Let me just get straight to the point. This shop is dope af. It's located in the heart of the Short North, directly off High St, and has been around for freakin' 25 years. My first item from here was given to me as a gift, a shirt that said "Are you high?" on it. Pretty funny if you know that they are located on High St. If you don't, it's still funny. Whenever I wear it out people always make comments about it, it's hilarious. Most recently I purchased an iridescent cropped puffer jacket for about $80 and I'm obsessed with it. I was legit just walking by on a Saturday morning and I saw it... then had to have it! Torso is described as a menswear boutique as they have a big selection of men's underwear and "swimwear" but as a female raver, this place is a jackpot for fun clothes and accessories for those late nights when I'm dancing my butt off. They have quirky glasses, masks, hats, super funky clothing, fun toys and knick knacks, and more. If you're on the hunt for a unique gift for a friend, they could very well have something for you to wrap up. Very cool shop in the Short North with very queer, rave-y vibes. Lots of fun strappy things, sequins and shiny things, leather and fringe, hats, jewelry, and great staff. It is a boutique, so they have limited size runs and the prices reflect the exclusivity of the lines of fashion that they stock, but they often run sales to make room for new stock. I purchased a really amazing mens shirt for a friend that is black with a rainbow metallic pattern overlay, and it is absolutely stunning. They have great prices on funky mens button downs so don't miss those if you visit! I'll stop into Torso any time that I'm walking by and it's open. Steampunk in the window got me in, but lots of other stuff that is just as important. You could get hats, pants, shirts, and other needs to be best dressed at steampunk event. They had a selection of T Shirts that can ONLY find here. From wanted poster shirt for Dorothy Gail who got rid of 2 witches to one about 45 that would get you shot in many places in southern Ohio. In your face humor, that even our old farts generation. If your guy needs underwear, you can find some fun ones here that some wild folk even wear as the thing they have on during certain times of the year, especially Halloween if it warm enough. I enjoy this store for its Knicks and knacks and all the cool campy stuff hanging around. Torso offers a wide variety of items for everyone even as it serves as a men's clothing store. There is fun for everyone as I found their sun glasses selection to be on of the most interesting. This store has camp, steampunk wear and corsets as well as feathered boas. This is a men's store but most of the clothes are genderless which I appreciate. 5 stars for great service and awesome staff. We need more stores like this! read more

After reading over the other reviews in preparation of my own I have noticed a common theme; underwear. Everyone seems to rave about the underwear here, but not me, what caught my attention were the novelty tees. On a prior visit to Columbus I stopped in here and bought myself one such novelty tee that said, "Likes Guys" on it, much like the one seen on Glee. However, after I left the city, completely blanked when I tried to remember the store's name. Even though I have visited the city on multiple occasions over the past several years it did not dawn on me until my most recent visit that this was the spot! You know how many times I have walked by this place and not realized that? Let's not discuss that. This time around I did indeed stop in and browse. I loved the novelty tees again, but unfortunately for me the ones that caught my eye were either too big or too small for me. I felt like Goldilocks, except there was no happy ending...or bears (per se). Even though I was not able to find something to tickle my fancy this time around, I now remember the name of this store, and know there is a website that will direct me to some amazing items. read more

I took my family to enjoy the art in the legendary Short North district and stumbled upon this very cool store. What at first appears to be a men's apparel store turned out to be SOOO much more. They have super cool and reasonably priced shirts from statement pieces to shirts that just make you giggle. They have really cool nick-backs, including an awesome robot clock you need to check out. They have a lot of men's underwear that nobody would want to see me wearing, so I spared my fellow Yelpers the agony of me modeling any for you. I was super excited to buy a "Rock Out with your Crock Out" (crock pot) towel for our kitchen. I also picked up a mystery grab bag, couldn't resist for only five bucks and was surprised by the quality of the merchandise inside! The clerk was welcoming, very helpful and easy to talk to. Being our first time in Columbus, he pointed out some cool things to check out. We will definitely be back! read more

There are two reasons I love Torso: the dogs and the underwear. Torso is best known for its designer underwear. Until recently, the shop was just for the boys. But now, they pack the whole store with briefs for both guys and gals. Though there isn't a whole lot for me to buy there, I enjoy the atmosphere. Sometimes they have a DJ spinning tracks. And you're always guaranteed to see shop dogs Louie and Gigi. They're often perched in the doorway or window. You'll see them and stop in your tracks. Eventually they lure you in to pet them. Before you know it, you've bought some crazy neon pink and chartreuse T-shirt. Secretly, you love it. Torso is out-and-out a gay store, perfect for the Short North. But don't worry, I'm not gay, and I feel right at home there. They love you no matter who you are. Right now Torso has a ton of Venetian masks, perfect for the Short North's upcoming HighBall masquerade event. Owner Scott Rousku is also organizing an underwear fashion show at one of the gay bars in the Short North, I think Havana. read more

