This review is just for the bakery (even though Wegmans generally is pretty awesome)! I had a Mexican fiesta themed bridal shower and really wanted a tres leches cake. That's not really an ordinary request, I guess, because it was exceedingly difficult to find a large tres leches cake from a bakery in the area. A few other (authentic) places that said they could make it would have done so essentially in an aluminum pan with no decoration. And while I'm sure it would have been tasty, it wouldn't have looked particularly nice. Wegmans was able to make a large sheet tres leches cake, and make it look quite beautiful! Everyone was talking about how good the cake was - it was light and sweet. People who didn't even know what tres leches was were talking about it! Our wedding cake has big shoes to fill.... read more

Wegman's giveth and Wegman's taketh away! Ah, Wegman's... So many things can be said about you. I walk into you, entering your grounds... I stare in awe at the produce department, so neatly arranged and full of colorful fruits and vegetables, many of which are organic. I feel the mist of the sprayer nozzles on the broccoli - it is like the breath of a lover in the midst of love-making! I walk to... No, wait, I don't walk beyond this area because on any given day, there are large groups of local yuppies congregating in the middle of the effing floor, having group conversations while being totally oblivious to the world around them - a world where other people (those that they have clearly deemed less-important) have to shop. And when they're not congregating in large groups, they'll simply stop abruptly, side-by-side sometimes, again oblivious to the world around them. I mean, I know this store is magical and all, but I never really get lost in another world like they do. Pro-tip: Don't come here with a child as they are likely to be run over by a soccer mom racing to the milk cooler and jumping in front of you, cart and all... Milk is serious business! This place gets a five because it's amazing... But if I was rating it on atmosphere, it'd get a -5 thanks to the rude customers that have a habit of shopping here. read more

Wegmans - Grocery Near Me - Hunt Valley, Maryland

Wegman's is amazing!! Definitely over the top in grocery stores! My parents have a place right up the street from this store so this is their normal store. How lucky they are!! Tons of greeting cards, amazing cheese section, mouth-watering prepared foods section, expanded sushi area with killer prices, tasty baked goods, natural foods, international foods, it's all here! My only complaint is the parking, hence minus one star... I mean, really, do all these people really live in Hunt Valley? Or does everyone in the Baltimore metro area come here to shop? Wednesday afternoon at 1 the place is packed!! read more

We moved to the MD area almost 9 yrs ago now. When we first began shopping at Wegman's, we loved it. The selection, cleanliness, and staff were amazing. We enjoyed bringing our house guests to Wegman's to shop, grab lunch or dinner while we would sit at the tables above the store. We're not sure what happened at Wegman's, but it's NOT the same. The produce area and choices are terrible. The pastries are open to the public vs. staff helping you choose your pastries. It's also kid level ~ which is nasty. Kids crawl on the ground, wipe their noises and then touch the pastry. No thank you, we'll pass! The breads are the same way. No thank you! The choices of vegetables, pastries, breads, cheeses, etc. have continued to go down. There isn't anything "special" about Wegman's anymore. It's just like any other grocery store. They use to have a beautiful flower section with gifts, etc. Now? I wouldn't even think about buying flowers here. There use to be an International area that was wonderful. Lots of choices. Now? International foods have been incorporated into the other rows of food and is very difficult to find what you're looking for. The stores cleanliness has declined. The staff are not as helpful or friendly. The cheese department ~ is more to be desired and it's sad because it was amazing. Wegman's, PLEASE bring your store back to the high class standard it was! read more

This review is focused on the on line grocery shopping with curbside pickup. Overall, this store has the most user friendly curb-side pick up I have found in the Timonium to Hunt Valley corridor. I have only used the process once and there may be answers to some of my questions if I waited to review after a second run but hey... in I go but with that caveat - I had a list and I had no difficulty selecting my items. There appeared to be some home sanitizer products so to my delight I selected two of a few sprays and wipes. Next, I spent a fair amount of time with the deli order but it seemed to not sync to my other cart - I don't know what the snag was but I thought I had included in my cart. I gave my cell # so the shopper could text me questions or alert me if a substitute was used - I had clicked on the button to allow the shopper to make substitutions as needed. While she was shopping I got a bunch of alerts mostly about substitutions - all of which was fine by me - but nothing in the way of cleaners or from the deli. When you pick up It clearly isn't the place to review your stuff. I was not charged for items not in the bags but I didn't see a notice that the sanitizers were sold out at this location or that the deli would not be included for curbside pickup. Comments welcome and I will revisit after I use the service a second time. Overall the best online ordering and curbside pickup program I've discovered - be safe everyone. Bake some cookies! UPDATE AUG 13th- when the shopper is getting your groceries he or she will text you suggested replacements if you select an item not in stock. It's a good idea to keep an eye on your texts after you receive a text the shopper has started. I don't inspect my receipts for changes but I've spot checked and found no errors. It's such a great service I do my best to tip $20 to support this level of service. I go there myself plenty but on occasion it's just simpler - most recently I placed a big order after I returned home from a road trip to see family. I greatly appreciate this great service. read more

