This is my grandmothers favorite supermarket. Everytime I come back to Mass she makes me name a special trip out here even though there are much closer supermarkets near her. This is located in a large plaza and parking can be a premium. We try to go during a weekday early so we can get good parking up front. The aisles are wide and inviting so you can move your cart around. I love the fresh cuts of meat and the bakery and deli section can't be beat. I wish they had places like this in Cali. Love the hot sandwiches to go!! The registers seem to move rather quickly even though not many may be open at a time. The cleanliness is a plus as well. My coworker found this grocery store on a prior trip to our Marlborough office. He took us there for lunch on a recent trip. I am thoroughly glad he did. The store has a large hot bar and premade dinning options. Their pizza looks amazing and the food in the hot bars looked great. I will be trying both the next trip to that center. I got an Italian footlong sub the one day and the cheese steak footlong the other. They both were made fresh and tasted excellent! The best part, they were under $6! These subs would have been $10 or more back home. And they did not skimp on them at all. The store itself was very clean and what prices I saw of food items outside the prepared food area were average. The employees were mostly kind. One asked me if I was "slow" because I ordered different subs for coworkers and they kept asking about different ones and I had to remember what each person ordered. I just laughed and played off the rude comment and they lightened up through the rest of the order. Overall, this was an amazingly affordable and delicious lunch stop. With the variety of options and price, I could visit multiple days and never get tired of my choices. I highly recommend you stop by. read more

This Market Basket has a lot of food choices which is nice. My experience here could be better. There was no Irish soda bread today. I am fine with that no big deal. When I asked the lady at the cooking counter she said look at the place where you see breads. Obviously it would have been with the breads but I wanted to know specific location. What she should have said, I am not sure exactly where it is but you could go to the bakery and ask there. Then I went I into ice cream aisle and had difficulty finding the sherbert. There were two store workers chatting with each other and having a conversation. I am sorry I don't know. What they should have said is I am not sure or I don't know and then refer me to the department manager. I worked at Market basket in another town. Used to be good, but they leave moldy and rancid food on the shelves now. I just had to throw out some steaks, a pound of ground beef, and a pack of cabot shredded cheese because they were all rancid and/or moldy. I just purchased them all three days ago. This is completely unacceptable with the cost of groceries now. That's well over $20 down the toilet. I'm switching to Hannaford for the foreseeable future. read more

This store just opened last weekend. Market Basket is a really great option for shopping in this area! This is not a fancy store but if you are looking for everyday value on great food than this is your place to go. No need to stop for a coffee on the way - they have a place right up front with lots of different beverage choices including fresh squeezed OJ. The newer MBs like this one offer a great selection of groceries and also a good selection of prepared foods. They have a section to get fresh cooked foods like chicken wings and sides for dinner. Also in this section you can get fresh made salads, subs and pizza. Their pizza and wing deals are unbeatable. The buffalo chicken wings are large, meaty and flavorful. They also have a cased meat section where you can get higher grade meats and cut how you want them. The staff here were beyond helpful and friendly. Unlike other market baskets the staff here wanted to help you find things and made a point to have conversations with customers! The carriage boy even came to my car to ask if he could help load my groceries and then took my cart - wow you usually only see that at a more upscale store. Let me say it again - this is not a fancy place - don't come here thinking it is Whole Foods or any of those others - this store works because you can get great everyday prices and good deals. read more

Amazing prices and reduced produce section in still awesome shape for a fraction of the price. Everytime I shop elsewhere I break the piggybank but here I can fill my entire cart and only pay what would cost the same if I got a bag or two elsewhere! Only ever had an issue with the seafood but their produce, meat and other parishables are top notch quality. I wish they had a store right in my town but its only a town over and worth the wait or trip out. Only thing I wish they carried was the low sodium tuna and Sugar free Reese's which is still super new so I expect to never find it places. This shopping center is a convoluted mess. Buildings everywhere. Roads everywhere. Rotaries every where. So your first struggle is just finding the place. Seriously- I had to rely on Waze to get me through the parking lot. The inside of the store was a convoluted mess as well. I couldn't find a thing. I couldn't figure out the prices of half the items and couldn't find a price check scanner. The cashier found it necessary to comment on the amount of candy I was buying. Why is it her business what I buy? Does she question people as to why they buy so much toilet paper and what do they do with it? The bathrooms were a disgusting mess. At 10 AM. I stopped in here on my way home from Maine and I LOVED this market! Wished I was closer! The variety was wonderful and everything looked so fresh. I stopped in for bananas and grabbed a few other things along the way. The bakery had the most amazing selection of cakes and cookies and a lot of it looked freshly made. We picked up a couple of whoopie pies and the most amazing toffee, oatmeal, chocolate cookies. I really want to go back just for that! LOL. The produce selection was really nice and so fresh. This weekend we stopped at this Market Basket location both on the way to the Cape as well as on the way back. This was the first time stopping at this location and it actually is now one of our favorites. The store itself is smaller than others we have been to, but they had a huge selection of items and overall the store was well stocked. The store was very clean and the staff here was incredible. Our favorite part of this store had to be the fact that it had a huge selection of Portuguese merchandise including a few different types of cheese. This was great because we hadn't seen these products in a long time and we were happy to buy them. In the end, the store was great, but the staff is what sold us on this location. The staff stocking the shelves were knowledgeable and our cashier was polite and quick. read more

