A couple of days post-visit update: Wendy's reached out and is sending me some coupons. Thanks to Steph for responding to feedback quickly and to Jessica for keeping an eye on Yelp! I shall share with you my character-limited correspondence to Wendy's regarding this evening's experience. I should add that the majority of the order was correct, but getting the wrong drink really was a bummer. Also, ordering on the mobile app is a pain because their coupons don't always apply. "Pro tip:" pick your coupon first, then order items. The app isn't smart enough to work the other way. If they provided the correct beverage, the $5 double stack wouldn't be an awful deal. The beef patties are paper thin, but tasted ok and I'm not experiencing gastric distress yet. Small fry was surprisingly satisfying, just the right amount in my (and my cardiovascular system's) book. Spicy nuggets are indeed spicy and the s'awesome sauce is highly recommended. It's like a barbecuey, Smokey, honey mustardy remoulade. Anyway, here goes. Let's see if they follow up: Hi. I ordered Wendy's today for the first time in a while. Unfortunately, the order had a mistake in the combo meal, an error that truly ruined what was to be a tasty birthday eve treat. What happened? Went saturday and sunday. Both times put salt on my fries. The second time they forgot my fries. Both times no receipt for the irs. One of the times gave me reg instead of spicy nuggets. One of the times, the meat was not cooked thoroughly. Wasted half a large fry. First off, this is truck stop fast food. So already the people giving negative reviews are grossly over estimating their experience here. This location seriously runs the gamut. On some nights, the crew is on point. The food comes out fresh and fast, on par with a regular stand alone Wendy's. Other nights it's a complete debacle with a simple order taking upwards of 45 minutes to complete. Tonight was a quick night, but it's the performance of the staff that wins the day. It's a full moon tonight and there's nothing like seeing the biggest moon of the summer in the South Jersey countryside with some ice cream. All the shops were closed nearby. Piper took our order - a strawberry frosty. To hear a literate, well-spoken and polite voice on the other end of the ordering squawk box is delightful. I couldn't choose between fries or nuggets for a snack, so I just ordered a kids meal. It's something I'll often do as I could care less about the toy and just want a small meal. Tasty as always. But again, this review is about the people and the people at Wendy's make the difference. I can get past some floppy fries or a half-cold burger if it's all served with a smile. My hat goes off to the manager who gave not one, not two, but three looks at me and my driving companion - a certified full-fledged adult - to make sure I wasn't a human trafficker. I'm no prize and she's quite the looker. The age difference might have thrown her off. Surely in her position at this crossroads of New Jersey, set in between Philadelphia and New York City she sees her fair share of kidnappings. The amount of human trash rolling up and down the New Jersey Turnpike has to be astounding. So a tip of the cap to the Wendy's manager for looking out for her fellow humans. Slow as molasses - this was a Sunday around 6:30 pm - wth?!! I waited almost 20 minutes for my order! An Avocado Southwest Salad & a sour cream & chives baked potato - pretty darn good, both. The young employees were pretty impressive & didn't buckle under pressure. They now do the "name thing" like Chick Fil A. Nice touch. This Wendy's is a good location. Open 24 hours for the midnight fry and frosty fix. They are pretty busy all day long so they are constantly making food non-stop. The downfall to the constant food production is that sometimes they make so much, a burger may sit around and get luke warm. I did just have a cool temp burger and nuggets, however when i brought it the their attention, they immediately made sure i got fresh 'hot and juicy' food. Not a big deal but does need patience. Since i ate inside it was not that big a deal, if i went to the drive through and then hopped on the Turnpike before i took a bite, i would be very upset. I walked in and stood at the counter for a good 3 or 4 minutes, completely ignored by the staff behind the counter. Itsnot like they didn't see me, either. 