ALL YOU NEED IS A STROBE LIGHT!! If you take a walk down High street, you must stop here because it is just a cool shop that carries primarily men's underwear, a few other clothing items and lots of cool stuff like jewelry costumes, party gear, masks, tees and an assortment of novelty items. They had these really cool and creepy steam punk masks. I chose a couple of interesting ones to add to my collection. One is called "The Scarecrow", while the other one is a simple masquerade mask that I can wear in the presence of children. My other masks are a bit dark (not evil), and I have to be careful. I initially walked into this store but did not see a mask that I liked so we left. We went about a block before my husband darted into the candle store while I sat on a bench outside. It was then that I realized that I was missing my sunglasses. When my husband returned and told me that he did not have my sunglasses, we walked back to the store and suddenly I saw things that I had not seen before. We missed two sections of masks and it was then that I found two that I really liked. I purchased them and went on my merry way. I enjoyed the sales person working during my visit and I say if you want to "mix it up a bit", you should definitely visit this store. ***Be aware of signs that say "no photographs" until after you purchase the mask. ***Also, there are signs that indicate that they will get the mask for you and you should keep your grubby little paws off. I openly photographed and handled the masks but the employee said nothing to dissuade me and I think it is because I handled the items with great care. He allowed me the privilege of handling a custom made mask that was kept on the wall behind the counter. It was stunning! He knew I wasn't just playing around and this is that shop where little kids and others would definitely want to play. I always handle things as if I own them and I never have a problem. I usually stroll right past Torso if I'm walking around in the Short North because I was under the assumption that it was for guys only. Not true! Well, mostly true, but they do have gifty type items, and jewelry and masks, and a nice vibe that makes you feel like you can look around for awhile without upsetting anyone. Judging by the window dressing it's pretty clear that I am not the target audience for this shop. That said I did drop close to 50 clams at the place. The staff is very friendly without preying upon you to make a sale. I was very impressed by the Paul Frank collection and scored 2 hoodies on sale which made me pretty happy. I would go back for sale items, but there really wasn't anything worth full price. read more

Walking down High Street, we stopped in Torso because my friend was in need of a last minute Halloween costume. They had quite the selection of masquerade masks (and men's underwear)...I'll have to remember that for the next masquerade party- the masks, not the underwear! They also had a lot of hats and other accessories. Everything seemed reasonably priced, and there were enough choices to assemble a Halloween costume. The staff was very nice and helpful. Such a delightful shopping experience today. Despite the city's on going construction, I ventured into Torso with no real idea shopping list. The owner was working the shop and couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Found far more than I anticipated and things they didn't have in my size they offered to order, it was a great boutique shopping experience. There are very few things as enjoyable as shopping local and supporting our community business owners. Both North High Street and South High Street locations have been nothing but great! read more

Torso is a fun place to shop for guys and now ladies too. Just walking by I was intrigued to go inside and see what this colorful window store was all about. I was impressed by the jewelery. They had some rings that begged to be rocked by my right hand. For the guys they offer a great selection of tungsten rings that promise to sparkle and never tarnish. Everything that glitters may not always be gold, but it could very well be this metal. I loved all the novelty gifts. A Jesus action figure, haven't we all been waiting for that? Mermaid ornaments of every profession? Check your dentist and fireman off your Christmas list with these items in hand. Not forgetting the toy robot that vacuums up tiny things like crumbs. If my dogs wouldn't have been so disappointed losing that job I would have carted that thing off with me in a second. The store sells girl clothes but some of them made me have the feeling that they were really made for guys who want to dress like a girl. Nothing wrong with that, just a word to the ladies that this store may not be your last stop shop. The underwear selection was fun. If I could get my boyfriend to abandon his love of boxer briefs this would be the store he'd shop at. Why should girls get to have all the fun. Guy like novelty undies too. For outerwear this store would be great for guys. Cool, Urban Outfitters-esque clothes with out the Urban price tag or the obligation to feel tragically hip when you wear it. I didn't buy anything here, but the shop keeper was really funny and great with suggestions. He was witty and honest ( the robo-vaccum might be better for the under five set) and never made me feel pressure to buy anything. Even better was that he made it fun just to look around. If I was a guy and wanted a cool tee that was in my budget I would shop here. Overpriced! Although Torso has a great selection of fun underwear, everything in their store is significantly more expensive than buying online. Sometimes certain brands of underwear is marked down, but almost never is all of their underwear. Even though it takes a couple days to ship, you can almost always get discounted underwear with free shipping from many online retailers, well worth the wait for the money saved. read more