This is my new market basket since my move. It's close to work so easy to go to right after. The layout is like my old store which makes finding everything super easy. Employees are friendly and it's not overly crowded (comparison to Somerville location). One recommendation is to order more halal oasis brand chicken breasts. They are usually out when I get there and I'm left between dark meat option, which I don't eat. :( read more

Great prices, big clean organized store. They have free wifi in the cafe which helps if you need to find an ingredient or on line sale item. Market Basket of Hudson... this review will do absolutely nothing to sway you one way or another to go there. I have had the absolute worst experiences and best experiences here. You will meet some of the most terrible people in the world, and some of the best people in the world. You will have some of the most slow, disgusting speaking cashiers in the world, and you will have some of the most perfect, fast employees who can scan items into the register with just their twinkling brown eyes. On the weekends, always a majestic, beautiful, dumpster fire of an adventure. Are you crying tears of joy or pain by the end? Did you get trampled by an 'ol blue hair? Or were you hit on by a young mom in mesh cut out yoga pants? A good summary of this Market Basket would be the orange squeezing machine at the cafe which makes fresh orange juice. Now these oranges are not rinsed off, and they are green, but out comes that delicious juice. Like the broken burnt wings of a phoenix, a magnificent, glorious creature can sprout forth. This is a great store. It isn't a newer shopping plaza next to Lowes and across from BJ's. Because it is a new store it is still gaining popularity not as crowded as most Market Baskets. I go to market baskets all over New England and I have never been treated as rude as I did tonight. An older woman with glasses at the register told me I shouldn't be in that line because I had more than 20 items. 10 were gallons of water and 12 were the same can of cat food and 5 other items. I have been a Market Basket fan for decades - first in Somerville, then in Leominster and Fitchburg, so I was excited that Market Basket opened a store close to where I live now. The store has many good points - it's clean, with a good selection, excellent pricing and offers addictively tasty fresh squeezed OJ and really good pizza cheap. But today I had an experience that makes me doubt I'll ever go back, at least to this location. They have creepy over zealous loss prevention goons, just waiting for a chance to strut their stuff. I shop several times weekly, and generally pay by check. Apparently a couple of weeks ago, when I paid by check, the cashier handed the check back to me with the receipt. I did not notice and likely threw it away with the receipt. Through their system they identified me, and attempted to call me, but it was an old number. The address on file was current, but no attempt was made to contact me by mail or contact my bank. Instead, their gung-ho fresh out of high school loss prevention/security guard waited for my return to the store. As I learned later, he had studied the surveillance footage of the transaction, so he knew exactly what I looked like. He said he saw me as soon as I entered the store, and watched me as I shopped. I didn't have a clue that anything was up, I just pushed my cart around, completely unaware I was under surveillance. When I got to the register, my payment couldn't be processed and I was directed to the service desk. After a minute or two, the security dude came over, all smiley and how are you doing, calling me by name and asked if I had their check for them. I told him I didn't know what he was talking about. He said, "Come on, you don't have it? The cashier gave you back the check and you walked out with it. You owe us $55, you know that.". At this point I did not doubt that they had lost the check, and indeed probably given it back to me, but I was pissed off by his attitude that I was a scammer. That's a disrespectful and unprofessional way to deal with a situation resulting from store error. How did I know the check hadn't been processed and exactly how much it was for? He showed me no documentation and didn't even give me a date! I asked for a copy of the transaction and had to wait more than 10 minutes before he produced it. In the meantime I asked to speak with the manager. The manager apologized and admitted they could have sent me a letter, instead of wasting my time with in store dramatics. But he seemed more concerned about the feelings of the cashier, who he said was now ineligible for a raise this quarter. Damn straight! Anyway, I wrote the replacement check - there is no problem with that, if money is owed. But I resent being profiled as a dead beat, put under surveillance while I shop and my time being wasted in a cat and mouse game. The problem should have been handled by the store manager, properly documented and it should have been presented as the store's mistake, not my fault. It's bad business to blame employee error on the customer. read more

While I'm a huge Stop&Shop fan I'm always interested in saving, and would visit Market Basket far more often if it was closer to my house. This location sits in the Highland Commons on the Hudson / Berlin town line next to Lowe's. While it may be one of the newer Market Basket locations in the area, it isn't too clean and wasn't too impressive given that it had great reviews on here. This location is extremely busy constantly, and while it is large and has a lot of space, it doesn't seem to be stocked completely. Many products are out of stock, or not carried (that I always get at Stop&Shop) and the deli had way too long of a line for me to waste my time with. In one aisle, a roll of paper towels was open and sopping on the iced tea shelf... gross! Employees at the cash registers are all right, but the ones in the aisles REALLY got on my nerves. Sure it's a Monday, but this store is always busy in the day time! So many employees in the way, and stocking certain products with those big pallets of boxes of stuff, blocking aisles and causing carriage accidents. Prices are obviously very good, it's Market Basket people, but I'd rather shop somewhere more quiet, calm, and with a better variety. Parking is ample right outside and they are open M-Sa 9-9, and Sun 9-7. Normally I like Market Basket, but the Hudson location is only worth 2 stars. read more

