I just ate their queso fries for the first time and they were SO GOOD. POBLANO CHEESE I LOVE YOU!!!!!! Also I don't know her name but the very short black lady is an angel. She's always so nice even when there are a lot of people in the restaurant and it's stressful. I guess if I had to talk about the ambiance I really enjoy the sunny corner with the tall chairs. I have a simple question about this location of Wendy's: why does it not have mustard? It's my fave burger condiment, it's included on the company's website for a bunch of their sandwiches, and yet -- every single time I ask for "no ketchup or mayo" -- I get a bare burger. Other than that, this branch is notable for its extraordinarily long wait in the drive-thru. If you arrive and see more than four cars ahead of you, just give up and go next-door to Burger King. This location is so disrespectful, unorganized and very not into their work. I asked for my receipt and felt like it was a heavy chore to do stating "We dont do receipt". Then the person taking orders is rude, impatient and sounded off with employees at the drive thru explaining how much he hates his job. In 2021 almost 2022, you think these dirty rugrats of a generation Z kids would be thankful of just working. But no. Truly ungrateful. And the manager heard this along with others in the establishment also in the drive thru, and decided to hide in the back and not calm down atmosphere. Will not be visiting this location ever again. If I could give this place no stars I would. Literally do not waste your time coming to this Wendy's. Not only have they messed up EVERY SINGLE doordash order that I have placed by forgetting items and ingredient trying to order in the store is a miserable experience. I waited in line for 20 minutes to order and not a single person in front of me got their order taken. Eventually I asked what the wait time was going to be as they had not taken a single order since I arrived. The woman walked away from me with no response so I asked again. She turned to the man working with her and said "do you want to tell them the wait time" which I assumed meant they would not be taking orders anytime soon. This is by far the slowest fast food place I have ever been to and the people working can't even tell the customers what the wait time is. Blame it on the lack of remotely decent fast-food places in Hamden (Burger King is inedible now) or just us being hungry, but I decided to give Wendy's another try a few months ago. I love the Biggie Bags & to my surprise...the food was good. Even the fries were hot & not too salty. So, myself & my friends started going there again. We use the drive-thru now, as the door to get into this place LITERALLY needs superhuman strength to open!! But fast-forward to the present: The food's quality began to go downhill again. The topper, though: One afternoon the woman speaking through the drive-thru said something like ".....have to come inside." I was confused, but I did. The aformentioned tough-to-open door was bad enough...I have a bad arm & it was brutal. But I did it. Once I walked in, I saw several WET FLOOR signs. There was squashed burger pieces & tomato pieces strewn on the floor. Several employees were standing around behind the counter, talking to each other. Yet no one was even trying to clean up the food-covered floor. Some workers had hoodies or sweatshirts on, and didn't even look like employees. The man that took my order was nice, he seemed nervous but he helped me. I HATED that self-serve soda machine! I so wish that fast-food places had never installed those machines. They never work correctly & the soda goes all over the place & the screen never 'stays' long enough for you to fill your cup correctly. Is it so tough to fill soda for in-restaurant customers?? Does it take THAT long?!! The fact that this place is so messy & the food not so good now....I guess I'll wait a few more months once again....to see if it improves. read more

If you drive for a food delivery service, when they switch to drive through only at night, don't even bother with this place. Idk if to the night manager is the dude with the black do-rag who works the window but he's a arrogant jerk that if you have multiple orders will not do them together he insists you have to go around again. They never ever ever have anything ready even if the order was s soda and fries they don't have anything ready and you will sit there and wait for a minimum of 20 minutes so if your driving Uber they are going to tell you to bounce. Door dash is different you could be in the middle of a alien invasion and they don't want you to cancel. So heed my adviice don't bother picking up the Wendy's on Dixwell Ave in Hamden orders at night. It's not worth it and besides 90% of them are no tip $2 - $2.75 ones anyways. This Place SUCKS! I would easily give this spot 0 stars if i was able to. The current staff, horrible. Last time i came here the service was just as horrible. Nobody in line and sat here for 20 minutes. Last time, i waited 45 minutes for 10 nuggets and a drink. This time, i had to tell them my order at the window where you pay because they didn't enter it when i told them at the speaker. Told them 3x and they still got it wrong. Idk where these workers are coming from but this location deserves to get shut down or fire all your staff, they don't want to work and sure as hell don't act like they want a job. Normally I don't write reviews but I've had enough with this location in Hamden Connecticut. Came through came 3 times and that wasn't enough to realize I will not be returning as a customer. 1st time going I waited and drive-through over 10 minutes for them to tell me all machines are broken and they cannot take any orders. Why not have a staff member come out and let the cars know so we aren't waiting in line for no reason. Another time I went they are always out of food or condiments it's. I've asked for salads, Baked potato and other things and they're always out of stock. Staff is also unprofessional.. When you walk in you hear cursing in the back kitchen area also is not cleaned. Staff is wearing is wearing hoodies and hats hats so faces are unrecognizable are unrecognizable some staff members don't even have uniforms on. Instead of using their words like how can I help you they wave you over to the counter with their hand and don't even speak don't even speak. I felt like I walked into a backyard picnic instead of restaurant. Don't recommend going to this location. read more

Probably amongst the worst Wendy's experiences to-date. The crew member taking orders did not speak at all clearly and then seemed offended when we needed her to repeat things. The team stared at our order sheet once it was printed for about 8 minutes, putting stuff on the tray, then taking it off before finally thinking it was right. We were shocked to get to our table and find that it had been right and tasted fine. In the restroom, the automatic soap dispenser was disabled which wasn't ideal in a less than clean restroom. Overall, just a challenging experience at the counter in not the cleanest environment. read more

First of all the ambiance in this restaurant is super elegant and done up. LOVE the fire place. Food was all enjoyable and we received our food almost immediately. Hats off to the chef!
