Everyone was super welcoming and helped me feel comfortable immediately. My family & MOH also had a great time and felt taken care of. Magdalena (my stylist) was incredibly helpful and made the entire experience so positive. She pulled dresses based on the style I expressed that I wanted and she absolutely nailed it! She also showed genuine care for me, and did a great job listening to my responses to dresses and curating my experience from there. From start to finish, it was a whimsical experience. My daughter and I had heard good things about Wendy's Bridal in Columbus. We traveled 3 hours to shop there for her perfect wedding gown, and made 2 separate visits before making her decision. Both times were helped by sales consultant, Lila, and she was wonderful to work. I have no complaints about her and how much she helped us. Once the dress had been chosen, we were told it would be about 5-6 months the before it came in (which was perfectly fine) but the dress ended up arriving in only 2 weeks!! Great! They wouldn't hold the dress and had us come and pick it up (another 3 hour trip) to bring it home until her first alterations appt SIX months later. Once we began the process of alterations (3 months prior to the wedding date) that's when the issues began. We were placed with Inma, which I would not recommend. She is Russian (which is perfectly fine), but that caused a language barrier as we often did not understand things she was telling us. To make a long story short, and after 4 more visits back and forth and things not being done that were supposed to be each time, we finally had no choice but to bring the gown home (as it was now 2 weeks before the wedding). There were puckers in the back where the dress wasn't taken up well. These were supposed to be fixed and were not. Then, on the day of the wedding, we noticed that one sleeve was not even sewn on correctly. It looks as if it were sewn on inside out, and instead of fixing the mistake, she just pulled the sleeve right side out, which made it twisted at the top and didn't match the other sleeve. Not only did we pay $2000 for the dress, but ended up having almost $1500 in alterations that weren't even done to perfection. Very disappointed in their alterations dept. Would we recommend Wendy's for shopping and sales? Yes. Would we recommend them for alterations? Absolutely NOT. If you purchase a gown from there, I would highly recommend finding your own seamstress to do the work. read more

The shop and our stylist, Katherine, were wonderful. Walking in the shop the personnel were friendly and ready for us. There were several seating areas for the family and friends...there were three of us, and that was plenty. Our bride-to-be had pictures of dress styles she liked, and that was helpful. She brought a three-inch heeled shoe to wear. Our bride and Katherine looked at dresses, discussed price range, and chose a few to try on. The dresses were beautiful and were not outrageously priced. Our bride tried on six dresses, and she loved the second one! It was a light ivory with a blush underlay. She chose a vail, learned about the alteration prices and paid. This review is out of the ordinary, but I wanted to recognize Wendy's understanding and excellent service during our recent trip there. My mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness last year and one wish she had was dress shopping with my sister, who is in college and not yet engaged. We contacted Wendy's bridal to make an appointment and let them know the situation, and they were very happy to help. A group of us arrived for the appointment and the staff were all very friendly and helpful with getting my mom around in the store. They were great about suggesting a less busy time so we could enjoy the day. I can't remember who our associate was, but she was wonderful- all knowing that we probably would not be buying a dress that day. Wendy's was highly recommended by quiet a few people. The people there are so nice and accommodating. HOWEVER, with that being said it was a total ripoff! With this being my first wedding experience I would of spent whatever it was to look and feel beautiful. First off they ordered me a size 12 when I wear a size 6 stating it needs to be a little bigger because of the bust area. After it was all said and done they had to alter my dress 2X and it still wasn't right. Don't get me wrong, the one doing the alterations was very nice but my dress did not fit right ON MY DAY!! My dress was still, at least, 4 inches too big from the breast area down to my thighs. My original dress cost was around $1850 plus vail $350. After alterations and steaming it was $4000.00. I believe Wendy's Bridal orders your dress big in order to make money off the alternations considering they tell you if you don't get the alterations done there it is NOT Guaranteed. BUYER BEWARE I cannot emphasize this enough after my recent experience - DO NOT go to Wendy's Bridal. I am writing this because, IF ONLY I had paid attention to other reviews and their 2.5 star Yelp rating, I would have saved MY time, money, and today's worse than unprofessional phone conversation. I recently purchased both my wedding dress and veil ($2k+) at Wendy's and returned with my Mother, Future MIL, and one of my bridesmaids to look at dresses. I had a 90 minute appointment at 10am and my mother and MIL were able to find good options, but did not feel comfortable ordering yet as they had not looked elsewhere. Before leaving, Lil, the manager of Wendy's, took their measurements and wrote down dress sizes, encouraging us to give them a call with any questions and/or to order when ready. A few weeks later (today), I called Wendy's to ask the size/measurements of my Mom's dress and what the final pricing would be, and if you can imagine, was berated over the phone for asking. I expressed that I wanted this information because