I ordered cheese tots and there was no cheese and they tried to charge me for more. Like hello I ordered CHEESE tots. Terrible service and experience and the food wasn't even good. Could not pay me to go back. Y'all need to do some fixing. read more

Waited for awhile couldn't place my order one guy cooked the girl was on her phone chating with whoever they both weren't doing there job went to Wendy's instead because they didn't care to do there jobs I would give them a big fat zerooooooooooo they should be fired in my opinion read more

First time I've ate at Shelby Sonic in 6 months.. Real good customer service.. My Chilli Cheese Coney was tasty. They're trying to do a good job. read more

They need sometime of manager. An adult would be best. The lack of customer service is crazy. It's sad really considering this was my go to spot in other cities. This franchise may need to sell off to someone who can actually work it. And don't order your food in advanced with the app they won't bring it out. Hell they don't even answer the red call button. I ordered my food 20 min ago and 10 cars after me got all their food. Wtf! read more

Services was terrible. It took over 20 minutes to get my food at the drive thru window. Nobody talked to me to tell me what the hold up was. I will never return. The owner needs to step in and get this place in shape. read more

I really never leave a review but I am so disappointed. Having to think about this for a few hours, this is what I have to say. I would give you a receipt but I never was given one on neither of my 2 order. I went to the one in Shelby,NC and it is only one. I got the double sonic burger and you can easily tell one patty had been cooked earlier and was hard and dry. A second fresh patty was put on this sandwich just to make it a double. I was/am so disappointed. I want you to care more about your customers and the quality of your food. I used to love your food but not as much anymore. Because you don't care your customers don't care to support you. Do better, ...I live in your neighborhood and will support you if the food was better. read more

Absolutely awful. Burger was literally soggy, and had a half inch of mayonnaise, no lettuce, and the tots were lukewarm. The LIMEADE DIDNT HAVE LIMES IN IT! It was plain Sprite!! When I brought the food back as "unacceptable " I was told it was "because we are busy". Don't waste your time read more

Terrible service. 15-20minute wait in drive thru for 1 plain burger and tots. No refund, rude service. Not going back here 05/06/23.

Would definitely score lower if I could. I received my order and was waiting for them to finish making a shake. While waiting I pulled a popcorn chicken from the bag ,started eating it and noticed it had a weird taste. I looked down at it and it was completely raw in the middle, also onion rings weren't cooked all the way. They offered a complimentary meal at this point no. Reached out to corporate,, talked to a representative but no one that has a title will contact me. Poor service all around. read more

Nice, clean and quick service. Nice to see smiling faces happy to serve us. Food came out in a timely manner and was correct I like the new ordering screens by the tables. Speakers are kind of hard to hear, and this confirms your order. read more

Sonic Drive-In - Burgers Near Me - Shelby, North Carolina

Well last time we were here, my fiancé and the manager got into it because we waited 30 minutes for them to even acknowledge us. The manager said we can just go if we were going to cause a scene because all we did was let another customer know how long we were waiting. Today, we are still waiting after 20 minutes of sitting. Someone else pulled in 5 mins after us and they acknowledged them before us. All we are trying to do is get freakin ice cream for us and two of the kids. I never had such an issue until I came to Shelby and for all I care, this location can shut down. Drug deals going on, employees fucking around on their phones, ignore customers. I was a sales manager at Aaron's and then was in accounts for the company, I could run this place better than the people who are now!!!!! THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE ALL FIRED AND REHIRE NEW STAFF!!!!! LAZIEST SET OF EMPLOYEES I HAVE EVER SAW!!!!!!!! read more

Believe the other reviews. We were the only ones in the lot and waited 30min. Our order was for 2 people.... Half the food was cold. Burgers looked like they were run over by a truck. Oh, and they still got the order wrong... read more

Expectations for Sonics are generally not too high to start with, but this one didn't even meet the minimum.

