I was in search of a new nail salon because I was not too pleased with my other options and I remembered seeing this new salon in the heart of Annadale...my daughter and I were celebrating her birthday and she wanted her first gel manicure. I had the moldy color looking nails from X salon so I asked if they could remove the light concept cut the nails clean them up and get a gel manicure. I was charged 3 to remove that ugly stuff and thankfully it was just the color gone bad and off it went with the light concept. The prices are very reasonable...it could be because they recently opened and I was very happy about it. The place is new and very clean. The ladies that did our nails were kind and pleasant as were the rest of the staff. The choices of color are all the shades of Opi that I love. We walked out of there with perfect nails! We'll be back there to try their pedicure. This will be our new place for gel manicures! read more

**Avoid This Place - Unprofessional and Rude Staff** I had an absolutely terrible experience at Wendy's Star Nail. The staff here are incredibly rude and unprofessional. One of the male nail technicians was extremely aggressive with a customer, hurting her in the process. When she politely asked him to slow down, he *yelled at her* and *refused to finish her nails*! I've never seen such unprofessional behavior in a salon before. On top of that, there is *no proper ventilation* on the tables. To make matters worse, there was *nail powder everywhere*--on the counters, the floor, even floating in the air. It's clear that cleanliness and customer service are not priorities here. Save your money and go somewhere else where the staff actually respect their customers and maintain a clean environment. I would never recommend this place to anyone! read more

This used to be my favorite go-to salon! I'm a few weeks post partum and I decided to treat myself to a mani/pedi and this is what they look like 4 DAYS later! I think they're using too much thinner in the bottles. Looks like I need a new nail place. Not worth the money for a few days of decent looking polish read more

It was my first time there and I think I've found my new go-to nail salon!! Most of the team (I only say most since I didn't speak to everyone) was very nice, patient, and gentle! The only complaint I have is that there weren't as many non-gel nail polish options as I'd hoped, but they still had lots of nice shades! The prices are not bad at all, I got a very nice manicure for $10! Would definitely recommend this place! read more

Wendy's Star Nail better count their days. I usually do my own nails, but I figured let me treat myself and get my nails done. I go in to get tips and a dip powder manicure. It took them two hours to do my nails, then, when I went to go dry my nails, it looked like the clearcoat they put on top was spreading because of the air from the dryer. So I asked him if he could redo it, he redid it, and it happened again. At this point, he then had to file off the top coat and put another coat on top of that. You were then able to tell they were filed and texture of the polish under the topcoat was rough. It was then closing time and once the top coat dried they said "Okay goodbye" and rushed me out the door. The is the first time in my entire life that I've written a yelp review, but I feel it's necessary. They messed up my nails, not once, not twice but THREE times and they were so eager to leave that they rushed me out the door without them being done correctly. I then had to go home and fix my own nails. Like I said, I decided to treat myself and sitting there for 2 1/2 hours, I ended up still having to do my own nails anyway. read more

this place does a good job with pedicures, i have to say i've come here throughout the summer and i've left pretty happy especially for the price point. however today i came with my boyfriend for pedicures, as his birthday is tommorow and he's having a pool party. after a wait they seated us and told me mine would be 18 but his would be 28 because he NEEDED a spa pedicure since he's a man. my boyfriend didn't want a full treatment he wanted a simple cleanup on his nails and should've been able to pay the same as me since he was getting clear polish over. while my toes were drying they came up asking for my money and that's when i told them i found it unfair my boyfriend was excluded from a regular pedicure and then they proceeded to yell at me and tell me every nail salon does it. even if it's true, they were extremely rude and not listening to me. needless to say i won't be returning to a place that isn't inclusive and fair. read more

absolutely horrible. if i could id give this star a zero. i told him a length and he cut it even shorter than what i wanted after he proceeded to argue with me. the lines are not any where close to smooth , the two colors are blended together, my french smile line is jagged on some fingers, didn't remove the strings from filling, barely clipped my cuticles, they charged me for length and he didn't even give me the length i wanted and to top it all off i was there for three hours; and my nails aren't even fully dry!!!!! absolutely disgusted. not ever be coming there again. read more

Was super disappointed with my experience there. May did my spa pedicure, which consisted of 15 minutes of her smearing lotion around the top of my calf. Worst massage I ever had I was literally trying not to laugh in her face. I wanted a quick color change on my nails (I just got them done last week but didnt love the color) & she asked me 15 times if I wanted a fill in and was going back and fourth with me and almost MAD at me for saying I didn't need one. She was also 100% talking about me in Chinese to the other staff. That's one thing I don't fu*k with. So BYE GIRL. read more

Was looking for a new nail salon in the area & I'm so glad I chose to come here. $20 for mani/pedi was a steal! & this place is super clean and nice. I was happy to see they use new plastic liners for the pedicure bath. I also liked that I got a good foot massage during the pedicure (some places skimp on this) & after my manicure she gave me a nice shoulder massage, it was needed! I walked out feeling relaxed & loving my nails. Think I found my new nail place! :) read more

Affordable, clean and if you go in with a pic they can apparently make magic! I wanted a very... blingy, for lack of a better word, manicure for NYE & my birthday celebrations, and as a winter baby I loved when a friend showed me a snowflake manicure she'd gotten here. I showed a pic of that gem and then a silver to black ombre and the manicurist made it happen. With a fill and nail art it was $28 - not at all bad. It's not a fancy establishment by any means but that's kind of how I like it, anyway. Good job, decent experience, very pretty nails. read more

