The minute I walk into Wegmans, I feel a rush of excitement and happiness. This is an entirely unique feeling reserved for Wegmans, Costco, and Target. Do try their prepared foods shrimp dumplings dim sum--while it's not close to what you would find at an actual dim sum restaurant, it's a pretty acceptable substitute when you're an hour outside of Boston and craving something light and fresh for lunch. Also do try their french vanilla muffins from their fresh baked goods bakery aisle! I've had mixed luck with fruits from any retailer that is not Whole Foods or Wegmans. Even Wegmans bulk size (club pack) fruit keeps fresh longer than comparable club packs at Costco or other grocery stores. And yes--definitely visit their beer, wine, liquor section. I found prices on a few things were better than the New Hampshire State liquor store. LASTLY but tantamount to the 5 star review, is their customer service. I have never encountered a rude or indifferent Wegmans employee. From people stocking shelves to the prepared food servers to their sometimes teenage cashiers--everybody is so warm and friendly. The experience of shopping at Wegmans is amazing. Really looking forward to the Chestnut Hill location opening up closer to Boston! read more

This place is incredible! Selection is fantastic. The meat, seafood, and produce amazing quality. Prepared foods excellent. Like no other grocery store in MA. Puts others to shame really. Some items are a bit pricier, but the quality is stellar...all in all very competitive pricing on many items. The store is very large---even with a huge crowd there I got parking easily, got through the store w/ 2 young kids and through the checkout with no problem. I was in the store for 2+ hrs and didn't even really get to see everything! It won't replace my routine grocery shopping (too far away from the south shore) but definitely can see coming her a few times a month! You must go see this store...it will blow your socks off! read more

I drive 25 minutes to Wegman's just to eat. Serioiusly, you get the pickiest group of friends together, and Wegman's is the place to be: thai, indian, dim sum, sushi, pizza, sub, burritos, and vegetarian sections. Granted they are not the most authentic thing you will ever get, but it is pretty darn close to it! The liquor store is also pretty amazing - excellent selections of wine and draft beer, lots of liquors too but not the widest selections. They don't even have fruit loop vodka when I went, I know there are more Three Olives flavors than what they have on the shelf. As to groceries, I don't do a lot of shopping there. For one thing I don't want to have my groceries sit in my car for 25-30 minutes especially on a hot summer day, but if it was non-perishables, then I don't mind buying them here and there. The family pack are pretty good deals. But mainly, I go to Wegman's to stuff my face, and it's a-ok! read more

This place is huge!!! I say this place is like a Stew Leonard's meets Whole Foods. It's probably a tad larger than Stew Leonard's, with aisles of everything you need and is like a Whole Foods because they have a self serve food court. However this food court is awesome! They have food from almost all over the world, and have a great vegan and vegetarian food self serve aisle. There is also a large area where you can eat. There is even a separate area of beer, wine and spirits, and what can I tell you, it's huge! Beer, wine and spirits from all around the world! read more

Wegmans - Grocery Near Me - Northborough, Massachusetts

I've been enjoying sushi for years, never have I had an issue with freshness until today. I purchased Kiwi king Salmon at Wegman's in Northborough, Ma. It was not edible and the chef had just made it so he was purposely using bad fish. Very disappointed because now I have to get something else to eat for dinner. read more

Seriously Im in love with this store. If Publix (for you southerners), Whole Foods and Stop and shop had a beautiful baby it would be Weggies. The prepared food section is mind blowing - Thai, Chinise, Comfort foods, Sushi, plus a huge vegetarian/vegan section. Whole Foods never even has any Vegan or Vegetarian hot dishes usually, just the salad bar so I was so happy to see all the options at Wegmans for hot and cold Vege/Vegan dishes. Everything I usually buy and can only find at Whole Foods is all in the Natural section of Wegmans - Kombucha, Seitan, Vegan cheeses etc And the liqour store is open later than most of the regular liqour stores in the area, and has a great selection. Its nice to have a one stop shop here. I could go on and on, but it is one thing about living out this far now. read more

