I wouldn't want to say that Ingles's has the lowest prices in the world but they do offer some pretty decent weekly specials. I deducted one star because the parking lot is cramped and the parking spaces seemed unusually tight. All things considered, this is a very good place to shop.

Keep an eye out for the "Aisle of Awesomeness" which changes often and includes all sorts of random stuff. Floor mats, tool sets, desk caddies, clothing, you'll never know what you'll find so you have to check it out for something you didn't know you needed. A couple nights ago I had entered this Ingles to pick up a few things after work, and this time I heard this lady yelling and swearing at her manager right in front of customers , the situation got extremely tense and overwhelming just by listening to it. Anyhoo, I think I haven't given them much respect in the past but all that is going change. This one is pretty laid back. It's not all frenetic like some grocery stores...maybe it's the lighting? They run good sales. They have an awesome Latin/Mexican section - ten feet of it are dedicated alone to spices and different dried chiles. More types of chiles than you can imagine. They also carry Virgils Natural Sodas - hip hip hooray! Every time I'm looking for some weird item, I'll go to four stores and then Food Lion. And of course Food Lion has it. Maybe I should start there first? They also have a solid produce selection with some local stuff available.

Food Lion tends to carry things you can't find in other supermarkets at a good price unless it's on sale at special times, regular household staples like tuna, cereal, oatmeal, boxed macaroni you can count on any time of the week also, the fruit section will not make you clutch your chest at ten dollars for a bag of apples. Although the sub ingredients at all Ingles are the same there is a great difference in the various sub makers abilities and attitudes! The guy that made mine did a super job despite the early hour ( about 10:10 am) and being very short on personnel! This guy is a commendable store associate. While the store itself is rather clean, I think the problem lies with management and the lack of competency to hire people who know what they are doing and the lack of work ethic to show those people how to do the job and instead opting for sitting them down in front of a computer screen and having them watch "modules" that do a poor job at telling them how to do the job, (I know this because I used to work there for three months). I saw an employee try to show a customer who lacked the brain cells to pay for his stuff, how to work the card machine and the store manager Ben was yelling at her when she was just trying to do her job and it was holding up the line. Keep in mind the store manager didn't even take the time to help his people out even after passing by like four times while this is happening. I've also heard and experienced for myself that the management there doesn't care for people with mental disabilities who want to work there and even go as far as to try to set those mentally disabled people up to get fired by putting them in scenarios that trigger them. Sometimes they even straight up fire those disabled people for no reason and make up excuses so they don't have to give them special treatment, (I have autism and DID and they did this to me and even called me retarded straight to my face saying "We don't need retards causing trouble at our store." which I was extremely confused by and upset by at the same time). Don't shop here, the people here are either stuck up or lack the brain cells to help you or even a mixture of both. (When I say lack the brain cells I mean they are Neurotypical and stupid)
