Food was normal Wendy's fare, but every step I took in the dining room was sticky. The trash was overflowing. Every table was dirty. I mean they really needed to send one crew member out to at least take out the trash and wipe half the tables! I get that mopping may not be able to happen, but dang it was gross. It's a shame too because this location has the modern remodeling and looks nice but you can tell the staff or manager isn't taking pride in keeping it clean. In the car and heading home, well, it was a disappointment. The burger was assembled properly but just not hot. The cheese was barely melted. The nuggets were spicy but also, not hot. DISGUSTING!!!! I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich with fries and to my surprise, it was the most REVOLTING thing ive ever seen. The skin of the sandwich was SLIMY, PINK, and DISCONNECTED from the chicken. It made SICK to my stomach, it was simply not edible. Wendy's is doing breakfast! My wife and I tried the honey-butter chicken biscuit; bacon, egg and cheese biscuit; potato wedges; and the vanilla Frosty-cino. All were good. The biscuits were soft with crunch around the edges and had a nice buttery saltyness to them. They're not as big as Bojangles biscuits, and that's not a good thing. Otherwise, we liked them. The honey-butter chicken was a fantastic sweet and meat flavor combo! The potatoes were quite good, but again I think the Bo Rounds at Bojangles are better. My wife's egg was interesting--more like an egg white with a fully done yolk in the middle. Good taste. Looked a little different. Wendy's is billing its eggs as fresh and not frozen squares, so maybe that's why so different. (That's ironic since they're known for square burger patties.) The Frosty-cino tasted like the name says. It was like a combo Frosty and coffee, almost the Wendy's cold take on an afogato. We want to try more breakfast items, particularly the hot coffee, to see how good it is. Service here is usually meh and downright awkward. I've had multiple employees just stare at me creepily. Seriously, it's just odd. But the folks at breakfast were cheerful in the drive-thru. I live on the 4 for 4 and I cannot tolerate bread of heavy carbs. I order the burger and take off the bread and switch out the fries for chili. Ruben decides to tell me that this is not allowed when i know for a fact that i do this three times a week in Charlotte and Rock Hill. Instead of trying to make people feel stupid, maybe he should tell the customer that this franchise owner has decided to not honor what is done at all the other Wendy's that I know of and allows no substitutions. read more

Came here for lunch. Went to the bathroom and no soap. Person beside me in the stall was an employee. I know because I watched her come out. There was no soap so I know she didn't wash her hands. She used sanitizer when she came out. I'm sorry but after using the bathroom, hands need to be washed thoroughly. I ordered nuggets and got a chicken sandwich, and the burger I ordered had literally only one of the four things I ordered on it. the nuggets my boyfriend got were the complete wrong kind. I thought they gave us the wrong order at first but our drinks and the number of fries were right, so I think they just messed up. we all have bad days but I really don't see how this happens so frequently. read more

I ate at Wendy's last night with a group of friends and I am still impressed. Their food is definitely quite near the top when it comes to fast food dining (few places have hamburgers as good as Wendy's) and the fries are excellent. Very flavorful and nicely salted; not too much salt, but not too little, either. We had 8 people in our party on a busy Wednesday evening and all of our food made it out within 10 minutes or less nice, hot, and accurate. They also have two of the Freestyle drink machines with some unique options such as Dave's Cherry Cream Soda and Dave's Berry Different Root Beer. read more

I love the Wendy's products, especially their salads. But the "service" at the Shelby Wendy's is by far the worst of any of the many Wendy's I visit on an almost daily basis. And it's consistently bad. I blame management for their disorganized store. They should change management or lose their franchise. Things are that bad!