Absolutely horrible service...couldn't tell you what the food tastes like because the first time I rang the bell...no response....the second time I got a hang in....10 minutes after that...gave order to a frustrated woman....and that was it...finally gave up and left 20 minutes later. Waste of time and gas. Get it together Sonic! read more

The worst sonic ever. 7pm and the place was almost empty. I waited 20 minutes and could not get waited on. I think the staff was happy when I left. Needs management! read more

I know a lot of people have had bad experiences at this location but last night mine was very positive. My family decided to stop here for dinner for a special treat for my daughter. She wanted a corn dog with ketchup, I didn't want her to spill it in my car, so we decided to eat outside. I was hoping the outside ordering system would have been a touch screen, but they've updated some of it. It didn't take long for our food to come out, and everything was correct. Our server was very polite, making sure everything was correct and asked if we needed anything else. Our food was the right temperature and we didn't have any problems. I would definitely go back to this location for a quick bite to eat. read more

I have stoped at this off the path Sonic maybe six or eight times over the last few months while passing through Shelby. A couple of times the drive thru seemed a little slow but no worries because the staff has always been courteous the burgers have always been hot delicious and their sweet tea in crushed ice is spot on. read more

As a college student, my friends and I are stuck with very few options as far as affordable food chains, meaning we get tired of the same old food quickly. However, Sonic's app deals and the wonderfully greasy classics alongside the in-car dining environment create the perfect hangout for late-night grub runs...not to mention the slushes (treat yourself to a blue coconut ice cream slush; you won't regret it). Anywho. Special shoutout to Candace. We placed three separate orders tonight and not only did she handle us with patience, but she exhibited exemplary customer service. We love you, queen. read more

Not sure what's up with the low rating, but this was one of the best Sonic visits that we've had. Great god, fast service. What more do you need from a fast food spot? read more

There's something wrong with this Sonic, especially after it closed for renovations and re-management a time or two a few years back and then reopened. The service is always crazy slow. We've waited as long as 30-40 minutes for food before. I hate to say it, but one time we ended up leaving the drive-through since we hadn't paid, because we had somewhere we had to be and ended up just going without eating. The food's OK, I guess, but poor experiences have made us not really care about eating Sonic anywhere when there are other options available. read more

Sonic has a problem in Shelby. They are definitely understaffed and the food quality is sub par. Got there at 4:26 and did not get our food until 5:05 and the order was all wrong. We got the chili corn dogs and the chili looked like it had been setting out all day long. They now offer chili in a bowl but if that's how it's going to look and taste maybe sonic should rethink that whole idea. We ordered tots but got fries had to send those back. When we got our tots they where nasty and tasted like old grease. I'm thinking it's way past time for a new batch of grease. When the car hop got to the car I asked her what the deal was and she said it was just two of them working. This is unacceptable two people can not handle cooking, taking orders and serving the food. Amongst other duty's of the job. Management should close the doors instead of risking the loss of customers. You just set yourself up for failure. It's not fair for the employees or for the chain. read more

I ordered my food and I had to wait over 30 minutes till I actually got it.

Honestly if I could give 0 stars I would. Worst sonic experience ever. Been here multiple times and I cannot say I enjoy any of those experiences. The last time we visited we ordered 2 drinks during happy hour. We waited 45 mins and never got our order. We saw people come in after us, order their food, eat their food, and leave. We tried multiple times to ask what was going on with our order, and with the final time being told they lost our order. 2 drinks, 45 mins, "lost" order. read more

The worst EVER! I ordered a #2 a Sonic Double cheeseburger. It looked nothing like the photo. It was warm not hot. It was well done and dry. I have not been to a Sonic in 3 or so years. I was hoping it was going to be good. It was not. Stay clear of this location! I recieved no napkins or ketchup! I will not be back for awhile. read more

the service is slow and horrible. No napkins or straws were given and they looked bothered when we asked for them. The food was absolutely gross tasted old like freezer burn. Over all never going again! This place gives sonic a bad rep. read more

