Weidele's is a staple for people who live in RI on the CT border. There are not many restaurant options out in the area. Weidele's is your basic country pizza joint. They have good pizza and a decent selections of sandwiches and other comfort food options. Some times the pizza can be a little greasy. But it's good. I feel like it just depends on who's cooking that day. I would give them a solid 3.5 stars for food. The staff is always friendly so I'll bump them up to a 4 star. read more

I'm not going to lie, I'm kicking myself for sleeping on Weidels for so long. I've ordered here a couple of times in the past but never got pizza for some reason. The food was always good but nothing to write about. But that's my fault for not ordering pizza at a pizza place. Today my husband and I ordered a large Anchovies (Judge me all you want, it's delicious) pizza and an order of fries. It was SO good. The pizza has the right amount of crust to sauce to cheese to toppings ratio, and the fries are thick hand cut style. The pizza is a tad greasy but honestly that's kind of a plus in my book. The fries - Chewy and soft with the slightest crunch, my favorite kind. I need to come back more often. read more

Used to love this place. Unfortunately, I must report it's been going downhill. Food is hit or miss. The fries are rather gross in flavor and soggy. They are inconsistent with sides and often forget included items, such as coleslaw and roll w/ the dinners. They charge more, per item, if you use a card. Prices are high for the quality. read more

Drove by a few times so I finally decided to try. Pizza and a side of balls. The pizza was surprisingly good for local rural-ish spot. The crust is really good. Its crunchy on first bite but then chewy. I also got a side order of meatballs. The meatballs are good - a very good balance of meat and filler. The sauce tastes a bit like tomato paste but is still decent. Worth a stop if youre passing through. read more

Seven of us ended up here after a nearby horse show in the CT countryside, thanks to one family member who frequents it. We discovered excellent pizza (the best white pizza I've had in ages, with lots of fresh garlic and feta, cheddar and mozzarella) and homey specials we don't often see in our trendy Newport home: stuffed peppers and stuffed cabbage (both excellent, tho my husband wanted me to recommend an additional wrap of cabbage). Also available: lots of grinders, pasta, calzones and fried seafood. The whole staff is kind and funny, serving up a yummy complimentary dough boy to celebrate when our 10-year-old granddaughter came in wearing all the ribbons she'd won at the show (and it was her birthday!). The cherry on top: The wine list has labels you've heard of starting at $6 a glass. Our entire bill was just over $100 (tho it was an early dinner and we didn't order alcohol. Next time: wine!) The service tonight was horrible. Actually the last 4 times I have been here the service has been horrible. Understaffed every time. There was one server on in the whole bar and it was full. She was a very nice person, actually the only competent person in the restaurant tonight it seemed. It was so busy we ordered from take out and had some beers at a table at the bar. When we got our food after and hour of waiting, the pizza was black on the crust it was so burnt and the cheese was brown and actually Burt black in places, "uneditable". When the pastrami sandwich came out it was dry, overcooked and the bread was toasted when it was not supposed to be to. I brought it to the take out girl to tell her I wanted my money back. Two cooks one I think was the acting manager who was very rude and arrogant came over. They told me they would cook me another pizza and sandwich. At this point I just wanted to leave and said no I just want a refund on the sandwich. I waited 10 minutes and still this take out girl could not figure out how to get my refund. The two people behind me were like why can't she just look up the price of the sandwich and give you a refund. I said this same thing to her and she got very flustered and snappy. I finally said when you figure it out you can bring me my money and I told her where I was sitting. I sat back down and not two minutes later this so called acting manager came over and accused me of being rude to his staff. Which I was NOT, and I told him so. Then he told me he saw me which was a lie he was in the kitchen the whole time and could not even see what was going on because if he did he would of come over. I even asked the take out girl to go get him earlier and he can just give me my money back which she didn't. He told my friend come with him and he will give us our money back. My friend followed him and this so called manager said to another employee give this guy his money back so I can get them the "Fuck" out of my restaurant. This was so unprofessional and extremely rude. And my 6 yr old grandson was sitting at the table with us and had to endure this managers disgusting, unprofessional attitude. This man was coming at US because our food was burnt and uneditable. (Our pizza was not the only one burnt that night other customers were also sending burnt food back to the kitchen). The so called managers behavior was totally uncalled for and I will never return to this restaurant again. We spent 70 dollars on uneditable food and then was verbally accosted by this so called manager. The owners were not there tonight and I am sure the outcome would have been better if they were but still there is no excuse for this employees horrible behavior toward us. And needless to say we NEVER got the refund I waited 10 minutes for then my friend waited 10 minutes for. We finally just walked out never to return. I would frequent this restaurant at least once a month or more with my family and friends, even though it is always understaffed. We liked the atmosphere, but after being treated like this for complaining about our food we'll find another place from now on. I will say I was deeply disturbed by the rude, disrespectful treatment from the so called managers behavior. There is no excuse for this. read more

