There's nothing like Wendell's wings...nothing!! I won't order wings anywhere else, just because they don't compare. The fries are always a perfect side dish to the wings and also, there are 5 different levels of spicy, so something for everyone. Yes, the place is a dive & could definitely use a makeover. One of the bartenders & a couple of the waitresses have been there for awhile now...the service is not overly friendly, so don't expect a fluffy warm atmosphere. It's an old town place & they get alot of regulars, therefore they expect you to know the drill, aka: whats on the menu & what you want. Bring cash, they don't take credit. read more

Goodish food. Terrible service. They literally do not care about the customer. They also stop serving food at 9 and only have a small bar open after. One server/hostess for the entire place read more

Great wing place! What else can I say. I've been here a few times and it's always been good. Nice spot to hang out have a few cold beers and some great wings. Always cooked to perfection. They have different levels of hot to your liking. It is cash only but an ATM is on premise. Staff is very nice. Definitely a spot to try for wing lovers! read more

I only go for the wings.... They are typically cooked to perfection... Tastiest sauce you will ever have.... I get the 3.5 sauce... Spicy ans tasty. If you Cant handle heat I believe the sissy ones are the next spicy down.... I always get an order of their yummy crinkle fries and a side of blue cheese... Don't get the potato skins..... They are not gonna be what you expect.... Stick with the wings!! Oh and expect slow service.... I am willing to wait if the food is that good so .....that's that read more

best wing place ever.... if your looking for hot wings!!! I get them wit fries and a side of blue cheese dressing for dipping. I love the wooden bowl they come in, you shake it up and cover the wings with more sauce... mmmhhhh. service isn't great, but they make up for it in flavor. read more

Anytime I get wings from anywhere else im ALWAYS disappointed! These wings are the best... the 3.5s and a basket of fries. So so so so so good! Its a dive, looks like a shack from the outside and the service isnt the greatest but the food it excellent! You do wait a while for your food but its not too bad. They let you call ahead and order if youre on your way so the food is ready when you get there. They stop serving food at 930pm and drinks at 1030pm. Its always busy when I go. Me and my boyfriend love this place!!! Its resonably priced too! read more

I really don't get the hype with this place. Someone will rave about it and we try it again every few years thinking we just got a bad batch. But the wings are always tiny and they take f-o-r-e-v-e-r. They're sauced skin - not much more. And you're sitting in the saddest college dive bar waiting for them. read more

Best wings ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get the extra spicy they are very hot and very flavorful. The service was okay it did take 45 minutes to cook the wings because because they only one fry later. Sometimes you don't get treated like a human being. But the beer and wings are amazing. I am going back read more

I did enjoy the wings but do think they were WAY to small. I enjoy the flavor of Hooters wings too but don't go there based off the size of the wings. read more

Everything that everyone else said about Wendell's is true. It's a dark, outdated, divey hole in the wall with some of the best wings you can get. I've only ever tried the 3.5s, but they are immaculate so I feel no need to change that up. Yes, immaculate wings. Blessed by the heavens themselves and cooked in one of two fryolaters in the tiny kitchen. I can't complain about the service, because every time I've gone, I've gone with regulars who are treated pretty good by the waitstaff. Minus one star for the upcharge on blue cheese (and to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of blue cheese... but I don't think theirs is worth the extra money) and the terrifying bathrooms. I can't be the only one who feels like I'm going to be attacked by a squirrel or some other animal if I wander in there off my guard. I love buffalo wings. I've always said that I could live off of them. Well, I think if I had to live off of nothing but Wendell's wings, I would be pretty ok with that. read more

I read the other reviews before going, so I was prepared to wait, but I was also expecting the wait to be worth it. It wasn't. The whole place is filthy (the restroom was absolutely disgusting so I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like), the wait was beyond excessive (50 minutes for two orders of wings), and, sadly, the wings were just mediocre. There was next to no meat on the bone. And while I do like my wings crispy, that only works if I'm actually eating meat, not just dried up chicken skin. It's also overpriced. We paid $30 (before tip) for two orders of wings, a tiny bag of potato chips, and a small cup of cole slaw. (It doesn't help that blue cheese dressing cost us an additional $3.00). The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the wing sauce is good, and that's obviously a key part in the ratings for a wing joint. read more

