Finally tried this spot yesterday after having it on my list for a while. First off the service was fast, super fast, we got there a few minutes after opening, there were people behind us and people ahead of us and I was surprised how quickly we got our food. Prices were average, bathroom clean. It's a small Spot right in the heart of downtown Princeton. The poutine was delicious. The burgers were good, the sauce on them was ok. Definitely the entire menu reminds me of shake shack but I prefer their cheese sauce on their burgers but I have to try the jalapeño one next time. I like that they have a dog item, I don't live in Princeton but I'm sure that's popular with the locals.

Had an amazing time at Diesel & Duke in Princeton! Their smash burgers are fresh, never frozen, and made to order--just how I like it! Those crispy edges on the burger were EVERYTHING. I couldn't resist ordering both the poutine and Cajun fries (because why choose?!). To top it all off, I treated myself to a fried Oreo. If you get the chance, check out one of their three locations in Montclair, Jersey City, or Princeton--you won't be disappointed!

Simple burger joint in Princeton. The burger quality itself was good! My standard burger came out to about $10 because I added cheese and onions (1$ each). The indoor dining area is cute. Nothing was visibly dirty, but the restaurant unfortunately smelled of dirty mop water when I went. Luckily the surrounding campus has plenty of outdoor seating available to enjoy a meal. I was let down to know they didn't have their Kale salad in stock when i went. Despite that, I can't neglect that I had an overall yummy burger from here!

Diesel & Duke's not only stands as NJ's answer to the Shake Shack/In N Out but also your cardiologist's worst nightmare. Why? 1. Holypeno burger ($8) - juicy, flavorful, oozing with cheese with quite the kick from the jalapeno. Thick pieces of bacon to your hearts content. Chipotle aioli/mayo really adds another touch to it! 2. Cajun fries ($4.25) - Airy, fluffy but crispy. Spicy and salty. Mhmmmm Just make sure you don't mention you've been eating at Diesel and Duke's when you're getting your annual check-up. Shhhhhh

Came here on a weekend night and decided to eat here... the seating area was swarmed by old French fries and garbage, which was pretty unpleasant. The burger was alright - nothing amazing for a smash burger, but I asked for extra jalapeños and got 1.5 slices. Oh, I went up to ask for more jalapeños and was denied anything more than what I receive - 0/5 on customer service (god that photo I took just looks sadder when I see it). On top of all that I was given a cup for water the size of a Heinz ketchup packet (see the picture for scale!!). Overall experience left a pretty bad impression for a Saturday night.

We were excited to do some outdoor dining on a beautiful sunny day. The space is built for a quick bite, bad the menu is not very extensive. What really made the experience stand out was the incredible customer service from the gentleman on the register. He explained how the burgers were made, about the company and even some Princeton history. The burgers were solid, but if you are hungry I recommend getting a double patty. The single was satisfying, but with all the toppings, I wanted more beef. Now, the real apple of my eye were the cheese fries! They were crispy and had about a pound of cheese on them. I literally dipped my burger into it so soak it all up. Highly recommend grabbing a burger and a chat at diesel and duke (they also have beyond burger options).

One of my favorite places to eat around here - a quick, no frills burger joint that wins the hearts of this college town. Eating the SPB (siracha, peanut butter, bacon) burger always makes me wish I had ordered another one. Pair that up with some ranger or cajun fries and you have a full meal that makes you wonder why you don't come here more often. The portions they give you make the prices worth it. Remember to sign up for their rewards program and also check in for yelp- they always have some sort of discount or deal going on that gets you some more tasty food.

Visited this location today . Located on Nassau street. Parking is street and can be difficult . This location is perfect for the Princeton University students and people on campus. Had the smoke show . A little pricey but you are full . You don't need fries. Or died Oreos but they are good as well ( I've had them at other locations )

Excellent food! Fantastic prices. Highly recommend the single burger with a fried egg. So good! Love the small shop and the ambiance.

Smoky is very small and simple. The bun is very thin.

Portion is small, taste is ok. The guy at the counters atttitude is kind of short and hasty.

The Princeton Diesel & Duke is an offshoot of the OG location in Jersey City. It's Jersey's take on Shake Shake so you'll be remiss for not giving this a try when visiting. My go-to burger is the Holypeno. In the homestate of disco fries, the poutine here is pretty damn good. The cheese curds even squeaks. Staff and manager are super chill and friendly.

    Andrew P.

