Compared to other fast-food places, this one gets 4 stars from me. What can I say--sometimes a girl just wants a cheap, fast burger, you know? Wendy's is my favorite as far as fast-food burgers go, and this location has a really nice guy who works at the drive-thru a lot (blue eyes, glasses)--he acts genuinely happy to be interacting with customers, which makes the whole fast-food, drive-thru experience pretty great, actually. I've been to some extremely nice and expensive places and not come away feeling as pleased with the service as I do when I go to this Wendy's drive-thru. Here is a general rule for Wendy's: Go through drive through because its faster than walking in. At least thats the rule for the Pacific Northwest States of Washington and Oregon and I know from experience. I love Wendys but they have a cater to the drive-through and no matter how busy it is, there will only be one cashier at the front policy. This Wendy's is faster than most, and multi-lingual. Walked in, not from the area and Davin was behind the counter. It wasn't busy and no one was behind me so it took my a little bit to figure out what I wanted. He was not rushing me and said to let him know when I was ready. I figured out what I wanted and he took my order. When he asked what size I wanted I kinda paused, he volunteered to show me the difference in the sizes but I said don't worry about it and picked. Got my food and it was great. I noticed that after I ordered he came out and was cleaning the tables. Parking is tight here but my experience was good. read more

PREFACE: This rating is from ONE notable experience. I GIVE A 5-STAR RATING FOR EVERY OTHER EXPERIENCE besides the following. Normally, this Wendy's is pretty great, but a few weeks ago in the drive thru, an employee's greeting through the monitor was literally "yeah. What do you want?!" in a really unfriendly, unprofessional tone. Then when we got to the window, the guy (pretty sure he's a night manager. Definitely not the one manager who's always really sincerely friendly and nice) was actually YELLING at his coworkers. Like, biting their poor heads off because they got part pf our order wrong (common mistake that absolutely did not deserve such abuse. Not that anything does, in my opinion), and these coworkers were either visibly afraid and about to cry, or they were rolling their eyes in anger and frustration. He clearly had been verbally abusing them all day - and I don't use the term "verbal abuse" lightly, because the last thing we heard him yell was "GOD DAMN, YALL MAKE ME CRAZY!!!" And mind you, all of this was directly in front of the drive-thru window and with what looked like a pretty cutomer-filled lobby. Working in customer service for 16 years myself, I understand how frustration can get the best of an employee, and as awful as this scene was, my intention is to not possibly get this guy fired because I do believe in second chances, but hopefully maybe just help him be aware that that behavior is never, ever acceptable. I also, am bringing this up weeks after the fact because I wasn't able to at the original time it happened and I just saw him again tonight for the first time since it happened (not friendly or sorry when we made him aware that he gave us a wrong item in our order, but tcompared to the basis of the actual review, I'm not too concerned about it. Especially since it happens in every business everywhere all the time, as well). Hope he's given the opportunity to actively right that major wrong. read more

Wendy's has a new chicken strip meal. Do not be fooled. The supposed strips are hardly any bigger than their chicken nuggets. I just saw a commercial and the person in the commercial is holding a chicken strip that looks 4 inches atleast. The strips I got the other night at Wendy's were barely 2 inches. If I were to Rate Mathew, the amazing DT guy...it would be 200% He is above and beyond what anyone would want as a service provider. Sadly after the initial contact at the DT the rest of the establishmnet lacks a customer focus. Their chatter amongst each other is un welcoming and makes customers feel belittled . And the follow through at the window after Mathew rings the order in is not completed as rung in and when asked for it you are given attitude. In addition there are comments/chatter between the workers that imply that the customer is a bother...body language is universal...especially to those of us in the service industry. The community LOVES Mathew...sadly he can not carry the store on his own. read more

This one is absolutely awful at giving you the correct order. I've had to come back almost every time to get my order fixed. The most recent, I asked for extra ranch on my Asiago Chicken Club and received no ranch. Then when I ask about sauces the girl at the window was so bitchy, I almost asked for a manager. read more

I can't really recommend that you eat here because, really, you shouldn't be eating this unhealthy food. However, if you are going to eat fast food anyway, this particular restaurant really does it right. Mathew has been working there a long time, and he is very friendly and efficient. The order is always right, which you can't say about most fast food places. One thing I hate about ordering at some Wendy's restaurants is that, when you order a Frosty, half the time they don't give you a spoon., and you don't discover it until you are miles away. What the heck are you supposed to do with a Frosty if you don't have a spoon? At this restaurant, they always give you the spoon. The food is better quality and cheaper than the McDonalds right next door. I hate to admit that I know that, but I really wanted to give Mathew and the crew a good review because they deserve to be recognized. read more

I accidentally went to the drive-thru at Wendy's when I thought I was at McDonald's (which is right beside it) on Saturday around lunchtime.I just wanted a drink and asked if they still had the $1 drink special (oblivious that I was at Wendy's and not McD's) he said he had one for $.99 cents. When I pull up to the window I received THE MOST welcoming greeting EVER, and to add that it was a fast food window drive-thru? who would have guessed? Like others before me, I need to recognize the drive through guy at the Burien Wendy's. I know I shouldn't eat this food but I do and when I do this walk of shame, I always look forward to Matthew. A lot of people would approach working in the drive through at Wendy's like the way I approach weeding. But not this guy. He's always positive. I love his smile and the way he says, "what are we drinking today?" like my small coke order was a pina colada enjoyed on a caribbean resort. Whatever you pay this guy, it's not enough. I tried Wendys chicken apple salad for the first time today. I took 2 home. I was not able to eat it! The chicken was spicy and peppery, I can not eat spices so I tried washing it off but that didn't work. So I tossed the chicken and put the pecans on the lettuce. Surprise!! The pecans are coated with hot spice. I expect restaurants to describe what is in their food and Wendys did not list spicy items in the chicken apple salad. I would like to take the salads back to them but I have to drive 10 miles to do that and I've wasted enough time already. Dominos is using "spring mix" now instead of romaine, which ruined their salad, so I'm "saladless" now. read more

Great service! I've come to this Wendy's many times and I've seen Matthew working the drive through quite a few times. Each time he had been very friendly and superb in what he does. Only one person in front of me waiting for their food & I stood in line for over 5 minutes watching this slow turd do anything but take orders!! This location gets one star for how fast the food was ready and the frosty which is fool proof. We paid then drove to the second window where she already was handing it over. Its all down hill from here. The Crispy chicken sand which was a JOKE! It had a small drop of mayo with two very small blades of lettuce and the whole thing was so small I practically missed it in the bag. My daughters kids meal fries were WAY to salty. As much as I wanted to toss it all, we already wasted our money on this garbage and were hungry and tired so we ate it. Now I feel like I'm going to be sick. Once upon a time Wendy's in Burien was fairly decent. Now it just needs to be burned down or get people working there who don't want to cost the business money by making garbage and calling it food.