Very disorganized and some very rude employees who don't try to help anyone instead behave like they are doing you a favor.

I dont usually have a problem with Wegmans, but this bag of salad has an expiration date of June 26 and it's all black slimy and wilted. I haven't even opened it yet. I also bought a bag of spinach (not pictured) with the same exp date and it was starting to get slimy. Not sure what happened.... read more

This Wegman's is pretty awesome. I've only been to three Wegman's locations (which probably doesn't say much), and this is by the far the best and greatest. 1) This place is HUUUUGE 2) TONS of grocery selections, reasonably prices, and extremely fresh 3) Lots of check out lines and cashiers 4) Food by the pound here is ridiculously amazing; all different kinds of cuisines (Asian, Indian, Italian, you name it) and all are cooked/prepared very well 5) Fresh paninis, subs, and pizza to order as well 6) Helpful staff There is nothing to dislike about this Wegman's joint. I was in the area and decided to stop pass here to pick up some dinner for one of my favorite shows Power. I wasn't sure what I wanted so I walked around for a bit. I was looking for a burger called the impossible burger but I couldn't find it, I asked an employee there, she didn't know if they carried this particular brand, nor did she bother to ask anyone. I ended up asking someone at the deli, he appeared to be a little busy but he stopped what he was doing and walked me over to the burger section. He said he wasn't familiar with the brand but he did recommend the southwest veggie burger which he said they make fresh daily along with salmon and turkey burgers. He said all of their burgers are amazing! He was so passionate about the burgers as well as working for Wegmans. I wish I could remember his name but he was very genuine and friendly. It doesn't stop there, when I went to check out the young lady asked if I had the Wegmans app so I could receive a coupon for my burgers. She told me to download the app, she advised me she would so I could receive the discount! She was very helpful. I was so impressed by her friendly demeanor and her eagerness to help! If you are into tea like I am, their selection is amazing! I love kombucha and green tea. This location carries a concentrated shot of iced matcha tea unsweetened and their varieties and flavors of kombucha is impressive! Just an FYI I came there later in the evening and I received top notch customer service! The employees here go above and beyond to help. read more

I have been coming here since this place opened, and we were so excited for the first Wegman's in the area. If you have a choice, go to the Columbia location ("one of the five flagship stores"). I've been to IDK how many Wegman's stores, and the people are generally very friendly at Wegman's, but some of the emps at HV are just plain rude. Other reviews here agree. There are the angry bathroom cleaner, cashiers, sandwich maker and barista who act like doing their job is a big favor (I witnessed the self-checkout people make some poor older man with a cane actually walk back to the sandwich counter, bec. his sandwich had the wrong price on it), and the emps who trample you for their morning coffee (terrible layout and potentially unsafe). One old guy jerk customer walked on me to push me out of the way at the register, bec. I apparently was in his way. They had to bring me a bigger cart (I had filled up a smaller cart, and the cashier could not fit the food back in after it was bagged. The baggers, who receive zero training these days, actually loaded the big cart inproperly). I've been lied to about the moldy produce they keep selling (this started w covid and has not changed). That's it for now. Lol What happened to the comment boxes they usef to have? read more

I don't drink the Kool-Aid about Wegmans at home in PA and I sure as hell am not drinking it about this one in Hunt Valley. I mean don't get me wrong it does have the typical Wegmans attributes going for it in that there are the usual Stepfordishly happy employees (something is definitely in the company's water) and the stores are always megaplex large. But...with that comes problems like too much reliance on Wegmans brand products all over the store, no gas points/rewards and the big issue (bum, bum, bum) is simply that the prices on most items blow! Sure I bought things like Suave shampoo at .99 cents a bottle or the on sale Vitamin Water but then (as an example) their containers of Turkey Hill Ice Cream were at the "everyday low price" of $3.00. WTF? The Wegmans in PA don't charge that and if you pay it you're an idiot. Overall the place is a giant joke. The store is indeed cleaner than most but the premade section pricing is outrageous and while the "deals" can sometimes be alright for the most part you're getting ripped off compared to shopping at a place like Giant. read more

