I love Wendy's don't get me wrong but this place has always forgotten multiple items in my order. Once I had to order 5 salads with classic chicken and none of the salads had chicken. And a large fry. I've ordered breakfast and they forgot 2 orders of the season potatoes. Recently I ordered 2 cheese burgers with no Mayo or bacon and they came with both. Also, ordered 2 spicy chicken with no mayo or pickles and added avocado. They added the mayo and pickles but no avocado but I was still charged for it. Horrible. read more

I've been waiting for Wendy's to open since the moment I heard that they were given the okay to build. Whether it was on the way to work, or on the way home, I would always catch myself glancing over to see when they'd be open. And sure enough, with improvements made each day such as infrastructure there, paint here, and signs there, Wendy's was officially open for business. The first two times I went, I was fortunate to not have to experience a colossal line, though I do have to note that on my second visit, the Manager went out of his way to try and coerce drivers to either dine-in or order take-out in-store to help ease the congested line. By the time he got to my car, I remember commenting that I was too socially awkward to leave the confines of my car to which he laughed and played along with me saying that I don't seem that way at all, but that if I was fine with following the crazy Disney-like line, I was more than welcome to do so. I appreciated the fact that even in the hot, summer afternoon, he was doing his best to make sure everyone was accommodated in any way that he can. All of the workers, whether they were taking orders, taking payment, or handing out orders, were all very friendly and courteous, and despite the lines, whipped out orders as fast as possible. It's because of these two experiences that I was surprised that my third visit was so different. My mother-in-law and I decided to stop by Wendy's this morning to pick-up a breakfast sandwich as she enjoyed the chocolate frosty I had gotten her on one of my previous visits. However, when we went to pay, my mother-in-law paid with a $20 bill and when we were given back change, my mother-in-law realized it was short. So she mentioned it to the Cashier who decided to argue that we had given a $10 bill instead and that due to that, the Cashier would only give us change for a $10. How one can get the faces of Alexander Hamilton and Andrew Jackson is beyond me (maybe it's the white wigs...the jaw line...maybe the forehead, who knows?), but it was early, she was hungry, and we just wanted to get back home, so we drove up to the next window, received our food and left. My mother-in-law ended up calling Wendy's and asking to speak to the Manager to talk about what had happened and had even asked them to count the drawer to see if it was off. And what do you know? It was! So the Manager told us that we could stop by to pick-up the additional change that wasn't provided to us at the time of our visit. Overall, I understand that Wendy's has just opened so they're going to go through some growing pains as they get adjusted to a routine. But after this incident, it makes me curious as to how many other customers were shortchanged, and possibly without even realizing it. Will I stop going to Wendy's? Probably not. But I definitely won't be paying in cash any time soon. read more

We finally tried on Father's Day after 8 p.m. (after a huge lunch). The drive thru was long, so my daughter and I went in to order. I waited a while as there was only one register open. There were many people inside - standing as well as sitting waiting for their order. I finally ordered my food and right after I walked away, realized I forgot my husband's chili. I turned around to see three people already in line. I waited and waited as the man at the counter has an issue. Instead of the woman manager taking the man on the side, she stood right in front of the register and nothing else could be done. No ... she did not need the register, just too stupid to move on the side. After a long while, the man in front of me ordered, and then me. Waited and waited and waited. 35 minutes later, two girls who were already waiting when I walked in, FINALLY got their Frosties!! I asked one girl, as she passed me, if that's all they ordered and she said yes. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! They were waiting AT LEAST 35 MINUTES FOR FROSTIES - who knows how long they were waiting before I got there!!! After 15 more minutes I finally got my first order. I informed the manager (who was attempting to assist but was an epic fail) that i had one more order - a chili. She found it and ATTEMPTED to start packing it then got totally distracted (with someone at the register that she had no idea what was going on) and dropped the package. I waited, again, until she finally realized I was still standing there. I asked her for some hot sauce and she ignored me. I asked again, and still nothing. The man standing next to me said, "Can she get sone hot sauce?" I thanked him for trying, but still nothing. After waiting a while, I finally said, "Can I get some hot sauce so I can go home and eat my dinner?" No yelling, just said it. The manager then said, "You don't have to be so rude." Are you kidding me?!!!! She finally pulls the ONLY CASHIER to go in the back to get the hit sauce. Does she bring a box since, obviously, there was no fricken hot sauce at the counter? Of course not - she brings a handful. OMG! I told her I only need a couple and was reaching for them when the manager grabs out of her hands, shoves then in my package, and sarcastically says, "There - have a good night!!" 45 fricken minutes for two kids meals, a single burger, a chili, and a Frosty! RIDICULOUS! The lip and attitude from this incompetent manager sealed the deal - never been back. Go to Wendy's (pearl city) quite frequently and was happy to see one opening in Kailua. First couple visits we had good experience tonight's experience all our food besides our potato was cold as if it just came out of the fridge, fries was stale, ordered a large, paid the extra only to get a small. Spoke to the manager who supposedly said she was on the grill and said it's unfortunate - it actually is because the cheese isn't melted, the bun and burgers itself is COLD. I told her I'd just take the lost no sense in arguing with someone over $21 worth of food. Aloha Wendy's, Tonight's visit to your Kailua location was not planned as we have been there before. At least 4xs in 2 months at around 830pm. Now keep in mind the first thing that comes to my mind is Chili and Rice. Every time we go for the Chili and Rice we are told we are OUT OF RICE and even one time they said the rice didn't smell good. Easy to solve make another pot of rice. Can you imagine your customer service lacks the add on items that can be sold had you prepared for more chili and rice. This location closes at 1am so until the next day no rice with your chili. Seeing as how they just opened I had high hopes for the quality. I was unfortunately disappointed. The chicken nuggets a were dry and stale, like they'd been cooked yesterday and sitting out, the fries were soggy. As much as I love Wendy's I'm not sure I'll be going to this one again. I (normally) love Wendy's. I worked there in High School and appreciated the fresh meat and focus on cleanliness and quality. I stopped by the Kailua Wendy's the other day while in the area and was so disappointed by this brand new store. While waiting for my food I tried to fill my soda cup yet it was clear that the machine had not been cleaned recently and several choices were not available. Ketchup dispenser was also dirty and no paper cups for the ketchup so I used a soda lid. My food arrived and the fries were limp and luke warm. Burger was good. Bottom line: Sadly, I typically seek out the rare Wendy's location in Hawaii yet I will not be visiting this location again. read more

Having the feeling of a new Wendy's on the east side once again has made me feel at home after the Wendy's on Kaneohe side was shut down years ago. We were excited to go to this new Wendy's, but turns out it was a huge letdown. We ordered a baconator combo with a honey chicken biscuit with a side of fries, and EVERYTHING seemed so uncoordinated. It took thirty minutes for them to complete a drive thru order, and since it took so long we thought it was quality. Well, I was absolutely wrong. We had received our drink and they cast us on the side to wait and I was confused. Was a Baconator too hard to make? Or was the biscuit too hard to make? No that was the least of my concerns. Two cars behind us got their orders while we were left hanging. When we finally got our meal, I popped a fry and it was extra salty with a taste of yesterday, Baconator tasted good but ceased to look like a baconator. In conclusion, The workers are doing their job but the management is poor. You can't leave a customer hanging like that, so I hope you can learn from this review and make a difference. Thank you. Avoid the overpriced cardboard burgers served here. Ordered a Baconator and received half the sandwich in the pictures. Not worth the $7.49 for just the burger. This store will also attempt to overcharge you when you bring in their coupon just to make an extra buck. They are trying their best to alienate customers and go out of business.
