So very disappointed in this place. I hardly ever write bad reviews but I am still in shock at what my order came out to be. My family had been going to this place for years. The food used to be hot, fresh, plentiful & surprisingly good quality. But now I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED? The spicy seafood noodles I ordered came with 2 small sad pieces of fried fish, 1 tiny shrimp (the size of a dime) and some small bits of "seafood", less than a handful total. I have always ordered this dish in the past and was always surprised on the amount of seafood was packed in. It used to look just like the picture on the menu with the exception of the noodle, you can't say that about many places. I completely understand businesses are having a hard time with covid but don't do this to your customers. I would have happily paid more to get the quality and actual seafood I used to get from this place. I feel ripped off for paying $10.99(+tax) for basically noodles. I am all about supporting small business and even more so during these times but I'm questioning about returning back due to the drop in quality and lack of honesty toward the customer. *If you are advertising a dish to look and have certain items, a customer should get what they pay for, or close to it.* As customers, we work hard for our money too, just like you, and I'm sure you would be disappointed if you choose to loyally spend your money somewhere and didn't get what you paid for. Let me make this quick. Went in 45 mins till closing so already guy at the counter has an attitude acts like he doesn't speak english when I ask questions. I order beef lo mein extra beef and wings. Paper menu says 5.99 wall menu says 5.99 register screen says 6.99 I point it out and he shrugs says "ok." So, I think he's going to change it. He says no, that's price. I show him the paper menu and he shrugs and says menu on wall is correct price has changed. I point to the menu on the wall...tell him to look and he rolls his eyes looks back then has a confused look on his face. I said can you fix it now please? He says no. I asked for his managers name he points to himself so he says owner changed it. I ask for owners name and contact number...it's the principle. He does not give it to me so I ask the woman working with him and she goes and tells him and he keeps shaking his head like he's annoyed. So I talk to someone who calls me and I speak in spanish...he pops his head up looking confused..like didn't just hear him talking crap about me in spanish a few mins ago. I ask him now in spanish, whats your owners name and number. He gets annoyed and call his boss and hands his phone to me all pissed off and shaking his head. The owner some asian lady keeps telling me the same story that they changed the menu..I told her im looking at it it says 5.99 she says no it's 6.99 now that's the price. I told her that's bait n switch, while I know it may not be intentional...it is. Asked her to refund my dollar and finally after some more arguing the man speaks to her..miraculously in english even though her english is not good...what a miracle we witnessed this evening! During my wait for my food, I smelled a quite foul odor(like feces odor) but thought maybe it was a drain nearby. While eating the chicken, something was fried into one of the nuggets. Hey, this place is Wei Tasty! We live very close to this establishment and we decided to give it a try. It smelled great when we walked in and the service was prompt. Within 5 minutes we had our dumplings and main entrees in front of us. Everything was made to order and piping hot. I had salad from the salad bar, it's was minimal but good. My husband ordered the fried dumplings as an appetizer--they were really great--better than Pei Wei. We ordered honey sesame chicken--piping hot and wonderful. The sauce was rich and it didn't taste plasticky. My husband ordered orange chicken, it wasn't super spicy which was awesome! It was as fresh and good as my honey sesame chicken. The fried rice was good too. We ordered the sugar biscuits to go and they were awesome too! (20 for $3!) We will definitely be returning. Setup: The building was definitely a leftover from a fast-food chain, but Wei Tasty Asian did a good job of rearranging the place so that it would produce a different kind of character. As you walk in through the entrance on the side of the building you are greeted by a counter on your left (like you would expect from a whataburger). The staff is young and welcoming and quick to assist. The menu is easy to read and study so getting started to find out what you want to order is quick and easy. The decor is a little awkward in some places. It's a fast-food joint, that is modern, yet also is dressed with varnished wood fixtures. Food: Terrific. The portions are huge and the flavors super satisfying. A good change from the same-old mundane flavors that you get from the "bigger-guys" for this type of cuisine. The ordering style is pretty simple; pick your meat, carb and dish type (kung pao, teriyaki, etc.). I had the kung pao chicken (an easy go-to if you can't decide). I got 2 big gobs of rice that were perfectly cooked and the other 2/3 of my plate was covered in kung pow chicken. Not too oily, balanced flavor and a lot of it. This was definitely a great pick for lunch. Expect to spend less than $10. 4-stars because I feel like the ambience could have been taken up a notch with some obscure placing of stuff (but that's being nit-picky), but food did and value definitely carries the bulk of the star rating. Love the sauce that comes with them. 8 dumplings for $3.99 is a pretty good deal considering most places charge $6.99+ for a lower quantity. For a drive through Asian place, this one is outstanding. The items I get BTHO Panda Express, and taste fresh. Occasionally my Diet Coke tastes a little flat, but otherwise, I'll keep coming back for more. However, I pushed aside every dough covered portion that did not contain chicken and it outweighed the portions that did contain chicken and much of the chicken was shredded pieces. I didn't have a lot of time so went to their drive-thru to get a quick order in. I said pad Thai with chicken & veggies. Their menu says the options are "veg,chicken" for $6.99, beef & other proteins for $7.99. Understanding there's a chance there is an upcharge for 2 options, I still said chicken & veggies because I wanted both. I hear a male respond with "oh geez" or something to that effect & I then it went silent for a while. He didn't even respond until the 3rd time I said hello. He said he was going to have to charge me extra if I want chicken AND vegetables, which I was fine with & said ok give me both, but then he goes on to clarify saying "A lot of people get confused with that, but that's why the menu says vegetables OR chicken, and that's why people go to school these days" & continued shouting & having an attitude. I was immediately infuriated, so I said "OK thank you!" & drove off. That is seriously not what I went to a drive-thru for. Not that it matters to him, but I DID go to university & I DID graduate. So for someone who's job is just to take my order & give me my food, that was totally uncalled for, when they are the ones with the menu that doesn't say "veggies OR chicken." If this is such a huge issue with customers mistaking chicken & veggies for one price, maybe Wei needs to update their menu. And if someone wants both chicken/veggies, AND they're willing to pay for it after a rude explanation, then just give it to them. This place definitely lives up to its name! I got the vegetarian plate, extra spicy, consisting of tofu and broccoli and a cup of miso soup. Crazily enough, the tofu was good! This is one of the first Asian places I've had around this area that actually knows how to properly cook tofu. Overall, the food itself was delicious and spicy, just the way I like it! But where I asked for steamed rice (a vegetarian wants steamed rice? Go figure.) I was given fried rice which contains eggs. I guess I was expecting too much for the pad Thai to taste like most pad Thai dishes. This one had a unpleasant aftertaste (like sardines) and had none of the traditional pad Thai taste. Unfortunately, this was the better of the two dishes. Where to start on the sweet and sour chicken. The breading was too thick, and it was soggy. Some of the parts were burnt, but the worst was the fact that one of the pieces had a hair cooked into the breading. I realized this after I bit into it. No Bueno. Look, I don't mind quick and cheap Chinese places, but the food has to be at least edible. We ended up throwing out both dishes.
