Hot day so we're opted to eat inside but their outdoor patio is very inviting. Their staff work hard and the owner, Patrick, works even harder. He's a friendly guy who is constantly checking on his customers, as is our waitress. We ordered the fried mushrooms to split and really enjoyed them. My lunch was the hummus plate with warm grilled pita, two kinds of hummus and carrot sticks. Delicious and maybe house made? RRR got the special, bratwurst with sauerkraut and grilled onions, served with handcut French fries. He especially like the sauerkraut. It was all good!

Stopped in for dinner while working our way up Route 66. Cute place, excellent food, and a very friendly owner.

Chicken & Wild Rice Soup

My husband and I went there for the first time while we were vacationing. We thought it sounded really neat. The restaurant was in a former Mobil Station from the 1920s and we loved the nostalgia of it. We each ordered a bowl of their chicken wild rice, soup, shared a grilled cheese, and ate the Brussel sprout appetizer they offered. My husband is a big brussels sprout fan and so I just wanted him to get that so he could try it and we ate it all, but I was not that crazy about it. I thought it tasted somewhat burnt, but in all fairness, I'm not a brussels sprout fan. My husband said it was pretty good, he never had it that way before, and would give that appetizer a four. We split a grilled cheese sandwich and neither one of us were very crazy about that. I thought it needed to be cooked or grilled longer and to me, it tasted somewhat greasy from the grill. My husband also thought it tasted greasy, without any buttery taste to it. We both like the soup and I'm glad they offered that because it was my favorite thing. I wouldn't say it excelled in taste for us, but it was okay. Unless it was the only restaurant available at the time, I don't think we would go there again, but maybe some others would like their food selection more than we did. We also weren't as crazy about the atmosphere as we thought we'd be. It seemed dark in there and it just wasn't what we like.

Fries four ways and toasted ravs.

We have driven by this restaurant hundreds of times and finally decided to stop for lunch. I am so happy we did! Fries Four ways, Toasted ravioli, PJ Burger, and the Gyro were all delicious! The staff were friendly and engaging. Atmosphere is modern and pleasant, and everything was clean. Can't wait to return!

It's totally worth it just for the flash-fried Brussels sprouts! Everything fresh, well prepared, and abundant in portions. Service was quick and friendly. I also had a Cesar salad with gyro meat and my husband had the three-cheese grilled cheese with steak fries. Both delicious. The patio was incredibly well arranged with tons of flowers but it was a bit hot to sit there. We're coming back!

Love to see some LIVE music here!!

Besides YUM, This cozy little bundle of history meets eclectic coziness is exactly what you need on Route 66 off the crazy highway. The food is good, the place is fun and the service was memorably friendly!! 10/10 STOP and take it all in.

Toasted ravioli and flash fried Brussels Sprouts

Great little place in Cuba, MO! The toasted ravioli was fantastic, and the flash fried Brussels sprouts were outstanding. Must stop place for dinner.

Absolutely stunning, if this place was a man, it might be possibly the only man to pleasure a woman into a finish. Waitresses were nice too. Not a 6-10 skipped rock on a river type of nice, rather than a perfect circular popped firework type of nice. The food was a solid 8-9/10. The only mid part about this restaurant whatsoever is the parking. Finding an open parking spot on a busy night is like Helen Keller trying to find a peanut on the ground in Walmart. But overall this restaurant cured my stage 4 hunger

Flash fried Brussel sprouts

Definitely recommend! The Brussel sprouts were amazing as was the Cole slaw. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the diner/bar was just cute. Our service was great too.

Honestly, the 2 soups I tried the other night are still on my mind and I am trying to figure out how to have them again! How can I re-create them? How can I purchase a gallon of them? I cannot wait for the next pop up! When we went to The Vandy the other night for some cocktails, we knew that Soul Soup would be on the scene serving up 2 different soups for us to try (The High Life and Thai Me Up). The menu was posted on Angie's Insta page a few days in advance of the pop up (see photo of the menu) and I just knew we had to try them both! When we arrived and placed our cocktail orders, we also asked for a bowl of each of the soups to try and when they were brought out the table, they were piping hot and smelled so good! I was happy to know that rather than adding in the bacon to the High Life, they could serve it on the side so that my dining partner could enjoy the bacon while I just wanted to enjoy the soup with the pretzel bites no bacon! Two bowls of soup was a perfect amount for the 2 of us to share and when we were finished, Angie came out of the kitchen to meet some of the customers - it was so nice to meet Angie and she is seriously so friendly! I will keep my eyes peeled to her Insta to see when and where she will be next and you should too! It's soup season and if you want some of the best soup in STL, this is the place to find!

Such a unique and fun concept for hot pot! You pick out all your own ingredients, they weigh…read moreeverything, take it to the back, cook it up, and bring it out to you. It's a great place for friends or family or alone too. They to takeout as well or order delivery. The ingredient selection is really impressive and very vegetarian friendly. Everything looked fresh and they refill often. There are also lots of soup base options to choose from plus a stir fry option if you want to mix it up. The make your own sauce station is a great touch too. The staff works incredibly fast at turning tables and keeping everything clean. They only have one bathroom (it's clean) so just be aware for wait times. They also give you one free rice bowl which is a small but good bonus. There's a good amount of seating though I've heard the line goes out the door on weekends. Overall I really loved this place and I am already looking forward to coming back.

This was my first experience at a hot pot by the pound restaurant. I've only been to all you can…read moreeat hot pot restaurants, so I was excited to try this place out. Apparently, I wasn't the only one because this place got packed by 6p on a weekday! The line was out the door. It can be a little confusing for a first time goer as you enter the place and grab a bowl to select the ingredients you want to eat. The minimum weight that you have to buy is 0.9 lbs, but you really won't know how much your bowl weighs until you get up to the cashier and put it on the scale. My bowl was underweight my first time through, so I went back to grab more ingredients. If I had to guess the minimum cost for a 0.9 lb bowl, it's probably about $16, which is a pretty good price for a hot pot. My bowl weighed about 0.97 and it was way more than I could comfortably eat. The next decision you have to make after you have selected your ingredients is the base and spicy level. I went with #1 Oil splash spicy soup at medium spice level. Now, I enjoy spicy foods, but this was at the upper limit of enjoyability. Although tasty, I think the oil in the broth got to be too much and I will want to try a different base next time. After you pay for your food, you get a number which you take to a table of your choosing and wait for your bowl to come out (they cook it for you). There is a drinking water station next to the free rice station, which was around the corner from the complimentary pickled vegetable station. Overall, positive experience and I would return for more. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2026