my mom, who has surgical scars, requested it with the possibility of looking in PA where she lives. In response, I was told that I took advantage of a 90 minute appointment that other clients were turned away for (isn't that the purpose of an appointment?), that providing measurements without purchase was not industry standard (huh??), I would be the reason they didn't stay in business (huh???), and more. The entire conversation was asinine and unbelievable. I asked a simple question (that I was told was allowed before leaving our appointment), but received no answer and was gaslit in every form of the word. Lil could not have been more disrespectful, condescending, and rude (as her responses to negative reviews on Google, BBB, etc. display as well). I explained to her that the entire interaction was as such, especially considering she already HAD my business ($2k+ of it), but there was no concession. She mentioned my character echoed the same characteristics, which is an bold statement to make over a dress size. Lil not only insulted me because I asked for a dress size, but lost the sale of 7 additional dresses. I never expressed taking all of my business elsewhere, but the accusation of such and excessive insults have led me to do so. Fortunately, money spends anywhere and mine will not be spent at Wendy's - and for your sake, I hope yours isn't either. I ordered a dress elsewhere and 7 months later, the week of my wedding, it was still not in so I made an appointment online for Wendy's to see what they had in store in case I needed to buy something last minute. They quickly got back to me and let me know they were actually having a sample sale that week and to go ahead and come in now instead of waiting for an appointment because they can't hold sample dresses, which is a rule I am familiar with. I was very clear over the phone when I told whoever I spoke to that I was giving the other store another 2 days to get my dress in before I bought anything else, and I also gave them my measurements from the other store. The associate said they didn't think they had much in stock for my size because the other store ran bigger and that Wendy's carries smaller, European sizing, but that I should still come in. I had a pretty bad taste in my mouth after that phone call because what female wants to hear someone alluding to them being too big for their dresses? LOL I'm a size 2 in most everyday clothing (obvi gown sizes are very different) so I didn't know if maybe she misunderstood me or did her math wrong so I decided to go anyways because I was getting married in 7 days with no dress. When I got to the store, they measured me and turns out they did actually have a pretty good selection of dresses in my size and budget, but then someone who I assume to be the manager came over to me while I'm trying to focus on finding a dress for my wedding IN 7 DAYS and kept badgering me about making a purchase. After I had already explained my stressful situation over the phone, the manager wanted to know why I was shopping then instead of waiting for the other store because they won't hold a dress for me. I told them yes I know you don't hold sample dresses and I tried to make an appointment for later in the week but your associate told me to come in now, and I told both of them I was only planning to looking that day multiple times. Then they wanted to know if I did come back and buy a dress if the other one came in, which one I would return? I explained for a second time, I was getting a refund from the other store in 2 days if my original dress did not come in but they were already trying to secure their commission before even showing me a single dress. I felt so pressured and disgusted by their complete lack of compassion so I grabbed my things and left before trying on any dresses. Never once did anyone say "Here's a dress you might like" - they literally only asked about their money. I was the only customer in the store from what I remember, there may have been 1 other person. Unless there is a specific dress that you know this place sells that you want to purchase, steer clear. Kathleen was so nice to me. She was so patient and helpful throughout the whole process of my dress tryout. She had me tryout so many dresses of different styles and lines. She pulled many plain, bling, sparkly, form fitting, A-line, ball gown type, to appease the two people that came with me and to also help me figure out what I wanted for my wedding dress. I was a little stressed out because the mother of the groom can be a little bit overwhelming and judgmental toward the dresses. I had to discern what was best for me versus what she (mother of groom) wanted for me. I also didn't have my mother and stepmom nor my dad in the picture (They were all lazy, toxic and have been detrimental towards being apart of my special day). So it was very hard to try on dresses when family doesn't want be apart of your best day ever. Yet Kathleen was very nice about it kept me very calm and comforted. She did help me put my foot down letting them know that the mermaid and or super form fitting ones was not my style even when I said I hated it. The grooms mom was so obsessed about it, drove me insane about the mermaid/form fitting style dresses and it was just uncomfortable to deal with. I hated mermaid form fitting because it restricted my legs and arms. Eventually we were able to find one that everyone was super happy that had enough sparkle, bling, lace, a little form fitting, being able to feel cool, and yet loose to be able to move my arms and legs without any issues and be comfortable. I am truly thankful. She made the process for finding the perfect wedding dress smoother and easier than I thought it would be at the first store. It was off the rack and it was on sale and I loved it. Truly grateful and happy I made my first appointment here and got