted for Jeff's homemade turkey and rice soup and the grilled cheese. It was delicious! I don't know Jeff, but I swear my grandmother was the one making the soup in that kitchen...yummy!!! you can tell by the picture that I had already finished half of the grilled cheese before I remembered to take a pic. The soup was very filling and they definitely didn't skimp on any of the ingredients. We will be back the next time we visit Atlantic Beach! read more

The bartender Tiana was the rudest waitstaff I've ever encountered, and when we asked for a different server (which we've never done before) she said good luck getting any food. Later my wife lost her wedding ring, and upon panicking the bar tender shouted "karma is a b****", the wildest experience I've ever had with a restaurant. We always like the food. Guy who greets is very rude and unhelpful. First he snapped at us for standing inside to wait. Gave us a pager and Said he would let us know if two seats at the bar came available. We saw two couples walk in and realized they got bar seats that we couldn't see from outside. When I inquired a second time why he didn't call us he said it's not his problem, it's first come first served. When I said I'll just go somewhere else he replied "great." The crab bread was to die for and the wings were some of the best I've ever had- a Wednesday special no Less ...75 cents. Steady stream of what seemed like locals for our entire visit. I called my order in and the woman on the phone was very polite and answered the one or two questions I had. My boyfriend and I got the cheese pizza and the wings! We walked in and we're quickly helped by a very nice server. I also appreciated that the bartender made sure we had been helped too. Super cute inside, lots of football flags, definitely the spot to watch the game! Now to the food...let's just say I now have a fave spot to go to when we visit because the pizza AND the wings were 10/10!!! Absolutely delicious, I was upset when I finished. This was our first trip to Atlantic Beach and we arrived later than we planned. This grill was one of the few still open with decent ratings so we decided to give it a try. I placed our order as I was driving otw to pick up our food. The gentleman who answered the phone was extremely helpful in recommending items. We got a large pepperoni pizza and 10 wings, took his recommendation for the grilled hot wings. They have lots of flavors to choose from! Upon arrival, I had to wait for my food a bit which was expected since the drive was only about 10 minutes from our hotel. The waitress who brought me my good even carried it out to my car without me asking or expecting her to. Very thoughtful and helpful service! Im a pretty nice guy, very easy going. if you have kids don't bring them here. I was considering just leaving and taking them to Mcdonalds Play Place. First impression, the place reminded me of a strip club minus the good looking women. Our waitress smelled like cigarettes and b.o. More than im used to. The food was nothing special. Seemed like most was probably frozen and just fried to serve. Very loud in there with TVs running. Service was not seen hardly at all. I should have known better when I parked in the back and saw staff smoking and talking on their phone. Only go there if you are unable to find anything else or just in a rush. read more

I have been coming here for years, granted I had a ten year gap when I lived in Chapel Hill, but even on my visits here to see family, I have never had a bad thing at Ioannis! It's one of my go-tos during the week and on the weekends. All of the staff here is incredible; quick service, with a smile, and a really fun time. All of the salads are top hits (the greek is out of this world). Every wrap I've tried from here has pretty much always been my favorite thing. The shrimp are always cooked to perfection. The subs and and nachos are on point. And of course, the best wings in town! Truly, the whole menu is great! They make great drinks and have an awesome selection of beers, alcoholic and n/a. Treated the staff to a chicken bacon ranch pizza and a sub yesterday. It is amazing and the pizza was probably one of the best I've ever had. Tons of flavor, great toppings, cooked to perfection and the dough was out of this world. I also LOVE the fact that they deliver without using DoorDash/UberEats. Where to start here ‍.. tried to call in a take out order but as usual the line is always busy so I went up to put my take out order in when I arrived I asked the hostess if I could place a take out order she informed me that it had ti be done at the bar. The dining area had several empty booths the bar was full and the two bartenders seemed very over whelmed as people were standing waiting for drinks and food. As I waited to place my order a couple beside me that had been there for who knows how long had their food come out .. well I should say the ladies came out the gentleman's came out 15 mins after hers .. the so called manger finally got behind the bar and took my order afterwards he came from around the bar and was talking and I told him that they need to have their phone lines fixed so call in orders could be placed and what the hostess told me about having g to place my order at the bar as I noticed 4 waitress standing in the back not doing anything he said that they should and could have taken it instead of going to correct the issue he walked back to their "huddle" place and began to play and joke with them. This place is the very best food we have had in the area by far AND the service was the very best as well.