I only order take out from this location. I place my order and go right in for pick up. Parking lot is full but always has available spots. They are always slammin and slingin pizza. I love Weidele's one because their customer service is awesome and two because they have gluten free options. Actually three because it tastes delicious every time! Well we could start with the pizza because it's in the name. The pizza is kind of skimpy with the cheese so I would suggest adding extra cheese the crust can be a little soggy so I get well done so like a well done extra or extra extra cheese. Then it'll be good but you will be raising your price up a decent amount. That said for some reason that's not their best food they have a lot of seafood platters and different types of burgers and steaks and just about anything that you could think of from surf and turf and they can be about middle ground on pricing but definitely worth the price and usually not too bad of a weight and if you call in and order it it'll be ready pretty quick they do have an area for seating at this place and it's it's nicer in the evening as long as it's not a rowdy night because unfortunately that place can get rowdy later in the evening and wouldn't be considered a real date night for anybody over the age of like 30 35 years old. But if you're young and into drinking and all that I suggest going there Saturday night. But for the rest of us for food I would say during the week is the best time to go. read more

Maybe it was the type of pizza I got, or maybe it was because I was unlucky with who prepared the pizza, but this was a terrible waste of money. I ordered a meatlover's pizza, which I didn't know could be possible to mess up. For $21 I wouldn't expect for it to be as bad as it was. The pizza came out way overcooked, to the point where the pepperoni on the pizza was curling back and shattered when touched. The pizza was as cooked as it could get right up to the point of burning without it turning out overly blackened. To make this even worse, they decided to put breaded chicken on the pizza - which isn't inherently bad, but when you overcook the pizza to the extent he overcooked it, the pizza comes out even more disgustingly dry. What an absolute waste of $21, I would never expect it to come out so bad. Maybe if the pizza was made by someone else it would be better, so if you call to order a pizza, hang up if a boy answers the phone. I should have taken a picture to show you it, or I should have checked the pizza before paying for it. read more

Extremely friendly staff. Jalapeño poppers were great and seemed like they were made fresh. Sausage, onion and pepper pizza has all fresh toppings but I would not get pizza there again. The sauce was very bland and had no flavor. The place was very old looking and in need of some serious renovation. Especially the floors with the buildup of dirt and grime around every edge and corner. Very decent prices . I live right down the road, so when I really want something late at night, it's the go to place. I haven't had the pizza in a few years but last time I did it was greasy. We usually stick to the fish and chips. French fries are great and hand cut, usually very greasy, though. The fish is great, but the tartar sauce sucks. I wish I didn't get sick from the greasiness every time because it just tastes so good. Fried clam dinner is frozen, not very great. Service...eh. I usually have to wait while I am there for my food for pick up, as the guys yell back and forth at each other and ignore my presence. read more

Pretty terrible quality. Food is extremely inconsistent, some days it's decent and others it's completely disgusting. The pizza has so much grease that it soaks through the box, and the cheese slides right off. The fries come out nasty, soggy and brown. I'm assuming the oil never gets changed.
