The crew working this evening does not speak much English. I got mint twice. I hate mint.
I went in to kindly explain, and it was complicated, but we got to some point and then I got 2 in the place of the 1 I was requesting as the Brownie swirl frosty! Wow, so kind I thought! I was very grateful and left, luckily just sitting in our vehicle in the parking lot hanging out with my daughter.
Then I took a bite. It was mint AGAIN. So was the second one! I had clarified to them that I hate Mint. No mint!
SO- I calmed down... and then went back in, and planned to just request a gift card perhaps instead.
Still confusion... so we worked through what the issue with the mint continuing to happen could be... finally after tasting the chocolate sauces, I deduced that MAYBE Thin Mint mix got put into the Brownie Batter sauce bottle... OR their vanilla Ice Cream was mint. Still no clarity/understanding from their end. It was insanely difficult. I was being so respectful, and language barriers are hard! I understand that! Not something I should be struggling with at Wendy's, with 4 workers there @ 8pm, on a Tuesday night though.
Anyway, finally the main guy seemed like he had an idea, and motioned to wait and left... then came back with his phone to show me the translation that his English is limited, and what can he help me with, then offered for me to speak into it. I just said "a gift card please", at this point. The mint flavor was already contaminating my mouth. Nothing would taste normal anymore anyway. So, he then just gave me the money of the Frosty swirl back. I was so very kind the whole time. He was kind also. They all seemed very nice, no hostility (just FYI).
Wendy's is my favorite, THIS local Wendy's is where I usually go.
I am beyond frustrated. Just not a reasonable situation. There needs to be at least 1 English-speaking person working every shift at Fast Food restaurants. We are in America... doesn't seem like a wild expectation. Date Nights with our kids are valuable, the least amount of "drama" the better, right?!
Such a bummer!!!
Hers was good though! I'm thankful for that.
My burger was too salty also, but I wasn't as concerned about that. Also totally forgot about it once the Mint thing happened... Now I remembered. Whatever! Wendy's can't be the difficult place, it's the only "healthy" one!!!
(Or drive to a different Wendy's, I guess.) read more