So hit this place up for the 1st time...and seriously this place gives you that 'touristy' feeling when ur first taking it all in. I can't imagine not finding what you're looking for...there is just so much stuff. Ate at the 'Market Cafe' buffet...but despite all of the options available...salads, home style, Indian, Asian to name a few...a piece if Sicilian pizza called out to me. Also grabbed a couple chicken wings, ya know...just to have more to write about. I think the main reason was these items looked like they had recently been prepared. While some of the other items looked like they had been waiting for consumption for a while. Pizza was fine... Chicken wings were good...at least the teriyaki and BBQ ones were. The buffalo were a bit dry and lackluster in spice. In regards to groceries, I had big plans, but realizing I knew where nothing was I found myself looking for a map...and prolly needed more time to explore. Next time for sure... read more

Our 3rd visit there was just as great as our first, just not as crowded. It seems immensely better not being packed inside like sardines. Prices for most things is fine but some are as high as other higher priced grocery stores. Parking still sucks though because of how packed it gets, but that's not Wegmans fault. read more

Mind blowing delight. And yes, they have the same or lower prices for everyday items than Price Chopper, Stop and Shop or Hannaford's. I can attest to their great prices as I have been comparing for over a year now. Wegman's has top notch customer service in every department and they are staffed up to the hilt. Not like horrible Price Chopper in Marlboro where the employees are the rudest human beings in the world. I'll take the drive to Wegman's anytime day or night. I buy the prepackaged single serve meats and it has saved me money. I only open up what I need to cook and nothing goes bad. Top quality meats. My boyfriend and I can each have something different for dinner. No other supermarket packages their meats this way. Cost efficient for single adults. Their produce is the freshest of any grocery store. You can even buy pre-washed and pre-cut veggies and produce: time saving and this stuff flies off the shelves. Wegman's knows what consumers want and they are doing a great job. Their bakery is the best. No burned bagels like Price Chopper! The lunch/dinner buffet is fresh and scrumptious: no burned chicken like Price Chopper! Try their pre-made meatloaf or other seasoned dinners ready for the oven. Great deals! Great taste! I buy my favorite wine at Wegman's for 1/2 the price at my nearest liquor store. Amazing. Go to Wegman's, take your time and have fun. Enjoy the most amazing grocery shopping experience. The customers here at Wegman's are so much nicer than the scummy ones at Price Chopper and Market Basket. Trust me: best experience :) read more

It has been over a year since my last review and things have changed over there. Everyone is in a mask. We like everything except the produce. The lettuce goes bad too fast and the avocado does not ripping well. we like everything else. read more

Wel I was mixed on whether I should give this place 2 or 3 stars. I guess it really depends on intent, experience and expectation. Like others have said it's the "Disney Land of grocery stores" or you could say that it's similar to a Jordan's Furniture as compared to other furniture stores. Lots of glitz and service here, but I personally just don't go to grocery stores for the experience. I would much rather go for the prices. That said, the relatively new and very large Market Basket in North Oxford (just off the 4th exit down 395) is worth the 12 mile highway ride from my house. The prices are about 2/3rds the cost of Wegmans and if I am doing $200 worth of groceries for my family at Wegmans; that same shopping trip would cost me $120 a Market Basket which is a savings of roughly $80 a week or so. I guess if you are comparing Wegmans to a Price Chopper or a Stop and Shop it does really blow them right out of the water for the experience and has similar pricing and some deals So in conclusion, go to Wegmans for the experience of places inside like The Wockery, full Liquour store and incredible, but expensive bakery, but if you are shopping for a family take a drive once a week to Market Basket like I do and save the extra $80 or so for other family activites that are more fun then then a grocery shopping experience . read more

Why are you so damn far away? I hate you. I love you. I went to college in Rochester, so I'm a Weg fan. They finally bring one here, it's great and it's tooooo far. Weg's store brand rocks. Who knew that their cheapo-generic light cheese sticks way outdo Frigo's??? Now I know. The prepared food is awesome, so is the bread, meat and seafood. We need one in the close-by Boston burbs. I vote Burlington!!!!! It's bigger than my home town (success), close to boston, and surrounded by sucky grocers! read more