I ordered food with the rude ass order taker over talking me with "IS THAT ALL ? IS THAT ALL? IS THAT ALL" like no I'm fucking still trying to order damn than I while I'm waiting for 20 mins I get my fruit punch all to have the shit to taste like water from sitting and driving all of three mins home... Than I ordered boneless wings which are not cheap all for them to just sprinkle sauce on them. This is RIDICULOUS. Not to mention this is not the 1st run in I have had with them messing up my food but I tried to give them a chance never again I rather go to McDonald's where I know they might fuck up but remake it and not take 30 mins doing it and not pay a arm and a leg.. They need to be addressed by a manager or owner.... read more

Well, it's been nine months since our last visit to this Sonic. We parked, ordered, the order taker was nice, didn't rush us. Order was prompt, Cirn dogs warm, crunchy, good! Tots were good, but our drinks???? Watered down Coke with a smidge of Cherry flavor, NOT GOOD. And what happened to CHERRIES in a Cherry Coke??? No cherries at all!!! We won't be back to this SONIC. Huge disappointment. read more

Horrible service and cold food. Waited 40 minutes for two hotdogs and a couple drinks. Received a Sonic Blast in a cup that looked like it had a piece bitten off the rim. Don't even try. They don't care, and aren't afraid to show it. read more

This Sonic has been problematic in the past but it closed down last fall at some point for some extensive remodeling. I stopped here last night with a few folks (it seems like they're doing a grand re-opening or something) and the service was much quicker, the fixtures were all new and remodeled, and the milkshake I had was excellent. The servers were all nice (and all on roller skates!) and a manager checked on us a few times while we ate. read more

2/7 orders screwed up since coming here. Just check that your order has everything bc they have no quality control. The food us good but its a long wait. One of the two screw ups i got a large order of completely raw chicken popper things (insert gordon ramsey joke). It was completely raw and i was eating it while my wife drove at night. I didnt realize it until about the 3rd popper and turned on the light to see mostly pink nuggets. That is pretty dangerous! read more

they waited until they closed to tell us that our order wasn't on the screen. we have been waiting here for 40 minutes.

After multiple attempts, I'm giving up on this location. This is my third time back since they remodeled. I'm typing this as a spend a 25 minute wait frustrated by a screwed up order. Not sure if this location has poor management, a lack of staff, or both, but something is seriously wrong. read more

3rd time ordering online and waiting 30+ minutes on a simple order. this is the last time I will go to this location. the last order that did it was two milkshakes and they "completed" the order but didn't bring it out to me until I had to notify staff that I was still waiting on my order. this staff will complete orders just to pad their productivity numbers And forget that you exist. read more

So we thought it would be fun to take our convertible and sit at Sonic for dinner. Unfortunately our dog didn't cooperate so we had to leave and bring our food home. We ordered three items. A cheeseburger, which was not made as ordered, our shake was fine and the hotdog wasn't in the bag at all. So one of the three items was ok. Plus instead of the requested ketchup and mustard requested for the hotdog we had marinara sauce. Not sure what they thought that would go on. If this is how the reopened Sonic is going to be I imagine they'll be closed again soon or should be. I did call and they offered to make it right but I don't make Sonic a regular stop and that didn't fix the fact that we didn't have food. read more

ordered a rt 44 tea and hotdog on the app. it took over 30 minuted for the carhop, tyriq, to bring a menium tea out. He tried to argue that it was actually a rt 44, didn't even bring the hotdog. Finally went back in and came back 5 minutes later with the tea and a cold hotdog. Asked for manager but they refused to come out. tried to call from the phone and they wouldn't even answer the phone. Took the cold dog and tea to the front and the manager still wouldn't come out. After all this and seeing how nasty the place was inside I just threw the drink and dog in front of the door. I would never eat food from there seeing how dirty it was. read more

we waited 15 minutes in the stall till we found out they were only doing drive through along with 3 other customers then took 10+ minutes to get through the drive through even when other cars left cause how long they took and the food wasn't even good taste like everything microwaved the chicken and corn dogs were dry the cheese fries were cold and my fork cut through the cheese it was still pretty solid not melted at all the the buffalo sauce was watery like they put it in the microwave with the chicken so wasted almost 30 minutes waiting to get dry microwaved food overall terrible read more