I LOVE buffalo wings. I have had a couple hundred varieties from various restaurants, most of them from the New England area where I live but also around the US. Wendell's Wings are still the #1 on my list. The Peanut in Kansas City is #2, but Wendell's still wins. The flavor of the sauce is like nothing I've ever had. I've ordered the "HOT" buffalo wings from so many places and the majority of them taste like straight hot sauce, there is always plenty of heat but no flavor. Wendell's Wings will burn your mouth but you will savor the flavor long after you're done eating. They take a long time to come out but they state that right on the menu and around the place so if you're complaining about that you're an idiot. The wings are a little small and always crispy. Some say this means they are overcooked and skimpy, but these are the perfect wings from my point of view. I don't like those jumbo chicken wings that other places have. I can also say for a FACT that these wings are never frozen, they are brought fresh and are refridgerated until they are tossed into the fryer and then into the delicious buffalo sauce of your choice. As far as the actual Pub, it's also one of my favorite places to hang out. It has genuine character. The Peanut has great wings, but inside it looks like a million other places, like a Buffalo Wild Wings or any number of chain restaurants. If you sit at the bar (which I ALWAYS try to do when I got with my buddy) you will be sitting with a mix of humanity of all different classes and backgrounds. White collar workers in suits, blue collar workers just getting off the job, college students coming in from Wheaton College down the street, and everyone is friendly. They have dart boards in the back room and plenty of tables to sit at if the bar is full or you're with a larger party. You will also see families coming in. All our welcome and all are happy to be there. I used to live 20 minutes south of Norton, now I'm up in Somerville, but I still try to make the trip to Wendell's at least once a month, the wings are that good. read more

This is just my type of place. I've been going to Wendells for 15 yrs. Love the wings, fries,o rings and pitchers of beer. Great place to hang out with friends. The staff is friendly. It's not the prettiest place but I won't stop coming here. Just a reminder to bring cash! They don't accept credit or debit but there is ATM on sight. read more

Wendell's is literally the worst restaurant I've ever been to. We had to go and find someone to seat us when we arrived and a family of 4 who arrived before us had stood there for 10 mins, 3 tables were free none of which had been cleared from previous customers and they were disgustingly dirty, we waited 15 minutes until our order was taken and it then took nearly an hour for 3 orders of fries and chicken wings, one onion rings and plain pasta for our 3 year old to arrive. When it finally arrived the food was terrible. The toilets were disgusting. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

Have been here many times. Wings are good. Anything after s 3.5 is useless. And a slow service. Kitchen is small and orders take forever

Buffalo wings with 3.5 sauce and lots of it. Sauce was very good but I don't get all the "best evers" for the wings. Small and deep fried....so what? To me wings should be judged on the wings #1 which should be meaty and flavorful, and #2 the sauce which is admittedly good. Add the Blue Cheese for $1.50 and no carrots or celery and the best I can do is 3*. Oh and the only bartender/waitress on handled everything well and with a smile! read more

Had my first bad experience at Wendell's tonight. Wings were cold, waited 55 min for a hot dog and wings. Server was very rude and it seemed like I was bothering her. I overheard her complaining to a table that one of the cooks didn't show up to work. Really? That's not professional. I probably won't go out of my way to go back. I'm usually a huge fan of Wendell's too read more

Seriously..how does this place have good reviews! The wings are awesome, that's great but let me tell you what I'm looking at right now. A floor that hasn't been cleaned at all. Looks like a street after a parade. A carpet that smells like mold. I'm fact the smell in this dump makes me not even want to drink my beer. Thank god the wings are so strong that my nose can't smell much anymore. Waitress is nice. Wings are great. Everything else about this place would make Jon Taffer kill himself. read more

If I could rate just the food it would be 5 stars but the service ruined the experience.

I waited 40min for a to go order of "wings" after the long wait, I Ended up just eating the wings in my car. Some of the wings had a strong potent smell of strong vinegar (almost like urine). Won't be back any time soon or ever again! read more

Great wings, i'll give them that. Mixed drinks are a clear rip-off, and they have some really odd glassware. Though, I guess thats what i get for ordering a frou-frou drink in a dive bar...I like that you can purchase condoms in the bathroom vending machine, thats a definite added bonus. Definitely adds to the whole seedy feel they got going on. read more

Also listed under simply Wendell's with more reviews but just in case....the best wings in MA hands down!

