Where do I begin? First, this is NOT a spa massage. I mean, she can do that, but that is not what I came here for. I contacted her through Yelp and started a text message conversation about my condition, concerns, and expectations. She had a set of questions, it almost felt like I was auditioning to be seen by her. I answered all her questions as completely and as honestly I can. She finally accepted me and I sent a deposit through Venmo to keep my appointment. Facility: I always drove by this building and always wondered why they forgot the "o" in Phoenix. Either way, it was a nice building, parking nearby was very easy and cheap ($1 per 30 minutes beyond the first 90 free minutes). It's kinda like wework but solely for beauty and wellness stuff. She has her own room and she keeps it very clean and well-equipped. Her spot shows how much she takes pride in her work. Consultation: At the beginning, she gave two forms to fill out and asked follow-up questions about the previous text convo. She is very professional and she takes your needs to heart. Right there and then, I already knew this was going to be epic. Treatment: My session was personalized to me and my needs. She focused on loosening me up from my neck and shoulder spasm. Let me tell you. It was soooo painful, but good painful. Do you know what I mean? I was crying, laughing, regretting my life choices, and also celebrating what might have been the BEST MASSAGE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. I don't know what she did exactly and how long she did each section of my body. There was massage, heating pads, cupping, and jokes to make me forget the pain from getting in the knots and points that hold all of my tension. It was painfully magical. I hated her, I loved her, so many emotions that I went through... all within 100 minutes for $118. Post-treatment: As I took a deep breath and moved about after getting dressed, I immediately felt a big difference from how my body felt before the treatment. This is what I needed my entire life. She gave me water and care instructions. I was a little dizzy after the treatment. She waited patiently and gave me some ginger chews and a piece of chocolate (I didn't eat within the time frame she suggested the night before). Conclusion: I am so glad I did this. I will definitely come back as often as my wallet would let me. This was life changing. If you need a personal massage therapist, Naomi is the one. Try it. Trust all the positive reviews! I have had massages at the most high end and expensive spas all over the world but this was different. Naomi takes her time to examine the root of your tension and pain and works to HEAL and unravel it through pressure points and strategic massaging. I will 100% revisit her and her healing hands. I went to Naomi for the first time this past weekend and she was AMAZING! I echo what other customers have said in their reviews- she is very intuitive. She was able to pinpoint my problem areas just by touching me. I went in with a terrible migraine & left feeling clear headed (full disclosure, my migraine was triggered by very tight neck/shoulder/back muscles). This was by no means a spa-like massage or relaxing in anyway, though. Naomi uses different methods to work out tight muscles, including deep tissue massage, which can be painful. I have had three massages with Naomi at Wellness From Within, and I am a great fan. I would suggest not coming if you just want a superficial, gentle massage, as Naomi will begin by working firmly on acupressure points in the feet, legs, arms and back with strong pressure that can almost make one cry out. And when she finds tight knots of muscle fiber, she will also work on them with strong pressure (elbows I think) until the knots turn to jello. But, by the end of the massage I am the most relaxed ever, and very appreciative! She has been able to get rid of painful muscle knots in an hour that I have had for years! Naomi is a true professional in her trade and is very straightforward with what to expect from her services. The level of pain during these massages is no joke and if you need the work like I did, it's necessary in order to get results. My shoulder and back have been a long term issue for me and during some parts of the massage I could barely manage to get through my problem areas. What followed afterwards was amazing because I had full range of motion back in my shoulder but at the same time your body is really sore. It's 100% worth the money and 100% worth the pain if you need deep tissue work done take the time and invest in your body.
