I was in my friend's wedding and every time I went in to get it checked, it didn't feel as if any alterations were done unless they were the wrong ones. The pant legs were good one week but needed more waist room and then the next week the legs were too long and the waist hadn't been adjusted. I spent $300 to buy the suit and another $210 in gas money having to continuously go in to the store which was excessive. I was told "you should be able to walk out with it and not try it on, but you can if you want to" and every time I tried it on, it didn't fit right. There ended up being a hole where the seating room is and there was no time for further adjustments since it was the day before the wedding after weeks of going into this place. The hole got bigger as the night went on and the other groomsman also mentioned how the sowing on their pants were cheap quality. You don't get your money's worth from this place and in the end, you most likely won't be happy with the end product.

I will start off by saying that it is VERY difficult for me to find a beautiful dress that fits me-…read moreas I am bigger. I went to 4 stores before going into Gowntastic, and all 4 let me down since designers only like to design the beautiful dresses for petite sizes. When I walked into Gowntastic, Marissa was immediately welcoming. She asked what size I was running and pointed to the size rack that had my size. They had a HUGE selection of sizes compared to other stores for sizes 16+. The dresses are organized by size, and each one is in a protective clear bag while up on the rack. Each dress has a little picture of the model wearing it, so you know what the dress looks like without having to pull it down. The prices of the dresses are also moderate- which was very nice. More expensive than Macys- but less expensive than Henri's. The prices are definitely rational for the dresses! When I started pulling a dress down, Marissa was immediately there to help me with it. She put all my dresses in the fitting room for me and opened them up so it would be easy to get out of the bag and get on. When I got a dress on, all I had to do was peek my head out of the dressing room and Marissa was right there to help me zip/tie the dress up. She was also very very kind about making you feel good in the dress. She even went out of her way to try and pick out gowns she thought i'd like when I was in the fitting room. It was clear she cares and values her customers. Gowntastic also has their own seamstress. Marissa seemed more than happy to help me, even when I wanted to try dresses on over and over. I'm not sure if she's the owner- but if she is she deserves the world. This was the one store that I didn't burst out crying in. It was so welcoming and inclusive. If I ever have another event where I need a dress, I WILL be coming back to gowntastic! If you're looking for a prom or homecoming dress, THIS IS THE STORE!!

I had really high hopes for Ladybird in the Short North. My best friend and I stopped in today and…read moreimmediately loved the selection--the clothes are adorable, stylish, and chic, and we were genuinely considering purchasing several items. Unfortunately, the customer service was a completely different story. It's a very small boutique, yet we were never acknowledged--not a hello, not an offer to help, nothing. Meanwhile, the manager/owner appeared completely occupied with another woman who dominated the conversation at length about having so many clothing options that she couldn't decide what to wear to an upcoming event. We browsed for quite a while and were fully prepared to spend money, but after being completely ignored, we ultimately decided to leave. For a small boutique, the personal shopping experience should be part of what makes you want to shop there rather than online or at a larger retailer. The merchandise at Ladybird was lovely, but unfortunately the lack of even basic acknowledgment made us feel as though our business simply wasn't important. Such a shame, because we really wanted to love this store.

My first item from here was given to me as a gift, a shirt that said "Are you high?" on it. Pretty funny if you know that they are located on High St. If you don't, it's still funny. Whenever I wear it out people always make comments about it, it's hilarious. Most recently I purchased an iridescent cropped puffer jacket for about $80 and I'm obsessed with it. I was legit just walking by on a Saturday morning and I saw it... then had to have it! Torso is described as a menswear boutique as they have a big selection of men's underwear and "swimwear" but as a female raver, this place is a jackpot for fun clothes and accessories for those late nights when I'm dancing my butt off. They have quirky glasses, masks, hats, super funky clothing, fun toys and knick knacks, and more. If you're on the hunt for a unique gift for a friend, they could very well have something for you to wrap up. As for me, I'll continue to shop here for fun festival/rave clothes and when people ask me where I got them... Torso baby!!!
