The manager that refused to help or give me his name

Last night my daughter went to Weis On Belair Rd in Nottingham. While on her way in she encountered a homeless family with children in which they asked her for money. She told them she couldn't do money but offered Food & Water from inside the store... While doing so the "Parking lot Security" ran over to her screaming that she can't speak to them or give them anything (Not illegal) He's told them to leave... She said she didn't offer money but she didn't know she couldn't speak to them but continued walking into the store. Shopped for 15 minutes and on her way out.. Guess who was waiting for her (Yes instead of actually doing his job and removing the "problem" he waited for her)... wonderful Patrol Smith. He stated that he still needed to speak to her, she said No you don't have a good night and continued to walk to her car. Guess he didn't like that so he decided to scream at her across the parking lot and then jumped in his car and pulled up behind her car while loading groceries and screaming at her.. "Take them to your house and see how you like it" over and over. She felt unsafe so walked back into the store to speak to Customer Service, (he followed her back into the store which he doesn't work for) He continued...telling her to stop acting like a victim, you can report me if you want. (Yes she was in tears, not playing victim you actually harassed her instead of doing YOUR job and removing the pan handlers you chased my child down) The "Manager" of Weis was no help at all, refused to give any information... instead of treating customers nicely he just brushed it off and acted like nothing was wrong. When I arrived and asked the manager his name he laughed it off and said No he doesn't need to give that information. Ended up having to call the supervisor of the officers who did arrive to actually have the footage looked at and be given all the information I need. Yes I'm about to be a KAREN... How is this not harassment when she asked him to leave her alone multiple times?!

This place is amazing. I have never been to this location since there is already one closer to our home. The inside is huge compared to our location. We stopped in for a Mother's day treat... ice cream and cake. We were able to browse around and find everything we needed. We even talked with other patrons sharing ideas on ice cream brands who was better. There was sale on a few choices, and since the Weis brand was on sale and came with recommendations from a few patrons we choose that one. Then the big kicker the cake was even on sale much more then we thought. Score on the sales!

Geresbeck's has the best sales in town when it comes to seafood. The shrimp is always cheap & they steam on site. On a recent visit while waiting for my shrimp to be steamed, I took a walk around the market to see what else I could buy. Geresbeck's has a great speciality ice cream section. They had my favorite Taharka Brother's honey graham ice cream and some other tasty choices. I ended up in the bakery department and saw SO MANY delicious looking baked goods from a peanut butter Boston crème cake to banana pudding parfaits to mini cheesecakes. Their doughnuts are huge and made with the love of someone that loves to bake. I took quite a bit of photos showcasing their selections. As I walked through the store, I started to get a little hungry for a snack. I came back around to the deli/hot foods department and saw a mountain of tasty looking western fries. Now, western fries are extremely popular in Baltimore and the surrounding counties. I've had my share of western fries from the center of the city, to Brass Hen in Eastpoint mall, to even Royal Farms. All were delicious, BUT THESE FRIES WERE ABSOLUTE LOVE AT FIRST BITE!!! They were crunchy like a piece of fried chicken and tender inside like a fluffy baked potato. Omg, I can taste them right now. They were so, so amazingly yummy. If you love potatoes, or any variation of fries, you'd LOVE these. I actually may go back very soon for a fix. I didn't need salt, pepper, ketchup, NOTHING. Now, for my only gripe about Geresbeck's is that I wouldn't necessarily buy goods outside of the seafood, bakery or specialty items. I found that other items in the store, unless on sale, are higher priced than other grocery stores. But they have to counterbalance that with the affordable seafood prices, right? Anyways, if you're in the area, stop by and pick you up some delicious doughnuts and western fries while you're there. Geresbeck's is a piece of nostalgia that will make you feel like you were back in a time when everything was simpler and easy. They will always be solid with me.

We were able to find a small Styrofoam cooler though, which was great. We struck out at the Dollar Tree first. I don't know if this is Giant's fault, or not, but there are two benches out front on the sidewalk. These benches are placed right next to a building support column, leaving JUST enough space for me to get through in my wheelchair. Yet less than three feet away, the sidewalk is double wide, which would put the benches out of the walkway. So when I was trying to get from the Dollar Store to Giant, there was a large dude sitting on the end of the bench, making it impossible for me to get through because his legs and shoes were in the way. And, for reasons I do not understand, he refused to stand up and move for a second. He swiveled on the bench to sit sideways. I missed smashing his feet by millimeters. The best thing about this store is the ice cream room. Seriously. There are like 8 freezers, all secluded in a bumped out section of the store. I saw frozen delights in there that I have never before seen in my life. If it didn't take 15+ minutes for me to get to this store, I'd do all my ice cream shopping there and never have to get the same flavor twice. EVER. Other than that, it's your average grocery store. Giant can be pricey, but then again I'm usually an Aldi shopper. There are just some things you can't get at Aldi. Decent. Would recommend if you're in the area.