First off, this was a door dash so Wendy's must not feel it affects their business the same as in person. No kids toys in either kids meal. The order of spicy nuggets were trash, over cooked and left in the hot lighting for awhile. Couldn't get the sauces correct either. All of this is on a screen for these people to do what they're told. There is no room for error when what you have to do is in your face. Won't be using this Wendy's again. read more

I was in need of a manicure and was glad that I chose to come here. I got acrylic tips for $25 and they did a great job. They have a large selection of polishes and they look very clean. I moved out to Staten Island about 8 years ago. I have tried numerous nail salons. I wasn't happy with any until I came to Wendy's. Most places are overpriced and not as clean.. Star nails is always clean.. Wendy is so pleasant. She and her husband are such nice people. They both do nails so well. I have gone in when my nails were a wreck. Each and every time they fix me up, make my nails look natural and beautiful. If you have an appointment, you will never wait. If you want a pedicure Ida is your girl. She is great with a massage and always pleasant. My mom started coming from Bklyn just for Ida. read more

I never really write reviews, but I have tried so many nail places all over the island and even in brooklyn. I have never got such great customer service, and such beautiful nails for a good price! I went here with my mom to get an acrylic fill in and NOT EVEN 24 HOURS after I went my middle finger nail broke in half. I went back and they fixed it with no charge but the lady was really lazy about it and did it super quick. When I got home I noticed the nail she fixed was really thick compared to my other middle finger nail. She didn't buff it enough. Just now a different nail also broke in half and it's been 5 days since I initially got them done. Therefore, 2 NAILS BROKE IN LESS THAN A WEEK. You would think the first week of getting the fill would make them stronger than ever but they didn't even survive 7 days. I used to love this place but they are no longer getting my business. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. read more

I really love it here! It's consistently good. I've gotten tips, mani, pedis, callus treatments. Their nail polish isn't old and gross and they have a good enough selection. It's super clean and everyone have a nice and welcoming personality. I've had several technicians work on me and they are all good except one.. so I just avoid that person. But everyone else does a lovely job and has great mannerisms. Clean and relaxing! read more

i needed to get a mani/pedi for vacation, and I was excited to see there is a new Star Nails in Annadale. If you are familiar with this area, this new location is across the street from the original Star Nails, which is now Creative Nails. I had been going to Star nails for YEARS on and off and I missed that place. As it turns out, most of the old Star Nails staff that I knew and loved is at this new location. I made an appointment, and was taken right away. Spa pedicure was great. There was great care and time taken with me, although the salon was busy at times. Gel manicure was great and you even get a shoulder massage as your nails dry. Very relaxed, quiet environment, as nail places should be. Not hectic, loud or crazy like the other salons in town. I def found my new nail salon. Cant wait to go back!! read more

They're really clean and I like that they use liners for pedicures; however, I got a gel manicure done like a sparkly purple, and it only lasted around three days as opposed to two weeks. For the 25$ it wasn't worth it. read more

I was going to an expensive nail salon, where my mom ended up having a bad experience (she got a fungus!) after that, I needed to find a good salon that did light concept gel and had a lot of gel colors to choose from. I then came here from a friends referral and I'm so happy i did. I got a light concept fill in and was pleased to see they used the same gel as the previous salon i went to... for over $20 cheaper on my fill in. Here, they did an even better job . I'm sticking with this salon. The staff are nice. Amy did my nails and she did a great job. This is my go to spot and i will be recommending this nail salon to my friends and family. read more

I tried this place on a whim in hopes of finding a good nail place in Annadale. So I must say I was impressed. Not only are the prices amazing they do amazing work. I got an acrylic filling and they honestly could have lasted an extra week but I wanted a change after my normal 2 weeks. The staff is nice and actually cares about what you want. They strive to make your nails how you want them. I like how my nail technician would constantly ask if I liked it. They are a great nail salon. I will be going back! read more

Friendly, affordable, clean and attentive. I've been looking for a neighborhood salon that does the UV Gel (Light Concept Nails) for a decent price and this place is it. $25 for a fill-in. I had a bit of a crazy experience the first time as during the middle of my session, I started feeling unwell/dizzy and almost passed out due to some vasovagal issues. They were super nice about it and let me rest on their couch and got me water. Five stars for hospitality. read more

this place is actually terrible. i just got my nails done and i've stayed silent for way too long. i've been going there for maybe 2 years. when i first started going, they were amazing. then up until this year, they just got worse and worse. every-time i go to get my nails done, they file my nails so crooked it's unbelievable. yes, i tell them 3 times each time i go to fix the shape of the nails but i guess they don't know what a square nail looks like. they leave nail polish on your nails very lumpy and crooked. i also had tips on today and asked the lady to cut them only a tiny bit and she cut off my whole nail. so i currently have no tips on anymore:/ they just lost me and my mother as customers. ridiculous read more

No no no! At Least no for gel nails. I got mine done in February and I'm STILL trying to fix my nails from the horrible damage that was done. The nails started coming loose within a week and then once they fell off there were permanent lines on my nails from the gel. During the process I told my manicurist several times that my nails felt like they were burning but she just insisted it was okay. Never coming back here again. read more
