Impressive selection in the space Friendly, forthcoming,…read morehelpful staff Convenient location Some family recently moved to Danielson and I spotted this place on the commute to and from a few times and didn't stop in. After a little while, that family member brought some Arrogant Bastard Ale for me from Friendly Spirits and I thought I needed to give the place a try. I finally got (and took) my chance. Delighted I did. The store isn't very large, but they're prudent with what they stock. Wines were plentiful in what they deem their "Wine Country," sorted and signed helpfully. Beers are available cold or in their warm shelf segment for specialties. Liquor is in a few runs of aisles like any store. The staff was very forthcoming and eager to assist, which I appreciated, even as I was just getting the lay of the land. Prices were fair - they know what they're doing and charge accordingly. There were a few deals in the wine section, and bonus points for carrying several less-common beers in singles on the top shelf of their coolers at reasonable costs. I walked away with a Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin, Captain Lawrence Imperial IPA, Abita SOS Pilsner, and a Pike Naughty Nellie (all bombers), and a great first impression of Friendly Spirits. I'll be back as frequently as family commitments allow, definitely.

Yankee Spirits is a wine & spirits store that opened in Sturbridge, Massachusetts in 1971. The…read moreliquor superstore is one of the largest in New England and carries a wide selection of wine, spirits, beer, hard cider, and mead at very competitive prices. As of 2026, there are additional locations in Attleboro, Norwood, and Swansea. I recently made a trip to Yankee Spirits while I was passing through the Sturbridge area. I have visited before, but this was my first visit in about six years or so. They have an absolutely enormous selection of alcoholic beverages, but I was only interested in exploring their very impressive selection of craft beer. I don't make it to this area very often, so I was most looking forward to see if they carried anything that's either hard to find or just totally unavailable in my home area of New Haven, Connecticut. I spent maybe a half hour just walking down the aisles and seeing what all of the options were. Afterwards, I was ready to begin shopping. I ended up purchasing a pretty sizable haul which should keep my refrigerator full for a while. Most of the beers I grabbed were rare barrel-aged stouts, but I also picked out a few IPAs and other various styles that no longer get distribution in my home area. If you're looking for a serious selection of excellent craft beer, wine, or spirts in New England then look no further than Yankee Spirits!

I don't even know why I bother going anywhere else for libations. Seriously every time I come here…read moreI say that. They have EVERYTHING. An obscure cider brand from Michigan you tried once on a vacation? Not only do they have it they have a variety from that same brand. Want a wine you can only describe in flavor and maybe to e color of the label? They got someone that can hunt it down for you. Don't know how to host a tasting event? They created the PhD on the subject. It's actually not a good place if you get overwhelmed easily as the store has about 800% inventory at all times and they span from the basics to absolute top shelf temp/humidly controlled storage for basically anything you can drink. Staff is so helpful they make shopping pleasant - I went in looking for Marsala wine to make a chicken dish and after talking to a wine person there I had 3 more dish ideas and left with something completely different than Marsala wine - and it was incredible. Perfect recommendation. The most selection of liquor , the largest variety of cider and microbrews and a staggering selection of wine, again I can't see a reason to go elsewhere anymore.