my dress and experience here at Wendy's Bridal. I definitely recommend this place to anyone. It was a very interesting and fun experience with what was all that was going on at once. It's been an interesting experience here. One of my friends is getting married and I am a bridesmaid in her wedding. It has been quite the task trying to find and get our dresses purchased. The first time we went in, our sales person seemed very disorganized and didn't really want to help us. The second time I went in to get fitted, they gave me a discount that the store was running and said if one person in our group didn't make it in by EOY, the discount wouldnt apply anymore. When my daughter got her dress home, she found a green stain near the bust line. She immediately returned to the store and was accused of spilling something on it. The manager told her there was nothing they could do, as she left the store with the dress. She added each dress is carefully inspected by 6 or 7 people when it was received. We provided a closeup picture that shows the stain. We were told that picture wasn't taken at their store. We provided the same picture, that was zoomed out, showing my daughter on the store's pedestal. Every excuse denying all responsibility was used. She was referred to a local cleaner, who said they would get it out, for $150. They called when it was done, to pick it up. When she arrived, she was told they couldn't get the stain completely out and could try again. We didn't want to take a chance on ruining the dress, so we took it home. Several calls and emails to Lila W. produced nothing. Finally an offer to alter the dress for free, was not taken. We took the dress to our local seamstress, who found another huge twelve inch green stain underneath the dress in the back part. There is no way any inspection by one, let alone six, would have not discovered this stain. It almost seems as though we were sold a used dress! Customer Service is non-existent here. I came here with an engaged friend. I thought the shop itself could use a little renovation. It looks old and of poor quality throughout. And there seems to be little seating for friends and family, which I thought was strange. The staff was somewhat nice. The particular woman helping us was okay... I thought she could have been more enthusiastic. And in general, I thought Wendy's policies were are little strict. My friend and I went to her final fitting and, as it turns out, the dress needed one last alteration (3 weeks before her wedding date). Apparently alterations (regardless of the amount of work that needs to be done) require 2 weeks and steaming also requires 2 weeks. I inquired if it would be possible to pay a rush fee and that was not an option at this establishment, which I thought was strange. So my friend is forced to find her own steamer because Wendy's refuses to be rushed....strange. And the woman seemed to not care one bit about this inconvenience. I think brides deserve a better experience for the amount of money they drop on their dresses. This place is was uninspiring and generally a buzz kill. read more

Unfortunately, My bridesmaids and I did not have a great experience whatsoever at Wendy's. We got to our appointment at 11 am, which the friend that made the reservation called to verify the time 3 different times, AND had a confirmation email verifying our time, however when we showed up they told us our appointment was at 10. This being said, they told us we only had a half hour to try on dresses, and when we explained that my friend called 3 times and showed them the verification email, they did not apologize and said "well we do not have 11 am appointments on Saturday, so that isn't correct." We proceeding to the appointment and didn't care much about the time slot we had, since they only have two artists with velvet dresses, so the 30 minutes was perfect anyways. The employee that was working with us made multiple comments to the heavier set people in our group, like "this dress will be perfect for you since you are busty" and while she was inside the fitting room with that same friend, asked her if she planned on losing weight before the wedding. It would be one thing if she asked everyone in the group that at the same time, but to specifically ask one person who was already upset about the first comment, was extremely uncalled for. This employee also came over to us while my friend was in the dressing room originally and said to me, "if I knew she was the one in the dressing room, I would've come to help out." Again, focusing on the fact that she was heavy set and because of that, would need her help. When we were walking out, I stopped at the counter to ask how much the dresses were, and I waited there for 2 minutes while 7+ employees stood behind the counter and talked to each other. This was a very unprofessional experience and when we left, all 8 of us were talking about the employee who was helping us and how every one of us was offended by the different remarks, judgmental looks, and offensive comments about their weight. Came here to look for wedding dresses and was less than impressed. They take multiple appointments, make you feel rushed, only vaguely pay attention to your budget, and pressure you to pick a dress. They are also deceitful, they rip out the names of the designers and the size of the dress so you can't look elsewhere for them and they can decide what size to recommend for you (in anticipation you'll also need to get alterations done through them, the bigger the dress the higher cost for alterations). Also, the associate with us must have been the lead of the day because multiple other associates came and asked her questions during our appointment and pulled her away from my time. Ended up getting my dress elsewhere in Columbus and glad I did. Less than impressed with Wendy's Bridal. read more