I am not sure what was going on, but this was not a smooth visit. I went in for two or three items at the most. I found the salads and was met with a number of boxes strewn within the section. Another customer and I looked at each other in a perplexed manner because this was not a good look at all. I literally had to step over the boxes to get to the salad. Though this is probably only my second visit to this location, I could not find anything. Since my sole purpose for visiting was salad and fish, my next visit was the seafood department to get some salmon portions. I asked for two portions to be cut from a larger piece in lieu of the already portioned pieces. The staff person told me that he was not sure if he could do that because it was "cheating". I asked him how it was cheating. I told him that I have my portions cut from the larger pieces of fish all the time at other Giant locations. This guy was in the process of having a total meltdown by not only insinuating that it was cheating, but also suggesting that he was fearful of being fired for this process. He went into such a rant that I told him to forget the fish and just give me a pound of the jumbo shrimp. Thankfully, another staff member appeared and told him that he would finish. Apparently, he understood the process of weighing the fish with the skin and simply cutting the portions a little larger and removing the skin. He did so without any problem. Another customer waiting behind me, softly stated that he had never heard of anything like what the first staff member said. I am glad that I do not live in the area because I would never visit that location again.

Excellent prices and a variety of items you can choose from. I was so excited to hear that a Grocery Outlet had opened in Edgewood. I started shopping at the Edgewood location. That store is my favorite. The store is very clean, organized and even the bathrooms are clean. It is a bit of a distance from me, but it is well worth the trip and while I am out in that area, I shop at Gabe's and the Dollar Tree. And then to hear that a Grocery Outlet was opening in Overlea put me in excitement overload. I finally got the chance to shop there on Wed 01/29/25 after I got off of work at 5pm. The prices were great, but they did not have a great selection of items like the Edgewood location. But I did find 2 fabulous items here that the Edgewood store did not have.... Banana flavored Hi-Chews and Strawberry Banana Milk. Although there is no store brand, all of their name brand products are even cheaper than those in competing stores. The layout of the store is easy to figure out since it is on the smaller side for a grocery store. I did want to check out the restroom area and I was disappointed in this as well. It was not very clean as I was hoping. There was toilet paper all over the floor and someone had urinated all over the toilet seat. What I definitely did not like was the setup of the checkout counters. There are no checkout lanes with conveyor belts to put your items on. It is one checkout lane with little desk like areas to pile your stuff on and even that is not big enough if you are buying a lot of items. And the little area behind the checkout person is very plain and stuff is just lying on the floor. It was disorganized. I did not like this feature of the store at all. The staff was great. They were very pleasant and friendly. I may return to the Overlea location again just to grab a few items, but I will be returning back to the Edgewood location for my big shopping purchases. My assessment of Grocery Outlet... They are fantastic! AAA+

I was out of state for about a month and decided to come back to Walmart to stock up on some groceries. Big Mistake! 3 registers open and the lines were going thru the clothing sections. The self check out had about 30-40 people in line. I hear that "many prices" in Walmart have dropped. Funny...I only find the ones going UP. The month that I was gone, coming back I can see a price difference. This used to be the nicest Walmart around, but not anymore. It's dirty, shelves are not stocked, bathrooms are disgusting, lunch meat goes bad before the expiration dates and most of the people who work there just don't care! On a good note, they removed the glass cases for the detergents. Since no one ever came to help you get what you needed, customers would just break in to get the items. The Pick up parking spots are filled with MEN SITTING UNDER THE TREE not waiting for their orders. Sometimes I see people pulling in and going into the store to shop. What's up with that? They need someone monitoring. But it's probably safer if they don't. Some of the people that come to this store are a bit unhinged! I've had SEVERAL delivery orders screwed up. 1. Not even delivered to my house. 2. Took my groceries for a trip into the city before coming to my house an hour late, (County). 3. Missing items repeatedly. 4. Someone actually gave me stuff from their trunk (personal belongings). 5. Wrong items. 6. Rotten fruit. On a good note...for real this time...Every time I've called Customer Service about a problem with my delivery order, it has been resolved to my satisfaction. Kudos to those people that care enough to help disgruntled customers. Do better Walmart. It appears that your bottom dollar means more than Customer Satisfaction. Soon or later the people will revolt!