This is really a great store. The prices are incredibly low compared to S&S. The place is always busy, and they need to open more checkout lines. This is really bothering me; all retailers do this these days to cut costs. In high school I worked at S&S and we had almost all lines open all the time. Be prepared to wait. Me and my wife used to go to the Ashland market basket and it was brutal in terms of being a little cramped, but fuck it, more for your dollar right? hell yeah! So we bought a house in Bolton and we were happy a new market basket was within 10mins of it, perhaps was even on our Pros list, who am I do divulge that info? Either way this Basket is new, clean, well-stocked, and the market kitchen is off the chain. If my wife didn't have food-sensitivities I assume we would buy a pizza from here every night for dinner, as it is I try to buy a slice when I can, which is really 2-slices for under 3 bucks. The food from the kitchen is always good for the price. There is an increasingly large selection of organic vegetables and fruits, although this can be hit or miss, and great grass fed beef options. Shout out to George in the fish department who remembered my daughters name after 1 meeting, but always gives the best service with the friendliest smile. Artie for Life!!! This is hands down one of the greatest grocery stores I've ever been to, the only downfall about this place is it's always packed, but I don't blame them. The store has cafes and other places where you can get food, sit down and enjoy yourself. Not just that but they have some of the lowest prices, and greatest deals I've seen as opposed to other competing grocery stores. The staff is all young, but they're very educated in their craft, and are very appreciative and friendly. If only the store was closer then I would shop and visit there every single day. The only other store I could compare this to is BJ's, which as a matter of fact is in the same vicinity as the Market Basket. I say this because they have the cafes, free samples, low prices, it has everything a BJ's does, minus the fact BJ's a retail warehouse store with more than groceries. Why do I have to consistently tell your baggers to put my cold/frozen items in the insulated bags??? I always have at least 2 of your insulated tote style bags plus several regular bags. I even set them up for success by putting my insulated bags on the belt first followed by my cold/frozen foods then I put the regular bags on the belt followed by my non refrigerated items and I still have to stop you baggers from putting my cold items in the regular bags!!! This is not a difficult concept! ALSO why am I always finding cleaning products in with other items including produce. I think there needs to be some retraining of your front end staff. read more

This is a great, great store. The selection of food is amazing. Lots of options and variety. I don't think I have ever gone there and not found what I needed. It is exceptionally clean, neat, and well stocked. The prices are fabulous - especially considering the quality of things like meat, vegetables, and fruit. I also think the employees are terrific. They are very polite and cheerful. Whether they are working in the aisles, ringing at the cash register, bagging groceries, or in the parking lot gathering carts they always greet you and tell you to have a nice day. I think a lot of it has to do with the store running fully staffed; employees aren't stressed and rushed and can actually spend quality time with the customers. They also print on both sides of the grocery receipt. A little thing, but it is greatly appreciated. I enjoy going to this store and leave feeling like I had a nice shopping experience. I don't know what is good about this business. This store is managed on a shoestring budget which means that the problems exist get way out of hand during late afternoon hours on Sunday til they close at 7 pm because they refuse to make deliveries from their warehouse to their stores (looks like they are trying to minimize the amount of time and a half they pay to their workers). The shelves are beyond disorganized and when you try to point out a pricing error, they refuse to fix it. My overall bill ends up being higher here than other grocers as someone who buys high quality food and shops sales. While regular prices may be slightly lower, the sale prices are much higher than Shaw's and Stop & Shop, and then pretty much Wegmans regular prices are nearly across the board lower than Market Basket sale prices. read more

Market Basket is everyone's all time favorite grocery store. The employees are very helpful and friendly. They offer a huge variety of every household needs from outdoor plants, groceries, pizza shop, coffee and desserts, toiletries and deli meats that are delicious. I can go in with a few items in mind and leave with an overflowing cart. Their homemade meals are a lifesaver when you need something quick and tasty. Sometimes the amount of shoppers can be a test but we're all there for the same purpose. I prefer mornings when it's not quite as busy. Unfortunate bad experience. I've been going to this Market Basket since it opened and have come across a bad experience until this past Saturday (June 8th). When I made it to the check out, there was a cashier named Edgar. While he was scanning my items and placing them in the the bagging area, instead of waiting for the bagger to get caught up, or at least help bag, he proceeded to pile my food on top of each other and everything started to get crushed. I said "stop, you're crushing my food"! Both Edgar and the bagger proceeded to laugh. I said "It's not funny" and proceeded to ask for a manager. Edgars specific words to me were "I don't have time for this". I was speechless. Then both him and the bagger told me there are no managers there. Then when he was done scanning, he yelled over to a man and then proceeded to tell this man I wanted a manager to explain how I was treated. I explained the the manager what happened, then left. I left there in shock thinking if this young man working in the field of Customer Service can treat a customer the way he did, I can imagine how he treats his family.