2 employees made eye contact with me, didn't say a word, and then turned away. I finally noticed the kiosks to the right of the counter and went over there to place my order. Food came out in adequate time, but even though I selected "dine in" on the screen, my food was handed to me in a paper bag. Food was only ok. This location was one we had stopped frequenting but over the last few months there seems to have been a change in management and the results are apparent! Fries come out hot, the drive-thru people are friendly, efficient, and can get complex orders. I have had so many issues with this special location. Today I ordered a large chili, a large #8 and a 10 piece nugget meal for my family. My oldest was home not feeling well and wanted the chili. I get home, after waiting in the long line that went all the way to the gas pumps, and there's no chili. This is not the first time that I have had food items missing from my order. Well I went there to the drive thru. I ask for a chicken sandwich fresh to order. I know I'm being extra asking for that but this location is giving dry chicken sandwiches. I ask for it and they gave it to me but when I ate it I know they re toss the old chicken sandwiche and gave it to me and act like it it was new That's a shame. I have very mixed reviews towards this Wendy's... If it weren't for the two guys working tonight I'd leave 0 stars if I could. The two gentlemen working tonight were very accommodating and understanding. As a bartender, I work late hours and at the end of my day I want food because I was not able to eat at work. The only place, besides Wawa, that is on the way home is Wendy's. But EVERY Thursday night for at least the better half of 2 months, I pull up to the drive thru and am told "our system is down until 430". If the system is failing that consistently and you know the time it's going to come back up (I'm told literally 430am every time) then do the right people know the system is crashing at that particular time constantly?? When I get food from this Wendy's, more or less able to, it's always correct and that will never be an issue. But seeing this Wendy's have a 1-2 star rating honestly isn't surprising. Either the management needs to be looked into or the management needs to do more as far as reaching out to corporate to solve this problem. Either way, getting to the root of the problem should be done (I'm confident this is coming from not only me, but many many night owls traveling down 206 at these uncommon hours expecting somewhere to be open 24/7 like advertised). read more

This is probably the most fun, friendly and just awesome Wendy's in the chain. The manager (Jacqueline) has managed to keep her staff upbeat, friendly and pleasant, helpful and just a good place to visit. Everybody's busy, nobody is to busy to say Hi, or offer help. This is a Wendy's that I frequent often, because I work around the corner. They short the chilli serving so often, I don't buy it anymore. This morning I went in to try the 'steel cut oatmeal' because I had a coupon for a free one. Well, I guess they don't like giving away food, because the cup was only 1/3'd full. They acted like they'd never seen the coupon before, and they are the ones who gave it to me. Come to think of it, as I write this, they never returned my free frosty key tag one afternoon a few years ago when I went to lunch. The drive-thru service is trying my patience, if it's not someone dragging out their greeting a little too much wasting what little of my lunch break I have, it's someone rushing me when I place my order. Today, in particular, I asked for a med '4 for 4' combo. She asked the drink, I tell her and she then just asks if I want anything, I haven't even told her what sandwich I wanted. I tried to ask for the sandwich, but she goes "yeah yeah, I got it. Anything else?" How rude can you possibly be?! The service should be quick, but the customer shouldn't be rushed especially when not asked the complete questions for the order. I paid, I got my food but it wasn't how I tried to ask for it since the lady at the window rushed me. Not even a bloody smile. I rushed back inside, told them what happened and they give me my new sandwich without even a bloody apology. Far be it for me to tell someone how to do their job, but I used to work for a drive thru and even on my amateur days would I have worked circles around that worker. I have been to the 24 hour drive through in Bordentown on route 206 many times. I'm not sure why I continue to go there. When I go during the day I am sent to the parking lot to sit and wait for my food to be be made for over 10 minutes. I have even had the employees hand my food to the wrong car and had to wait for my food even longer. It is no better late at night when I go after work no one answers at the drive through even after I sit there for 3 minutes. When I actually receive service my order has been wrong on multiple occasions (I.e. the wrong size combo, the wrong drink, or the wrong sandwich for a four for four). Most recently I had someone actually answer at the drive through and tell me to go inside because "the system isn't working" if I can hear you and you can hear me you can take my order and hand me my food. I have worked in the food service industry for over 6 years and this is pure laziness. You need new staff who is actually willing to do their job!! If I could rate this location lower than 1 star I would. I love Wendy's and it is my favorite fast food franchise but this location needs a serious management revamp.
