I was SO happy to be back. I have seriously missed their tacos! I stopped by Friday for the lobster tacos, and they did not disappoint. Big, juicy, flavorful pieces of lump lobster claw meat that you can actually sink your teeth into - so, so good! I couldn't decide on a side, so naturally I had both: the pineapple coleslaw (pretty much the only coleslaw I'll eat!) and the chips. And my Lime in the Coconut margarita was delicious. But Nokomo's is about more than the food. I missed the whole vibe - happy, fun, relaxing, and absolutely breathtaking. That waterfront sunset key view is one of a kind and pretty tough to beat. The staff was friendly and attentive as usual, and I also noticed they paved the parking lot! Such a nice improvement and much easier to walk across. While I was taking updated menu pictures, I noticed my old menu photos on Yelp - For the most part, the menu has stayed pretty consistent. What really surprised me was that most prices have only gone up about $3 over the past two years. The lobster tacos are the exception - they've gone up about $8. I've heard they basically break even on them, and all I can say is THANK YOU for keeping them on the menu because they are my favorite! While sitting at the bar, I also saw some oysters go by that looked amazing. They were from Louisiana. And then there was a cheesesteak that was stuffed so generously it looked big enough for two people! I can't wait to try some of those next time. If you haven't been to Nokomo's Sunset Hut, you don't know what you're missing. Come treat yourself to delicious food, a cold drink, live music and those beautiful, laid-back Southwest Florida vibes. I am a little disappointed at the sides serving "cup" (black beans, yellow rice, and edamame) while the online menus does not post prices they are a little bit more expensive now this year and looking at my pictures from the past a little more diminutive? I do see I substituted and they made up a BEAN taco for me one time so maybe I will switch back to that creation.