I have been here a few times and I have to agree with most of the reviewers here. It is expensive and usually crowded no matter what time of day or night you go. So far the main reason I shop here is because their bottle return takes virtually every kind of carbonated beverage can and beer bottle, accept angry orchard and woodchuck hard ciders even though they are carbonated. So I load up my car, go to their bottle return, get about $20.00 or so in bottle return vouchers and then go shopping in the store. I try to use as many store and manufactures coupons as I can. I especially like the $5.00 off $25.00 purchase store coupons. I did notice when they first opened they would send out coupon packets which were awesome. Now they just do the occasional flyer, *que sad trombone*. Anyways every staff member I have encountered were nice and never had any issues. I do have issue with how much noise gets generated not only from the crowds but from the toy train set that drops down from the ceiling. I understand it is there to entertain, but any time I am in the store and I am trying to tell my partner something like, "Hey can you grab some milk.", that darn train always seems to be passing by and blowing it's whistle. The crowds can be overbearing. If anything the only time I've encountered rudeness at the store is from a fellow customer. Not sure Wegman's can really do anything about that. read more

Although super crowded on weekends, during the week it is a pleasure to shop here. Helpful staff, stocked shelves, great nature isle, and overall a wonderful experience! read more

Dont go to Wegmans on a Saturday! A zoo of humanity. Take notice of the less than great produce at screaming high prices. General lay-out of the building not great. Cell phones do not work inside. Staff are remarkably friendly as a positive. read more

Consistent speciality supermarket. Very clean. On par or better than trader joes or whole foods. The hot food especially the pizza is at s high standard of quality. Economically viable. The sushi is a nice perk. Tasting on certain days. The cheese tasting personnel always pleasant and enthusiastic. Very helpful staff. Wide array of products across the spectrum. Decent number of checkout counters lead to short lines. read more

My favorite grocery store! I love their web site, you can find all information you are looking for is in there. It is very impressive. I also love their organic lines. Since anything with "organic" seems more expensive, but buying their own organic brand helps a lot! They also carry a lot of International food. I have "stop and shop", "price chopper" and "shaw's" within 5 min from our house, but it is well worth for me to drive 20 min to shop at Wegman's. read more

The best supermarket in America and this location is unbelievable. Prepared food section is top notch. Wine and liquor store in the back has great deals and a huge selection. Employees are happy and helpful. I order a lot of catering and they always do a great job here. The only thing missing is a loyalty program for catering department. read more

4 solid super stars for the place that put super in supermarket. whats not to love? great variety! awesome hot bar! good sushi (pricey though!) free sodas in the food court! foreign products galore! 20 open check out lines! helpful knowledgeable staff! crazy rewards card with free stuff out the nose! (are you waiting for the shoe to drop?) ok, when they opened the crowds were redic, but now, not so much. just you wait till they open in chestnut hill and its a total mess. oh, also fyi, do not mix all the different chinese foods together in on to go box, it becomes a total flavor mess. read more

Excellent store, definitely the best grocer in western mass. Always small carriages available, food is typically well stocked, they're open late, fish and produce is fresh and register lines are short. Also there's a huge selection of liquor and beer inside! One negative I would say is the bagels could use some refining, they're a bit stiff and thin but other than that this place is great. read more

If you don't get lost among all the numerous aisles - you will love it. I think the selections, the quality, and prices are great. I haven't visited this store more than a few times but I found it to be great. I believe with a new store addition in Chestnut Hill this market chain should really take off in MA. Check it out, if you are looking for a wide selection and friendly stuff this is the store for you. They also have a nice cafe section for a quick snack or a full on dining?! :) read more

I first came to know Wegmans visiting friends in Pennsylvania. The highlight of the trip usually included shopping for a home cooked family/friends dinner at Wegmans. Needless to say I was very happy to see a store open up in Central MA. Closer and closer still...... Hoping for a Western MA location, but can't be too greedy. Hands down, Wegmans is the best supermarket chain I have been to. Less frozen and prepackaged than Trader Joe's, and a bit less earthy crunchy than a Whole Foods. Quality, dare I say even a tiny bit better than Whole Foods? Damn, it's close if not true. Variety - Wegmans wins again. The recently opened Northborough Massachusetts store has it all, and then some. Coffee shop, dining/restaurant counter, hot prepared foods to go, continually prepared sushi, bakery, fish monger, butchers, prepared uncooked foods to go, deli, a massive cheese shop, kitchenware, cookbooks, club-sized items, a florist, and one amazing beer/wine/liquor shop. I love to see items that I have never before seen, for example "Romanesco Broccoli" in the produce department. This stuff looked like a cross between broccoli, cauliflower, and a coral reef. The nice thing however, is that they also have the every day green bell pepper you need right beside it. Kudos to their website as well. Lists of weekly specials, suggestions, interesting shopping list creation application, cooking and entertaining videos, etc. Pretty slick for a supermarket. If you are like me and love to grocery shop (and explore), you will love this place. Plan to spend some time here, and enjoy. If you hate to shop, it's pretty easy to skip entire sections of the store, pick up your 2%, Wonder Bread and Skippy, and get back out quickly. Either way, I really don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

