Vinny was the contractor who came out and presented us with the estimate. Vinny was very professional and has a great personality. He went over all the details with us and helped us with or choices of tiles for the shower and floor. He also handled getting the permits. He started the job when he said he would and had two excellent workers (Alex & Fernando) who arrived every morning at 8am and many times stayed until past 6 pm. They completed the job on schedule and my wife, and I really like the end product. I highly recommend Lavid Construction, especially if Vinny is in charge of the project. The project also came in under what I had originally calculated, well worth the money!

We had bought a house 5 years back that was in in a bad state of repair. We had to get a lot of work done to make it habitable. For the first 2 years, we went through contractor after contractor whose work was shoddy to say the least. Finally 3 years back we found Vinnie first for a couple of minor jobs. Before long we were calling him for every project. By this time we had confidence in Vinnie's work and also on how easy honest and pleasant he is to deal with. Then we needed more space for storage, more living space and a home gym. We decided to do a major garage renovation project, that would convert the garage into a livable space. I wish I had pictures of the garage before so you could compare. We decided to givethe project to Vinnie without even considering a second option. He first finished the floor, the ceiling with recessed lighting and the closets that hide the furnace and closet that hides the whole house water filter. You can see the first pictures from 2023. Next came the most beautiful part of the project. He hand built and installed custom floor to ceiling closets with heavy duty sliding drawers. Each drawer can handle upto 250lbs. Each closet is unique in how it is arranged. From storing tools, to clothes (my wife's clothes) after she ran out of space in the walk in closet. Truthfully I have never seen anything like this in any house. It totally blows away anything I have ever seen. Now we look at quality, 2 years after we started using the closet not one item has gone out of alignment or needed to be readjusted in any way. Everything is exactly as he built it. May God bless Vinnie and his family, and I wish him every success in his endeavors. My wife now considers him to be the son we never had. She will not even consider any other contractor.

When we were finally ready to revisit it, they were willing to honor the original estimate, which we really appreciated. This is our first home and the first major renovation project we've undertaken, so we were a little apprehensive going into the process. We ultimately decided to expand the project into a full remodel, and even with the additional scope, the updated price remained very reasonable and close to what we had originally expected to spend. Once the project started, everything moved quickly and smoothly through each phase. Communication was timely and responsive, which helped keep the project moving efficiently from start to finish. Tony, the foreman, and his team were extremely detail-oriented and did exceptional work. The craftsmanship really shows in the finished bathroom. RUN from GMBC! I paid $18k to fix a leak in my bedroom and closet and there has been no…read moreimprovement at my home. I hired them more than three years ago and I paid for the full scope of work they recommended. My bedroom and closet have continued to leak every time it rains. I have given GMBC numerous attempts to fix the leak over the past 3 years, but the leaking persists. Two other companies have determined that GMBC did not do the work required to fix the leak and used improper materials. Moishe is the manager and refuses to resolve the issue. Horrible work. Horrible experience. Do Not Use them unless you just want to waste money!

