We were across the street at Prime Thrift and needed a pick-me-up before heading to 2nd Avenue Thrift in Essex, so we shot across Pulaski for a (kinda) cheap snack. I try to roll like I'm made of money, but more and more these days I'm coming in hot when it comes to my finances at the end of the month. Lucky for me, Wendy's has a $3 Son of Baconator Deal going on right now, and that burger hits the spot. It's only a double patty cheeseburger with bacon, mayo and ketchup, but those square patties contain magic, I tell you. Jeremy had a burger, too, and some of those "Saucy Nugs." He used to love the garlic parmesan ones, but apparently they stopped offering that sauce, so he got barbecue sauce. I'm usually not a nuggets fan, but I do like these. Not enough to eat more than maybe two, but the quality of the nuggets seems much better than what is offered at McDonald's (who we no longer patronize due to their rolling back their DEI practices. Did you know our veterans are considered DEI? Shame on you, McDonald's). The dining room was clean, and relatively empty (we were there around 3, so it was between lunch and dinner rush), and the employees seemed to know what they were doing - efficient service and the order was correct. They blamed it on the people in the couple cars ahead of me but, if that's the case then you should send them off to the side so the line can keep moving. I was traveling with my cats for the holidays up 95N to visit family. After four hours of driving, I finally pulled off the highway for a late lunch. It was around 2 pm when I arrived to this Wendy's location. Since I had animals with me, I had to use the drive-thru (I would never just leave them unsupervised in my car). There were three cars in front of me. For nearly 15 minutes. Eventually a big white van in line left without their food. Meanwhile my cats were agitated by the fact that we had stopped but they weren't getting let out. And I was agitated by the fact that the "fast food" was anything but fast. When I pulled up to the window, I was essentially barked at to place my order. I guess living in Virginia has spoiled me, because I found that pretty rude. I placed my order for a combo and was told it was $9.95. When did fast food get so darn expensive? As I pulled up to the window, I passed the lady my payment and started to ask why the combo was so pricey. Mid-sentence, she shut the window. She literally shut the window as I was speaking to her. Mind. Boggled. When she reopened it, she handed me a packet of coupons that expired one week later stating that it'd help me the next time I ordered. Um. What? I don't typically order Wendy's and just was asking for a breakdown. Shoving coupons in my face and being abrupt like that? Totally unnecessary. I made a door dash order. After waiting an hour and a half, I called the store. My Dasher has been waiting for 30 minutes in their lobby, which I can see on my app. Anyway, called the store to ask if there was an issue, the lady who answered was VERY rude. And she thought she hung up the phone, but I assure you, I heard her talking trash about me, saying "effing beachy door dash" except she said the words I'm not going to put in this review. This just happened about 5 minutes ago on Friday August 30, 2024. I don't know the lady's name who answered because all she said was "Wendy's". First off - we saw this Wendy's advertised off of the highway. It was about 3 miles away. The service was also just really bad. We did drive through with a 3 year old really focused on her chicken nuggets. After repeating our order probably 3 times, and having our order repeated back to us, we paid and got our food. The chicken nuggets were missing. I went inside to get them (good thing that we checked) and they asked which sauce I wanted. They forgot the sauce. When I went back to my car (and foolishly did not triple check our order) we found that we were also missing fries and a straw for our drinks. 1st time here and definitely not the last. I came here due to the request of a client that I had to complete a mental health intake with and everything was great. The dining room was clean, the customer service was fantastic and the food was hot and fresh. I visited the the ladies room prior to leaving and to my surprise unlike most other fast food restaurants, this place was top notch. Nothing was on the floor the sink was dry and not wet before I got there and toiletries fully loaded the way they're supposed to be. If you get a chance, stop by and see what you think. 2 years later I try to give this location a shot again and still disappointed. This time their start hrs are 07:00. I placed an online order about 07:15 I arrive 07:20 there were 3 vehicles in the lot. I get to the drive thru and no one was coming over to ask for my order. I waited a few minutes then called them. I said yes I am in drive thru and no one is answering I have a mobile order for pick up. I was told oh, someone showed up late this morning so nothing is ready yet I will have to come back later no time given. By then it was 7:28. Like many have stated about this location no sense of urgency. This does not live up to the standards Dave would have wanted. I so miss the Wendy's locations in Ohio they were top notch. So, it's Wendy's. It's not like I come here expecting gourmet food. But this Wendy's, in my opinion, is better in some ways (but worse in other ways) than the Abingdon location. My family and I just left the Edgewood Wendy's. Our order was totally messed up. Not only was most of the food ordered was wrong, the food most definitely was sitting for a long time. My fish sandwich was hard and old. The chicken sandwich only had a lump of mayo in the middle. We made the mistake of not checking our order once paid. We immediately returned to the pay window and the staff did not apologize or give eye contact. It was as though they were acknowledging the fact they screwed us intentionally and were caught. Ok - I had to write a review of a Wendy's because I helped to make history here. Well, not really. But I did make my day. I came into here with the intent of ordering the new fish sandwich and yucking it up with my fellow captains for a bit. Instead, as my friend opened the door, we were treated to a bit of an asshole who decided that it would be wise to blast past us rudely and dash into the store. After sending a few epithets his way as he dashed into the bathroom, we walked in and got into line. Well, el douchebago came back out of the bathroom and decided to sort of loiter without getting into line. Something felt wrong so the three of us turned to face him. As we did so, we heard some sirens and noticed that police cruisers were surrounding the store. Just as we thought something might pop off, a cop pokes his head in, spots the guy, and says, "sir, come outside please." After refusing and having the cop repeat himself, he finally gave in and went outside. We ordered our food without incident (damn if I didn't feel bare without a weapon in there), we sat down next to the window hoping we'd watch the cops slam him up against the window and push his face into the glass. Instead, one of the other cops came in and started looking in the trash cans. I quipped up, "hey, the assbag went into the bathroom when he dashed in here." and the cop went that way. After about two minutes, he came back out holding a bag of weed about the size of a softball. SCORE!!! Man, it's too bad we didn't think to go in there - we could have had some fun, eh? Now, what does this have to do with Wendy's? Nothing other than adding to my fond memories of why I like the chain - oh, and the fish sandwich wasn't bad either. *grin* read more

Pretty standard fare. The staff was friendly and efficient enough, the kitchen looked clean, and my food came out fast enough. Also, they kept the dining area and restroom tidy enough. If your on 95 and looking for a quick place to stop, this Wendy's is a pretty solid option, imo. read more

We stopped at this Wendy's for a "quick" lunch while travelling from VA to NY. ONE HOUR LATER, FREEZING FROM THE AC THAT WAS RIDICULOUSLY HIGH we left. (20 minutes on line to order, 20 minutes to wait for our lunches to be delivered). We should have turned around immediately upon seeing the waiting line to order which was about 15 people deep with one cashier. I asked a worker who was cleaning up the tables is it always so cold here. She told me yes without turning around to address me. I could get past quite the crazy long wait, if for once when ordering a frosty in the drive- thru, I could get a frosty that is not overflowing and dripping down the sides. It was probably the worst service I have ever had in any fast food restaurant in my life. They were out of frosties, lemonade, and about 70 percent of their fountain drinks. It took about 30 minutes inside just to get a meal and have our friends orders even be taken. It was like 60 degrees in there and dirty.
