Since I was 18 years old. My whole family comes here. Today my Father had a 1:00 PM appointment and was sitting there until 1:20 PM. No one addressed him to tell him that they were running behind and he had to pick my mother up from work at a specific time so he left and called the salon to tell them that he left and that he wasn't happy. When he called, a customer answered the phone. He didn't know it was a customer so he told them that he had a 1 o'clock appointment. He was sitting there for 20 minutes and no one said anything to him so he left and the customer responded with well. I had a 12 o'clock appointment and began rudely arguing with him. My father said that his family has been coming there for years and she said well then tell your family don't come here anymore. Completely unprofessional to have a customer answer the phone and talk to another customer however they want. I called the salon to ask for an explanation as to why they allowed a customer to answer their phone and treat my father that way, and the woman on the phone, Anna, responded because the customer wanted to. I then asked them if they let customers do whatever they want and she said it was because the owner did not speak English. I told him they could've had any worker that does speak English translate, ann not had a customer rudely answer the phone and argue with my father, and she responded that she could not control what the customer said. I told her that she could absolutely control who answers the phone and asked her if she thought it was professional to run a business that way, and she asked me what I wanted her to do about it very rudely. She then told me Jennifer would call me back and hung up on me. The lady on the phone was totally rude, kept trying to justify the actions of the owner and the customer, and did not apologize once. With Jennifer, there or not, someone could have still called my father or us and apologized for that act of unprofessionalism today and for allowing him to be attacked by another customer right in front of them due to their unprofessionalism and having a customer answer the phone. They just justified it by saying that they could not control what a customer said. I have been recommending this nail salon to everyone for years and unfortunately, I will never step foot in here again because of the amount of unprofessionalism that was displayed today. I am BEYOND shocked. This woman was giving me attitude on the phone as if she was the victim. The woman who spoke to my father, that way should've been kicked out of the salon immediately, and my father should have gotten an apology and not justification.

I get home and wait for the redness to go away and then I saw that a whole line up my thigh was NOT done...from knee to hip. The next day (today) I see that there are more lines/patches that still have hair, so now I need to Nair what was missed. The whole purpose of getting waxed was so I didn't have to worry about my legs for my cruise this week. They may be excellent with nails, I will give them a shot at my pedicure tomorrow, but they need to improve their waxing skills before I go back for that service. ADDITIONAL REVIEW: I was contacted by the salon after posting the original review and they did the right thing! They offered to redo my waxing as the original technician was on a trial basis, she was not hired. They also gave me a discount on my pedi, which came out awesome. The girl who was doing my pedicure seemed new and it took very long which was fine by me but I noticed she painted my nails before putting my sandals back on, luckily when I put them on they didn't smudge. My mom finished her pedicure first and was waiting for a manicure, once my pedicure was done they asked me to come to the manicure chair and I explained it was my mom who was getting the manicure, not me, so they had my mom waiting for probably 15 minutes because there was a misunderstanding about who was getting what. Finally, once they started my mom's gel manicure they rushed and it seemed that the polish didn't cure properly because her thumb nail got scuffed when getting into the car which doesn't typically happen with gel. Overall my experience here wasn't bad, however I didn't appreciate that my mother's gel manicure was rushed because of a misunderstanding on their part.

I followed their IG and saw the gel mani promotion, so i made an appointment with them for a gel mani-pedi section. I first was kind of upset because I almost drove passed as its hidden inside the lot. However, thank god there was a mini parking lot attached to it, so i didn't have to look around for parking. I was the last appointment and the store was a bit quiet. It was a very cozy place and filled with interesting nail designs on the wall. I always have plain color on my nails, however, I think I will definitely try one or two simple designs the next time. Maggie was my nail specialist and I really can't thank her enough!! I have really bad ingrown nails and she did a great job cutting and cleaning up the mess for me!! Besides great service, I loved how they have one time use pedi tools (bag to cover the tub, buffer and file) for each customer, plus, they sanitize the cutting tools again after taking out from the UV light box! After my mani-pedi section, I decided to do my brow and lip waxing too as I found it quite cheap ($7 and $6) on the menu. There was a massage chair in the waxing room, so I thought I should try that next time as well:) The total of everything was $53, which is not bad at all! I live in CA but I do go back to visit NY a few times during the year. I am very particular with my nails and toes, so I have been visiting many so called 5 stars salon on the island. Few days ago, I came across a very cute salon in Great Kills and fell in love with it. Ivy was my nail specialist and her work is amazing! I deal with ingrown nails on my big toes, so I get a pedicure every two to three weeks no exceptions. The first few visits were a bit painful, but now they know my tolerance and exactly how to work with my feet. They also remember my preferences and even show me new colors they think I'll like. I often skip the manicure once in a while because regular polish chips too easily, and gel can weaken my nails over time. The staff is friendly and the space is spotless. It's on the pricier side, but totally worth it once they know you and your routine. Sometimes you pay for the experience and here, it delivers. Definitely give them a try.