Food cooked when order is placed, so it takes a while. Cash only. We always enjoy going. I get the regular bone in wings and husband gets the 3.5. We always get fries to counter the spice! read more

Awesome wings, nice and crispy. The fries and onion rings are rather tasty too. Wendell's never disappoints!!!!

Hot wings, cold beer, extra for blue cheese and no veggies... Overrated? Maybe, but then again only real men need apply. The wait is long, the service sucks, but there is a jukebox. Don't bring a date, bring your friends and cash. Get drunk and then laugh at your pussy friend who orders anything but wings. If you like bad movies, dive bars and hot, crispy wings Wendall's is the place, if not take your mangina to Chile's. read more

Wendell's is the best hole in the wall bar in the country, hands-down. But on a more serious level, it really is a great dive. The buffalo wings could keep the pub in business alone. There are a range of levels to choose from and if you're in a really crazy mood you can go for the "suicidals". I wouldn't recommend them unless your tongue is broken or you really are feeling suicidal...they're wicked intense. The atmosphere is laid back whether you're at the bar or sitting at the bench-like tables in the front room. read more

Best place for wings if you like mediocre wings and waiting 70 minutes to get your food. Extremely underwhelmed.

Prepare the wait a LONG time for your food. The wings are "okay". The fries are amazing. read more

I hate this place! They need to invest in more kitchen equipment. Wings should not take that long. When you walk in for service someone should greet you. After all you are a paying customer. You don't owe this place anything for crappy service and an attitude. read more

Seriously the best wings I've ever had. The service was not the friendliest or fast, but it warns you of the slow factor on the menu. The place seems like a dive bar, but if you can get past its rough and dated appearance you will find the wings are worth it. Just try to resist drinking the sauce left in the bowl. It will be difficult. read more

This place has the best wings I have ever had without a doubt. I have been coming here since college (went to Wheaton right down the street) and there isn't a thing I would change about my Wendell's experience. The jalapeno poppers are pretty good but it is all about the wings. The wing sauce also tastes delicious when you dip your fries in them (you have to order the fries separately). Definitely take the trip to Wendell's - you won't regret it! Don't forget cash! read more

Best wings I have tried in a long long time....LOVE IT!!!!!

The wings are legit, Just how real Buffalo wings are supposed to be made. The onion ring and French fries were also very good I just can't believe that they charge you a $1.25 for ranch or bleu cheese dressing. The service was a little slow but the waitress was working very hard. I will return again I swear , I love me some real Buffalo wings read more

Employees are very rude. They very rarely answer their phone to take Togo orders. When you call to order they will pick up and hang up on you without saying a word. A simple "we're too busy to take orders right now sorry" would suffice. Although, I'm not sure how busy they could be at 3 on a Wednesday. I'm assuming they're just too lazy to answer. Nonetheless, terrible customer service. I will say they have the best wings around. Unfortunate that some as simple as customer service is what will keep me (and many others I know) away. read more

Hands down, the best wings I've ever had. Not a huge fan of the fries, but they're good enough for sopping up their great sauce.

My favorite wings in the area. Great onion rings and fries. I still gave Wendell's 5 stars, cause the wings have my heart, but the service is sub par at best. read more

I went here for the first time last Friday. I loved the atmosphere and the wings were delicious. We also got french fries and onion wings, equally good. Will definitely go back next time I am in the area. read more

Wings, wings, wings. This is why you go to Wendell's. It's a dive. The beers are divey, the floor is sticky, the bathrooms are almost third-world. But you know what? The wings are awesome, and that's what Wendell's is about. read more

Best wings in New England. Wish they'd spring for chickens with a little more meat on them, but the taste is unbeatable. Don't forget to order your blue cheese and a side or rings. And bring cash! No cards and the in bar cash point is a little outrageous. read more

If you're looking for more than uniquely flavored wings with no frills at a bar go somewhere else. Ok all of the BS others say is true; service is so-so (we tell then in the beginning to give good service and we tip well). No debit or credit cards (bring cash or there's an ATM). They charge for blue cheese (it's homemade, super thick and you don't use much so suck it up). The wings are small (get two orders). Also, the onion rings are awesome and so are the fries. Been back three times and happy every time. I'm picky and like wings. These are like buffalo sauce with a garlic sauce added in. Go when it's not busy like earlier or there could be a wait. read more