I had to sit around and watch at least three employees stand around and gossip and ignore me while I waited. Go somewhere else if you want decent service. I ordered two dresses from them in January '19. When they finally came in in April, they were disasters. NOTHING about either of them fit me. Alterations on these dresses would have to be extensive and require a lot more money and time, of course. They gave me money back on one dress but refused to that for the other one because they had to 'protect the store' and cover their costs. Now I'm stuck with an awful dress I can't use. Overall my experience wasn't terrible. We had a very nice associate to work with us and she went back to pull more dresses many times which was nice. I ended up giving the shop/ experience 2 starts because of how the appointments are ran. The first thing I didn't love was that the shop was very busy and there are many appointments going on at once. The other thing I didn't like was that you can only pick out 3 dresses to try on and then the stylist picks the rest. I am a bride that knows what I want and I felt I could have picked my own dresses to try on instead of trying on dresses I wasn't into and wasting time. The 3rd thing I didn't enjoy is that the appointments are only an hour and a half long which no one told me about when I booked it. I spent about 30 min looking at dresses I wanted to try and an hour trying on dresses which was not nearly enough time. I wanted to try on others/ go pick them myself since I didn't like all but 2 she pulled for me but I was told our appointment time was up. So I left the store not feeling good about any of the dresses and not trying on most of the ones I wanted to. I also felt rushed out since there was another appointment immediately scheduled after mine. I highly recommend that this shop space appointments out further to allow brides more time on this big decision. My friend and I both went here for bridesmaid dresses. They had both of us size at least two sizes up (which we were confused about because the sample sizes fit pretty well). When the dresses came in we were swimming in them. We went elsewhere to get them altered and they both had to be taken in 2 full waist sizes. I think Wendy's likely had us get such large sizes, so we would spend more money with them to get the dresses altered. Also, I felt the dresses were overpriced in general. You could get something off of Azazie for equal quality but much fairer pricing (plus it would probably fit better, which is ironic because it's an online service). I came here on Sunday, October 21 with my friend who is planning her wedding for next year. We had just left the Bridal Expo, and she loved the dresses in the fashion show so much, she begged to stop here to look around. We walked in the door, and you could feel the "womp womp," feeling. It was so tense in that place, you could cut it with a knife. The woman behind the counter asked if we had an appointment, and we said no, we just wanted to browse. We were treated like DIRT from that moment there on. The women who work in that store are monsters. Gowns are overpriced, and the tags are cut out. What? I smell a rip off! We were looking at the bridal gowns, and a saleswoman totally came between us to grab dresses off of the rack for a bride "with" an appointment. This woman didn't excuse herself! How rude is that? I called her a Bitch and we left. We are never going back. To say I was disappointed with the service I received is a MASSIVE understatement. Catastrophic understatement. If I had written this review only having used Wendy's to purchase my wedding gown, this review would be at least 4 stars. Unfortunately, I also used their tailoring services. I bought my gown a year after I had found it and got it on sale, awesome! I bought both my bra and slip for my wedding gown from them, awesome. The sales representative, Lily, that worked with me, was a gem and I would recommend her if you're going to purchase a gown from them. She was kind and patient with me, and never pushed me to purchase anything other than the gown I wanted. Here goes my rant regarding their tailoring... I apologize for the length, but I really think people need to know about the tragic tailoring. 1. Unprofessional tailor. The tailor spent the entirety of my appointments with her complaining, no...b**ching, about the other brides she had to work with. I can only imagine the likelihood that she did the same thing about me with her other clients. 2. Always running late. Every time I went for a tailoring appointment I ended up waiting at least 15 minutes. 3. Horrific Tailoring Advice. My wedding gown had a sweetheart neckline and did not lay flat against my chest, at certain angles you could see my bra. I expressed my concern to the tailor, and she told me not to worry about it, and that after she pulled the sides of the dress in, this would no longer be a problem. LIES. It was a huge problem!! My husband and I were looking over our wedding photos, 25% of them are ruined for the simple fact that you can see my bra, exactly as I had described to the tailor. 4. Horrific Tailoring. Part of this is my fault for not having looked over my gown more carefully, but the most EGREGIOUS error Wendy's tailoring made was NOT FINISHING MY TAILORING!! The morning of my wedding I was looking over my dress and found TWO straight pins in the front bust area of my dress. The tailoring wasn't even minor, it was a HUGE fix that would smooth the front of my dress so it laid properly across my stomach... I immediately called Wendy's and demanded to speak with the manager. The manager was extremely apologetic and immediately asked if I would like a tailor to come to my hotel and complete the tailoring, which I demanded, and had my tailor call me. First and foremost, she outright told my bridesmaid she was lying when she told her about the straight pins. Eventually she apologized to me for not completing the tailoring. I had an appointment here a few days ago. I was seen right away and my consultant was very nice. The first dress I tried on I really liked. They have nice gowns here. Thought it was strange that the consultant didn't want to write down the price or style number of the dress I was interested. Updated post: 1.27.15 My sister in law went in to try on bridesmaids dresses and was told that if she isn't buying from there, she couldn't try on the dresses. How ridiculous, how is she supposed to know if she will buy as this was her first time going to try on dresses. Terrible! Taking away 2 more stars. read more