Wegmans - Grocery Near Me - Northborough, Massachusetts

I love this store with the exception of the prices. The items are more expensive than Stop & Shop and Price Choppers but if you want to feel like you are shopping in style this is the place for you. I like the selection of food items in the dining area and the variety of fresh and frozen meats in the store. If I want something different than the norm in the other stores I go to Wegmans or if I'm just in the area and need to pick up a few items. read more

Wegman's Northborough is one of the nicest grocery stores in the area. The hot food bars, bakery, seafood and meat areas offer a wide variety. Produce is also extensive and cheese section has many selections. Huge wine and liquor store. One area that could be better is ethnic section. Very little options in Mexican food section. Tortilla, enchilada sauce and other options are extremely limited. read more

I have heard the legend of Wegmans for many years, so when I heard they opened their first MA store, and I was passing through the area, I immediately planned a quick stop to check it out, even though I was not needing any groceries. The Market is famed and in person, it lived up to its reputation- many options and large table dining area. I also picked up an Ultimate Chocolate Cake, from my friend's recommendation...it was very rich and chocolately. If this cake is representative of the Wegmans bakery quality, than I would say all the baked goods would be worth checking out. I was also impressed by the large liquor and wine section, which was stocked at the time for New Years. The "regular" food seemed a little more expensive and didn't much differ in selection or options than a Stop & Shop or Shaws...if I wanted inexpensive options in a nice shopping environment, I would stick to one of the newer and larger Market Baskets, but if those aren't an option, Wegmans is a great alternative. I didn't not encounter the hordes of crowds, only b/c I came at 9pm on a weeknight. On top of a single lane access road and surrounded by box stores, I can see how getting in and out of this place could be a nightmare. Navigation in the store is not as bad as others had reviewed...dairy is at the back, deli, bakery/produce & prepared foods at the perimeter on the right, shelf-stable goods in the middle...pretty much the same as all supermarkets. read more

So I'm a Wegmans fanatic and was one of the millions of people who went on opening day. It's a 45 minute (each way) trek for me, but I'm THAT obsessed. However, as Wegmans works out the kinks of opening the 1st of hopefully many in MA, I have been less than 100% thrilled. I've gone 4 times since opening day and 2 of those have been very disappointing trips due to the store being out of a ton of stuff. The produce section has been poorly stocked and is also quite a bit smaller than the produce sections in some of the upstate NY stores. Also, the prepared food section looks bigger (and clearly therefore better) and more varied than upstate NY stores, but I've been less than impressed with the quality. I guess sometimes bigger isn't better after all. The liquor section is amazing - about the same size as the rest of the store! And the cashiers and baggers are AMAZING - they bag thoughtfully and are friendly too! I have faith these guys can figure it out and redeem themselves to me and since I'm a Wegamaniac at heart, I'll give 'em 4 stars and keep going back 'til it gets better :-) read more

Wegman's has finally landed in Massachusetts! And it makes grocery shopping a great adventure indeed! Get in the car and drive out Rt 9 until it hits Rt 20 and then you're there....Wegman's has a food court loaded with prepared foods, a huge section of baked goods and other desserts, cakes pies, cookies...a huge seafood section, meat dept. Wegman's reminds me a bit of a mashup between a Costco and Whole Foods...high quality interesting items and large bulk foods available at reasonable prices. It's easy to get lost in here and spend a lot of time wandering the aisles...the place is a zoo on the weekends...tons people everywhere filling their carts with stuff... read more

Not the same. Armed guards, most of meat and poultry gone. No service from butchers even though they are just standing around. No fresh fish except for pre-wrapped product. No Social distancing in the store after standing in line for 30 min to get in. Checkout takes 5-10 min per person. Go to Shaw's or other store. No lines better selection. Liquor prices no longer worth the visit. Rent a cop at front of store a jerk. State troopers add to tension. Never again( and I am a regular, or used to be). read more

