The first project an ADU for my in law.

I was looking for a design and contractor company in one and they are it. My search was for a company that knew the San leandro area, coming from the San Mateo, I knew nothing. I informed them what I needed and that this would be two projects. We set an appointment and all went great. Daniel was informative and straightforward. Drawings and plans went well. Just a little miss communication, but all got done and we are now under construction. I do have to say. they do move fast. One month in and we have structure all ready. They are amazing and I have no complaints. I will be updating this post as the project get completed.

My daughter wants to add a bedroom and a bathroom. They already have a design drawn by a designer. They want to get a quote from a contractor but they need the structural design for the project. Do you do this kind of work? How much do you charge?

From $2,800 - $3,200. I have not seen the drawings so it is a little tuff to give a accurate bid. You can email the pdf of you like.

They used their sources to find us the best deals. I'm so happy we chose LB construction and remodeling to do our house. From a three bedroom, one bath to a two bedroom, two bath. Perfectly sized for our lifestyle. All done in only 5 months. Couldn't ask for a better crew to work with, they made me feel like a queen!

My bathroom was very outdated and probably hadn't been updated since the house was constructed in 1960. I met with more than five contractors and from the start, Yovel proved he had experience, a point of view on what would work for us, and an easy going manner. LB's quote was fair and they were upfront about potential change orders or other costs that might come up (not surprising for such an outdated bathroom!). Throughout the project, Yovel kept me updated on progress and sought my opinion when different options were available on how to proceed. In one instance, he came up with a great way to cut the tile so I could avoid paying for a whole extra box. The updates were particularly important for me because I didn't stay at the house during this renovation, because this was my only bathroom. I gave me the peace of mind that everything was under control when I couldn't personally be there to oversee things or give input. The bathroom turned out AMAZING and it's easily my favorite room in the house now. I would happily work with them again on my next home renovation.

I've never had to use a Water Restoration service before so I browsed trusty Yelp and reached out to Fire & Water Damage. Glad fellow Yelp friend Karen W gave a glowing review! They seem to answer calls 24/7 and I was able to schedule an appointment quickly. Mike was main point of contact and gave us an estimate and scope of work. Basically, they had to tear out the drywall and insulation from the wet area, dry and dehumidify the area for days, and then put on moon suits and remove any mold. We were able to have 2 techs come on a Friday and then let the dehumidifier run over the weekend. We also had to tear out our upper cabinet since the top was damaged by water. On Monday, they came back to remove any leftover mode and patch things up. The total price came in well below the estimate, which is a huge plus. Very happy with the service and efficiency. If you ever suspect you have water damage from leaks, call these guys and get the problem resolved to ensure mold doesn't form or worst, spread. Note that their services are purely restorative - they'll dry out the water-damaged area and get rid of all the mold. You'll need to hire a plumber first to stop the leaks and then afterwards, a drywall contractor to patch up the holes with insulation and new drywall followed by texturing and painting.

Arriving late in the evening they worked for hours on the water remediation job that included pulling off molding/floor boards and setting up fans/dehumidifiers. Despite the scope of the remediation growing, Camilo and Sophia showed their experience by staying calm and just working through the issues. Their professional demeanor and calm made you feel they were taking care of everything and things would turn out ok. The team provides an invaluable service in times of crisis. Bottom line, they will take care of you.

We wanted to get our home ready for our newborn baby, so having everything come together and be finished on time was really important to us. From the beginning, communication was easy, and the team did a great job listening to our ideas and making sure the details from our original design plans were carried through. The kitchen fabrication turned out beautiful, and you can really see the attention to detail in the finished work. We also really appreciated that the pricing was affordable and that the project stayed on schedule. Avi and Joseph were our project managers, and they helped make the whole process go smoothly. Having a remodel done can be stressful, especially when you're preparing for a new baby, but we felt good about the work being done and loved seeing everything come together. Overall, we're really happy with how our kitchen and bathroom turned out. Between the quality of the work, easy communication, reasonable pricing, and finishing on time, we would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking to remodel their home!

The communication, timeliness, and finish quality was just not there with our project…read more I'm not sure if this is because of a deficiency in project management, or because of the poor contracting. From the beginning, we were never given a good sense of timeline and when parts of the project were to be completed. Contractors would not show up on days when we were told they would come, and they would randomly show up on days where we were not given any warning and we had to be at work. The contractors that came to spray texture on the walls showed up at 7pm on a Friday night. We felt bad they had traveled so far and so late, but amazed that nobody had thought to communicate their arrival to us. Because the contractors would show up at random times and complete random parts of the project, we were always being forced to rush order parts that we didn't have on hand. This included a dishwasher air gap, a garbage disposal, and the cabinet handles. As professionals, why wouldn't they have a list of required finishes for all their customers? There were also just other instances of poor management. They miscalculated how much slab we needed, so they charged us extra for that as well. The handles on the cabinets were badly misaligned, and looked like nobody had measured the distances to the edges of the cabinets. We had to ask for this to be fixed. There was a missing finished edge on the cabinet end by the dishwasher, which we also had to ask to be fixed. We had to ask for so many basic things like having our window screen reinstalled and the window lock reattached 2 weeks AFTER the final inspection passed. If the final inspection is done already, there's no more excuses for delays in finishing a project. There was no final walkthrough once everything was done. We just noticed that one of the cabinet faces has a huge scratched up area where it looks like someone colored it in with a crayon. Shouldn't this sort of damage be disclosed to your customer without us having to scrutinize? In conclusion, if you look at the work from a distance, it's up to code and done fine. The whole experience has been so dragged out, however, that at this point we can't even be bothered with calling out the weird crayon thing.