A Nightmare Experience with GMBC: Poor Craftsmanship and Unreliable Service…read more Hiring GMBC for our renovation project was a terrible decision. The experience was a complete nightmare, with their shoddy craftsmanship and unreliable service leaving me deeply dissatisfied. We worked with Moshe and had numerous conversations about the quality of work but he did not care. The project initially estimated to take three months, dragged on for over a year. Here are the major issues I encountered: 1. Poor Quality Craftsmanship: The work done by GMBC was riddled with errors and executed in a sloppy manner. The foreman was rarely present, and when he was, he consistently overpromised and underdelivered. Their lack of skill and attention to detail was evident in poor flooring install, uneven paint jobs, and a complete disregard for precision. A few examples of their subpar workmanship, but by no means comprehensive: -A small deck featuring cracked spindles/railing. The wood was so discolored that we paid them more just to try to cover it up, with the end result looking even worse. -We paid them thousands to level our floor and install flooring, but the end result was warped and bouncy. After we pointed it out, they suggested drilling holes all over our new floors and trying to glue everything down. -A sliding shower door installation that was unlevel and featured a half inch gap all the way around. It was so bad that we couldn't even shower in the room without the bathroom filling with water. There were several issues such as drill marks and permanent marker drawn all over from where they made errors trying to install the first time. -We paid them to install soundproofing on a shared wall with our neighbor. Moshe himself noticed there was absolutely no change when he came over to check on the things, and could hear our neighbor's music as if it was in the same room. There was no suggestion on how to resolve or make the situation right on their end. We ended up paying thousands with absolutely no result. 2. Unreliable and Unprofessional Crew: The crew assigned to my project displayed consistent lateness and unprofessional behavior. The foreman was rarely around and the crew was often on break, resulting in wasted time. Their lack of professionalism extended to a disregard for my property and basic safety protocols. They installed a stacked washer and dryer without the provided stacking kit and when we were told it was ready for use, the washer ended up walking itself out of the laundry room and into a wall, further damaging the unit as well as the brand new floors we had installed. GMBC's reluctance to take responsibility for their mistakes and their laborers' inability to perform as professionals further added to my frustration. GMBC did eventually reimburse me for the dryer. 3. Missed Deadlines and Extended Delays: Despite GMBC's promises of efficiency, the project suffered from poor planning and an inability to adhere to timelines. The extensions of the project disrupted my daily routine and caused unnecessary delays. Inspections were missed multiple times, leading to wasted time and frustrated inspectors. I brought this up to Moshe and he told me the guy was in his car for one of the inspections and didn't see the inspector ring my doorbell. How is that acceptable? 4. Dishonest Practices: GMBC exhibited a lack of honesty and integrity throughout the project. They lied about placing an order for a specific closet door, stating that the one we had requested was out of stock but when we called the store ourselves, they had 5. GMBC just didn't want to admit that they had made a mistake. We had a similar scenario with the original shower door that they had installed where a subcontractor they sent to replace the original door stated that they had installed it incorrectly. Their poor record-keeping was evident when they failed to provide complete receipts for reimbursements. Additionally, they attempted to charge me for something I had already paid for. 5. Lack of Design Sense: They failed to deliver work of which they could be proud and omitted showcasing it on their website or social media. The solutions provided for an eyesore firewall and poorly done concrete work in the driveway were unsatisfactory. Their lack of effort to find acceptable options and costs left me disappointed and seeking help from other contractors. On top of everything, I was pregnant when the project started and then had a newborn when they were still working at the house. It was an absolute nightmare and so stressful. Moshe's attempts to fix things later were too late, and the inconvenience wasn't worth it. Eli got involved towards the end and seemed reasonable when it came to deducting items on the poor work that was done. My husband ended up fixing a number of things after they completed the job. Overall, my experience with GMBC was a disaster. Their lack of professionalism and poor workmanship make them a company to avoid.

Mr. Galicia did thorough evaluation and gave me a clear explanation and bid. He worked with me to find best date to begin the week-long project. His crew was polite, professional, and very hard-working. At all points in the project they communicated with me about progress and took great care to keep the rest of house clean as they carried big two by fours in and carted debris out. I needed to install a Costco pergola to the roof of my patio. Not your typical installation as this…read morepergola was designed to be installed on a flat wall. The roof had gutters and slanted towards the edge where we wanted the pergola to be installed. Jose came a few hours after I had called. He looked over and he gave me an initial estimate since he couldn't be sure that there wouldn't be unforeseen complications. That was Friday. On Monday his crew came and cut away a section of gutter. Then they assembled the pergola to be sure of the require connection. They put two 2x6 of treated wood in place of the gutter that they removed. They had to adjust the slant in the remaining gutter so the water would not pool. Then the surprise, the patio slab was not level. So one leg could not reach the slab. The solution was first class. They drilled into the slab, placed rebar into it then built a form around them for concrete. They had made a cage of wire netting to reinforce the poured concrete. When the concrete was still soft they installed the pergola leg's mounting plate. To finish, they installed metal flashing around the ledger so rain water would flow into the gutters. The job was done right and we are very pleased with their work. The price was reasonable so much so, I gave them a hefty tip.
