We came in within a few hours of opening so keep in mind they are just figuring things out. This is going to be a great place to stop into before hitting the beach or taking out the boat. Stock up on drinks, sandwiches and ice or drop in afterwards for a good meal and friendly staff. The restaurant may seem odd at first until you realize it's technically a convenience store because of zoning. Seating is limited due to the zoning restrictions. Pros Friendly engaged staff and owner. Elevated lunch items straight forward breakfast. More soft drink selections than you will find at any restaurant anywhere. Prepared foods, chips and drinks are ready for takeout. Beer and wine are coming once they get a permit. My burger had thick slices of beefsteak tomatoes. Good tasting meat and three onion rings on it. Cons (Again keep in mind they just opened) Your at a breakfast/brunch place, syrup, jelly, salt and pepper should be on all tables (they are still working this out). Although there was a ton of staff, service was slow even though they can only seat 35 people right now. This is a workflow issue that will improve quickly. I ordered a burger, medium rare, got a well done burger. Fries needed salt. Onion rings were refrigerator cold inside. My wife's omelette was prepared as if made by a child but tasted good. The burger bread was thick, dense and hard. A softer less expensive bun is preferred by most people. This felt like a soft opening. Many simple and obvious things were not in place but that's ok, they'll figure all that out within a day or two. Everything was clean bright and the staff was eager to please. We have high hopes for them and wish them every success!

Had the rapcakes benedict. They were delicious! Selected gritty's as the side and they were also delicious!

Love Andy & John. They left Angie's Lighthouse Cafe to start this enterprise. These two have brought the same wonderful food, great service, and welcoming environment to Compass Grill. We are faithful patrons.

One approaches a kitchen promising Low Country simplicity with a certain, shall we say,…read moreapprehension. One anticipates the rustic, the unvarnished truth, and Boro, to its credit, provides precisely this necessary theatrical context. The cuisine, blessedly free of the contemporary chef's compulsion to smother and complicate, is a profound exercise in elemental preparation. The seafood, whether grilled, broiled, or steamed, is allowed to speak for itself--a rare instance of culinary honesty achieved by the pure elimination of extraneous sauces. It is simple, yes, but in its unwavering pursuit of purity, it is undeniably good. The atmosphere adheres to its premise, rustic. It serves as an apt, unfussy framework that successfully prevents the food from aspiring to a sophistication it neither possesses nor requires. Furthermore, the personnel display a most peculiar, yet welcome, characteristic--they are friendly. And the kitchen seems determined to defeat the human condition of hunger through sheer volume, the quantities are nothing if not plentiful. And yet, even in such a steadfastly honest establishment, the shadow of imperfection must fall. In this recent visitation, the hush puppies, those humble tokens of Southern hospitality, lacked the grace and essential character they possessed in prior recollections. This is a small, tragic failure--a momentary lapse in the otherwise consistent tapestry of taste. It is a singular, nearly unforgivable misstep in a dish so fundamental, but one which fails to crumble the entire enterprise. Boro Low Country Kitchen, continue this earnest, unpretentious work.