I was so happy with Wendy's! I had checked out multiple stores and felt overwhelmed. Then I found a dress at Alfred Angelo, only to find out they went bankrupt weeks before I made my down payment on my dress. I was a little disheartened and about to pay a lot of money for a dress custom made online. Ordering a dress online that I won't see until it's delivered to my door is nerve wracking. I decided to give one more shop a try before I hit that "check out" button online. I called them and asked if they could fit me in, within 30 minutes of my call, I was in the store clipping onto dresses I thought I may like. I tried on two and told Lila what I felt was missing, she went into a rack I must have missed and came back with a beautiful gown, on sale no less! It had almost everything I've been looking for. She and Sarah had listened when I talked about wanting a trumpet sleeve look, she came back with these perfect sleeves I can add on. I couldn't be more happy and I'm so glad I decided to stop here last minute! They have options that the other stores just don't carry! read more

I went to Wendy's Bridal because I had a decent experience as a bridesmaid several years ago. Fast forward. I decide to go back to Wendy's Bridal, as a 30 year old something. While making the appointment I stated I was looking for a reception dress. I scheduled an appointment and went during the weekday, around 2ish PM at the end of January 2014. The sales representative was an older woman that I and my sister found to be rude and argumentative. I explained I was seeking a reception dress for my wedding reception. I wanted to find a dress that was easy to dress in and fun. I wanted to be open minded and look at both wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses. She continued to seek information into if I already had a wedding dress. I explained I was having a religious ceremony and would not need a big fluffy dress. The next question was what kind of ceremony. We finally got to the point, I was going to be wearing an Indian saree for a Hindu ceremony. The sales representative preceded to tell me, my reception dress was going to be my wedding dress. I expressed, I did not feel the same way. She continued to lecture me & tell me basically my opinion was wrong and I should not even look at the bridesmaid dresses instead only at wedding dresses. My sister was present and attempted to explain. The representative again ignored what we said and gave us her own opinion on the matter. I was extremely irritated by this woman and shocked at the same time at her poor customer service skills. I and my sister continued to be polite and proceeded into the appointment. Almost all the wedding dresses were $1000 plus, despite the "sale" going on. We did find nice dresses at Wendy's bridal during the appointment but needless to say we never went back. If we had a different sales representative it may have been a better experience. There was another sales representative, who was also older and had a accent. She was very friendly, full of energy and pleasant. However, she was assigned to work with another bride. I would recommend going to Alfred Angelo. I had Christina and LeeAnn (sales representatives) assist me in my search. Every time I have gone during my scheduled appointments, the ladies have been very friendly, polite, patient, and helpful. I am an extremely happy bride and I love the dress I have purchased at Alfred Angelo. read more

Worst customer experience I have ever had. I drove from Cincinnati to this store on 10/16/13 to try on bridesmaid dresses with my engaged friend, who happens to live in Columbus. The bride wasn't settled on her dresses yet, but I went ahead and got measured so that when she decided, I could just call them and purchase. Bride decided on dresses in early November, and I called to purchase my dress. I was transferred to Lila. She said that they "do not have my measurements." I told her that I drove to Columbus specifically to be measured at their store on 10/16/13 and that Susan was the one who measured me. Lila did not offer to check with Susan to see if she perhaps wrote my measurements somewhere else. Instead, she asked if I wanted to "guess my dress size." Um, excuse me? GUESS MY DRESS SIZE for a $200 bridesmaid dress?? No thanks. She then asked if I could drive to the Cincinnati store to be re-measured. I said that I would do that, but could not get there until the weekend because I am a nurse and was scheduled to work 3 12-hr shifts the next 3 days. Lila then tells me that if they don't hear from me by Saturday, they will "have to pester the bride." I am drop dead serious, this phrase was used. Fuming that she would "threaten" to pester the bride when they were the ones who lost my measurements, I called back and asked to speak with a manager. The manager apologized and said that she would check with Susan since Susan was scheduled to work that day. Manager called 10 minutes later and said that they "found my measurements." Worst experience. I still can't believe that an employee threatened to "pester the bride" when they were the ones who lost my measurements. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BRIDAL STORE!! read more