My family comes from Rochester, so I'm very familiar with Wegmans. Growing up, we used to go to the one in Penfield, and even though I was too little to really understand the concept of greatness, even then I know that this was a special market. So now Wegmans has come to MA, and I couldn't be happier. But the truth is, some market have caught up to Wegmans a bit, so it isn't quite as unique as it was when I went to the ones in Rochester years ago. The cheese, meat, bread, and pastry sections are outstanding, and the food court is something special, but once you get to the isles with canned goods, milk, etc., it's really just another market (though to be honest, I'm not sure you'd expect anything else when it comes to getting the everyday supplies). I would definitely put Wegmans up there among the best market within an hour of Boston, though until they get closer to the city, I'll continue to go to Whole Foods and Roche Bros. read more

A great supermarket and a very good food court. The supermarket has a great variety of hard to find items and their meat and fish is excellent. Thay have a well stocked cheese island with a very helpful affineur to assist with your selections. The bakery is also top notch. The food court has a large variety of items of a better quality than you would typically find in any chinese buffet or mall food court. They have separate islands for Indian, Asian, vegetarian food. Not a fine dining experience but definetly worht a stop for lunch. I am definetly looking forward to the opening of the new store in Burlington. read more

The quality is generally poor and soon to expire. The good news is that they're often out of stock. Wegman's ability to supply a store so far from upstate Nee York seems to be too limited. Two thumbs up for the wine and beer huge selection. Wegmans is a feel good kind of store. You can't beat the vibe that I get when I come to shop here. The aroma of the bakery makes you feel like you are strolling fresh market in Paris. Wegmans people: I need chocolate fountain to fill the air too. May be they can fill the store with aroma of foods based on time of the day. BBQ during lunch hour rush. Buttery croissant and cake bake in the morning. Grilled chicken for dinner. Make us feel hungry! The sushi stand is pretty good but still can't beat the one in Hannaford on prices and value. Believe me I am sushi stand addict. How to shop at Wegmans? Buy their store brand. They know how to source good quality products. Their Wegman brand products are great prices and value compared to other supermarket house brands. I love the Wegman rum raisin ice cream. read more

Wow and wow. This has to be one of my favorite places to go. The only problem is you plan on spending forty five minutes to and hour here.. The catch, IT'S A BLACK HOLE! Between grabbing a bite of sushi (super fresh and can customize it) or your favorite per pound dishes(vegetarian and other), browsing the food selection, going to the liquor section (fair pricing) and trying samples you leave approximately four hours later! That being said, the selection is plentiful. The staff is wonderful/helpful/other synonyms of kind words. The organization is decent enough that I can find usually anything I am looking for. You can find pretty much anything your heart desires. Even truffle mushrooms at $999.99 a pound =] Though at times it can be overwhelming not only with the selection but at times a huge crowd trying to get their weekly grocery needs. But, if this is the case you can always take a shopping break and head to one of the other things to do in the plaza. Great Great great! read more

Wegmans, I wish you were closer to Boston so I wouldn't only be able to go to you when I'm visiting my girlfriend's parents! The prepared foods section is so great! They've got such an amazing variety of food and drink. Haven't bought something from their bakery yet, but it always look so great. Right across from the bakery, you can find housemade cream cheeses which are so good (try the chive!). Their meat and cheese selection is also noteworthy. Saying I am a fan of this place hardly captures my true emotions for Wegmans. It may seen ridiculous to say that about a Market, but - - Let me put it this way: I have 3 markets closer to my house than Wegmans, and I rarely shop at any of them anymore. I love the layout, I love the staff, I love the food selections. I have had more positive interactions with the staff at Wegmans in the year+ it has been open in my area than I did shopping at the market 1.5 miles from my house for the previous 8! So, why not 5 stars? I think they really need to review their lettuce transportation and storage system. The only thing I don't buy at Wegmans is their lettuce/salad mixes/leafy greens. I find they are often soft, brown, wilted, or not as fresh as they should be. I don't know why this is the case, and I sincerely hope they are working to resolve it. When they do, it'll be a 5 star place. read more
