I can see why there are a lot of low rated reviews if you're older. Lots of kids working there (inexperienced and not trained well) and dining there (loud, unaware of their impact on other diners). But it's a new site which comes with clean, bright, refreshing decor. Wendy's is a step above MacDonald's and Burger King in terms of food quality and options. The chili, baked potato and salad options are very good . . . I stay away from burger, sandwich, fries and other such options, so I can't say much about those items there. It's a pretty good choice when in a hurry where you can get a relatively healthy quick meal. read more

Food: 2 stars - Ordered a spicy chicken sandwich with a BOGO Free deal for a classic chicken sandwich. Buns tasted kind of stale. Chicken patties were pretty thin. It's really nothing special. I wanted to order fries and a drink but apparently the BOGO deal doesn't work for combos. So had to remove the fries and drink. Service: 1 star - Spicy chicken sandwich combo is $9.99 with the BOGO deal it came out to be just under $15. So I asked how that math worked. The manager had to assist the guy at the window (who seemed new), and explained she had to separate the fries and drink so the deal would work - which brings the total up from $10 to $15. So I ended up removing the fries and drink and just got the two sandwiches. Not a big deal but tell me why the receipt shows they charged $1.00 for the classic chicken sandwich when the deal was BOGO Free. I'll post the Wendy's app where it shows the deal is BOGO Free, and not BOGO $1.00. And a picture of my receipt with the $1.00 charge for the sandwich. When a chain restaurant of this caliber can't even get a 2-item order correct, they don't deserve anything more than 1 star. Ambiance: N/A - Ordered at drive through. Overall: 1 star - A chain restaurant that has offers on the app but doesn't register correctly in-stores is a scam. Nobody wants to be scammed. This isn't about the $1.00 overcharge, this is about principle. Nothing personal towards the people who work there. But nobody likes to be scammed; if it's for $1,000 or for $1. A chain restaurant that serves hundreds if not thousands of orders per day, if they scam each customer $1, that adds up. Not cool Wendy's. I would like to say since this location opened, we have dined in and used the drive thru. Tonight, we went through the drive thru. I was told to pay at the first window. A young man ran in the room, ran my card and thanked me. At the second window, I was given my food. The peepsqueak at the window told me I didn't pay. I informed him I did. At his request I showed him on the phone the transaction went through. It showed Wendy's, date and time I was there. The young man was all, but rude and all, but called me a liar. He finally said you're clear, it showed paid. No apology or thank you. I will now drive by this Wendy's to another. It's worth the extra miles not give this one a dime. Drive thru around 1230 today, the lady taking my order was very patient with my inability to decide what I wanted to order, landed on the baconater with extra crispy fries, and a iced tea, which I then changed to Fanta orange. Well went here, obviously upon research, it was just before closing. Realizing now, they do not throw away 'previously' cooked food. Instead, they put it in the refrigerator for the next day. How do I know? Because the two hamburgers and fries and chicken nuggets we got were cold. Not sitting out cold, but straight from the fridge cold! We didn't understand why they didn't have frosties available. Well before actually closing, they start cleaning and putting stuff away. Never really have any problems with Wendy's. Food is always fresh and hot. People are always nice. BUT I don't know why they are so down on giving out the Chili oil packet. I usually get a taco salad (has chili) and either another large chili or a baked potato and chili. And we will get ZERO to 2 packs if we don't ask. I could use 10-12 one the above 3 item combo. Why can't you have 3-4 per item? Are they that expensive? Maybe at least ask if we want chili sauce. I doubt those little delicious chili flavor pack with make or break Wendy's. The last time we were here we used mobile points for a frosty. Drove to pick up and were told that they ran out of Frosty's and were unable to give us a refund. That cute little redhead with pig tails has remodeled the ol' homestead and it looks terrific. I would think even Daddy Dave Thomas would agree, Wendy's has grown up and this Nuevo location in the Home Depot parking lot just off of Lake Pleasant Parkway is a great little joint. I'm always interested in what fast food places are doing to drive sales to the next level. Taco Bell is the reigning champ in this area but Wendy's new 4 for $4 is a fantastic value. Choose your "main course" (double stack, jr. bacon cheese, etc. and then they add a four piece chicken nugget, drink, and small fries. Perfect size lunch! Although for my tastes, I'm not a big fan of Wendy's fries, would prefer Mickey D's or Freddy's Steakburger (shoestring fries that are the bomb). But I digress. Food here is close to the same as every other location and in my book, it's more than passable for a quick Saturday afternoon lunch with the Princess. This is a brand-spanking new location and they really outdid themselves. Self-ordering kiosks, upper end soda machine with 30 flavors, quick service. The seating is somewhat limited like they are expecting lots of drive through traffic and not as many inside orders. I enjoyed the long, community table (kind of like some Chipotles). This place is literally ran by teenagers. lazy rude manager. My fries are always cold, bland, and dried out. Came in one night and a kid was running around in the back with a to go bag over his head. Another employee was standing on the customer side of the counter eating a burger, in uniform. I saw TWO young ladies working. One cooking and one at the window. The rest of them I could hear laughing and carrying on somewhere out of sight, while these ladies were working hard. Finally a heavier girl, who I believe was a manager bc she had on a different color shirt, walked up to the counter like she hated her life... "what would you like?" No smile, no greeting.. crazy how there is such a lack of genuine customer service. Another time I came through the drive through and had a pretty big order.. over $70 (which is crazy as is) and a much older guy handed me my bag and I simply asked if that was it and he totally snapped at me "WHAT?!?! YEAH!!!" I'd be pissed of I owned this franchise. Whoever does, you need a to secretly spend some time watching the way this place works! read more

Went recently and did a mobile order. I ordered the spicy wrap which was still available in the mobile order app but apparently discontinued at this store. Asked them to remove it from order, they wouldnt ("we cant change mobile orders..." mmmk but u charged me?) but did offer me an alternative item. That was nice. I wish Wendys would get their act together and stop this variation by store BS. Its inconsistent and unfortunate. Fries you could tell are not fresh. I have complained about this store in the past and their GM blamed the kids working there which I actually think is unfair. The buck stops with the GM. The "kids" will only do what they are told &\or are allowed to get away with, ie schedule a SUPERVISOR and PAY THEM to ensure things are done properly. The staff were not wearing masks during the pandemic like they are at Chick-Fil-A which has a much more robust operation. Think I know where I'm going to spend my $11 next time.