They aren't the cheapest out there, but once you see the work they do, it's almost a bargain. I did my research and wanted to find something in the middle- quality without excess. I found these guys. My project manager, Elijah was a total professional and also happens to be a real nice human being. His crew is even better (sorry, Eli). They listened and wanted my input. I grew to trust them quickly and started asking for their opinions about various things along the way to help me decide what to do. Overall, the project went well, and we're happy with the final results. Bryan, our foreman, was a strong asset to the project. Even though he was managing multiple jobs at the same time, his responsiveness and willingness to go out of his way to address our concerns made a big difference. Because we were home throughout the process, we were able to catch issues early and communicate them directly to Bryan, who consistently followed through to resolve them. What Went Well: * The tile and flooring subcontractors were excellent - their craftsmanship and attention to detail truly stood out. * Bryan, our foreman, was responsive to texts and phone calls, listened to our concerns, and made sure they were addressed. He even designed a bi-fold closet door for us, and helped pick up all the material to build it. * Bryan also took the initiative to handle several unfinished items himself, which we really appreciated. * The post-build cleaners were top-notch and left the space in pristine condition. * Throughout the project, everyone we interacted with was professional, courteous, and conscientious. There were no conflicts or issues, which made the experience comfortable for us. Areas for Improvement: * The timeline was a pain point. While we were originally told the project would take 6-8 weeks, it ended up stretching to 12 weeks. * The design process fell short of expectations. Because Prime's in-house designers weren't available, our design work was outsourced. We only received a full design package for the master bathroom. As a result, we ended up creating our own renderings for the other rooms to help communicate our vision to the team. That said, we were very happy with the design and material selections for the master bathroom they did complete. We just wish the same level of attention and design support had been provided for the rest of the project. * At times, resource availability was limited, likely due to workers being assigned to multiple jobs. This led to workflow inefficiencies and delays. Toward the end of our renovation, our foreman Bryan had to personally step in to complete several tasks, such as installing faucets, shelving, and baseboards. He managed to get it done in between site visits and meetings, which we appreciated, but it also highlighted a lack of available crew to close out the project. Despite these few challenges, the quality of the work met our expectations. We appreciated the team's effort and the final outcome.

We are relatively new for remodeling so its good to have a full-service company handle all the permits, inspections, and design suggestions. The Scope: Replace toilet, convert old shower-tub combo with walk-in shower, install new dry floor, upgrade electrical, install new vanity light, install new bathroom fan, and repaint bathroom interior. Aaron was the one who gave the estimate and rough outline of project plan. The team then assigned three designers work with us (Paola, Joanna, and Valentina (sp?) and select tiles, colors and layouts. Everyone was in constant communication through group chat. After all the parts and components were ordered by us (Home Depot, Amazon, etc.) and delivered to our home, Y Group set up the project start date. It took about 2 weeks to complete the job. The team put up plastic covers wall-to-wall and floor protection for the whole job. Despite just working on one bathroom, there's lot of dust and noise generated with different folks coming in and out each day. Inspections were scheduled extremely quickly and they passed each with flying colors. My wife also applauded the tile installers for their cleanup each day - they literally carried a bucket of water up the stairs and manually wiped the floor at the end of shift. In the end, thrilled our newly remodeled bathroom. I would definitely consider Y Group for future remodeling projects. Their integrated project management, design, and execution team are superb.

Aaron had thoughtful ideas about new layouts for our small bathroom, and kindly returned to work through a second concept. He had a great balance of listening to our needs, plus honestly telling us when in his professional experience something wouldn't work in our small room. Their price was right in line with other quotes and we chose Y Group based on Aaron's collaborative approach with us. Paola managed the project and was amazing to work with. She was also very collaborative in approach, and met us multiple times in different showrooms to look at options for tiles, cabinets etc. She had great design ideas while also hearing us on our tastes and preferences. Once the project started she regularly checked in on progress, and dealt with the minor issues that always come up with large projects professionally. We went with a custom vanity and linen closet design from Luis and Gervin, cabinet makers they work with regularly -- it looks and feels wonderful and really maximized the usable space vs. commercial options. Walter the foreman did great work throughout, especially with the large 24x48" tiles. These are hard to work with, and every joint is perfect. Our small bathroom needed a lot of thoughtful touches to really come together, and they nailed it -- the design has really transformed the space. I highly recommend Y Group Remodeling!