Like many, we are trying to mix it up and support as many carryout places as we can. Poutine was yummy! Cold fries not a big deal, but...order was otherwise a complete disaster, like not sure we got the right order? We ordered for in-town delivery by GrubHub: * 2 cheeseburgers with pickles, onion, ketchup, and mustard. On one, + jalapeno. * 1 beyond burger with ketchup and pickles. * Poutine. * Regular fries. We got: * 1 cheeseburger with a slice of onion and nothing else. * 1 cheeseburger with jalapenos and ketchup and nothing else.. * 1 beyond burger with no pickles. * Poutine and fries. Total was $45.47.

Wow!! The impossible double patty was amazing! I went back within the hour of eating it and got another! These burgers are phenomenal and the classic fries.

It looked like they have outdoor seating for when it's nice out. We would love to check it out in the warmer seasons. I love the inspiration of the Korean fusion dishes. I did have high hopes for the gochujang pasta, but the flavor was a lacking a little seasoning and the pasta was also a little over cooked. The beet salad was solid and refreshing. My wife and I love that it was byob. We would come back to try some of the other popular dishes and the coffee at coffee shop at the entrance.

The classic Korean sundubu chigae was way too fatty, spicy and watery, not a stew. The bibimbop was mostly rice and less fresh veggies than the first time I ate here. For the first time in my life, we saw a restaurant serve up a severely burnt egg (on top of the bibimbop) instead of a simple fried egg. What's happening in the kitchen and their standards to mess up a simple fried egg? (You'll find better bibimbop and soondubu chigae in fast casual cafes and H mart cafeterias.) The non-Korean dishes were better - the fusion gochujang pasta alfredo with shrimp was tasty, and the butternut squash-quinoa-kale dish was surprisingly delicious. However, the true Korean dishes were not authentic and therefore disappointing. They're trying to capitalize on the popular Korean wave but I doubt the truly knows Korean cuisine or flavors. Also dining is on second floor. If you have anyone in your party who can't handle two sets of steps, know that there is no elevator here, and the restrooms are downstairs only where the floor tiles are peeling off and causing tripping hazards.

As we were leaving I reconfirmed it with the person at the host's desk ( seemed to be the manager) , who apologized and said maybe our waiter missed it . But it was a noticeable miss that cannot be overlooked, as that was the purpose of our dinner here. End of the meal, our family's spirits fell flat, but we still sang and celebrated sans the petty candle. Now on to the food and drinks... Mocktails were delicious, colorful, and eye-catching . We tried all 3 on the menu and loved it. Appetizers galore filled our table ... Bang Bang cauliflower had a medley of sweet & sour flavors. Hummus pita board - Warm grilled pita was a table favorite with the small portion of hummus and fresh crisp veggies. Harvest salad - crisp lettuce, feta cheese, walnuts, poached and fresh sliced pear, cucumbers, and watermelon radish with rose vinaigrette made this extra special. Crispy calamari - great pairing with pickled veggies and arugula basil aioli. We ordered an assortment of entrees with all seafood choices . Salmon with risotto , Halibut & Branzino cooked to perfection served with flavorful sides. For dessert, it was the warm brownie with vanilla ice cream and peanut butter cup . The brownie was soft and not too sweet, slightly warm and it vanished in a few seconds. Peanut butter cup was a dense donut texture with candied peanuts We hoped that at least one of the desserts would be served with a candle as we were celebrating a birthday but they missed it and didn't care enough despite letting them know when marking the reservation. I loved everything about the experience at Agricola, but their lack of attention to detail stuck out like a sore thumb , as the poor communication between their front desk and wait staff dampens the guests' experience , making it a not-so-great finish .

The space is small, and the famous Kiseki pancakes take their time, about twenty to thirty minutes, as if they are being persuaded into existence rather than cooked. These Kiseki pancakes are not pancakes in the American sense. They are soufflé style creations, tall and trembling, as if gravity is only a suggestion. They arrive airy and delicate, with a gentle jiggle that suggests optimism. We ordered accordingly. I had the lemon ricotta, which tasted like sunlight had been filtered through dairy. My oldest chose matcha, green, purple and quietly sophisticated and complex. My youngest went with the original maple, a classic executed so well it made the classics feel new again. All were excellent, the sort of food that makes conversation pause because mouths are busy being grateful. My father in law ordered what I personally considered a cautious breakfast. Regular pancakes with eggs and bacon. A meal that could have been assembled in any roadside diner between here and forever. Yet even this was handled with care. The eggs were perfect, the bacon honest, the pancakes dignified. No irony, no shortcuts. Yes, the prices are a little steep. But this is not a place for routine nourishment.