Best company to work for! For a grocery store, this place literally stocks everything! I used to come here as a kid and I loved the train on the ceiling and now all these years later, I see it on a regular basis as an employee. I am so glad I get to be in this environment all the time! read more

My boyfriend has been talking about this store since I met him and needless to say, I thought I was going to be let down with my first visit today. Was I? Nope! This place is pretty awesome. Their meat and seafood selection is out of this world and they have a giant area dedicated to cheese. CHEESE. Who doesn't love cheese? That part was great. They even had a giant sign for asian vegetables, so naturally that called out to me with wonton wrappers and bok choy (my favorite!). On top of all that, they had all your basic household necessities. So a marketplace, deli, grocery store, bakery, household items can all be found in one very clean and organized location! Great! Two drawbacks: 1) the shopping center is very busy!!! 2) I spoke with two employees. One was very nice and the other was curt and slightly rude. Makes me wonder a bit about their customer service.... read more

Truly the best supermarket in the U.S. I wished they were in Florida because Publix has gone down hill. When I'm in Hunt Valley and stay in an area hotel I get my meals at Wegman's. Take it back to the room with a glass of wine and I'm all set. Today it was Asian though my dish was probably an Indian curry. But you better be quick. When I hesitated yesterday I saw a fellow step up and empty the entire container. I try to bypass the desserts but pumpkin anything is awesome. Yesterday it was pumpkin moon pies filled with cream cheese frosting. Don't judge me!!!! It was worth it. See you next time Wegman's! read more

I have tried to like Wegmans, I just can't. I only go there for their marinades which are really good. It is just way too big and way too slow. Sunday before lunch is the equivalent of the Great Depression soup lines. I have started shopping at Eddie's on Charles Street. Eddie's is a premium (and a steep one at that) but the quality of the meat is night and day. I have done side by side comparison of rack of lamb from each as well as Salmon. Eddie's wins every time. There are certain things I still get at Wegmans, but it will never be my primary shopping location. read more

I'm getting annoyed with Wegmans. This store is beautiful and most of the staff are very friendly. Prices are spectacular. Milk is $1.79/gallon! My annoyance, however, is being caused by a lack of variety. About a year ago I noticed that the number of name brands was decreasing. They were being replaced by Wegmans branded products. Those products are usually very good but sometimes I want to stick with the branded product. Land O Lakes spreadable butter is one. They do still carry it, but only the small size, and it is frequently out of stock. The Wegmans variety is not good. It has a mushy, almost mayonnaise consistency. But they stock small and large sizes and it's always stocked to overflowing. Last night I made a special visit to this Wegmans to buy Morton's Iodinized Salt (it was good enough for my Mom and grand-mom's. I'm not switching) They were out of stock! I think it's the first time in my life I've ever seen that. Salt is cheap and never expires. They should never be out of stock. You're getting greedy Wegmans. Pull back and allow some variety. You're good, but not irreplaceable. Don't make me buy your milk and force me to leave to shop at Safeway. read more

I always depend on Wegman's product quality but was disappointed when I purchased 2 packages of crab balls for a family party. My son followed the cooking instructions but they were mushy and greasy. We cooked them a little longer to get a bit crisper but all family members (8 of us) agreed they were a disappointment. I know crab meat is expensive but there was too much filler and not enough crab. Not up to your standards but won't give up on my favorite store. read more

I had no idea walking into this establishment early on a Saturday morning that I was entering a Wegmans.....You see we were attending the Horsepower car show in the adjacent lot and in need of coffee. Seeing a "café" sign on the side of the building, and it being the only place open we went inside. Imagine our surprise when we discovered we were in a grocery store, the notorious Wegman's no less! In our area Wegman's is an urban legend of sorts as there isn't any near. I've heard people talk about, as well as heard the speculation that one is coming to my area. I've never heard such excitement when talking about a grocery store so I knew this place was something special. Now that we've been there I get it. Overwhelmed by the selection is more like it. While we visited early in the morning before the hot buffet bars were filled I must say the sheer number and selection (according to the signage) was impressive. As were the other numerous prepared and prepackage food items that surrounded that section. While I found the pricing to be much higher than food prepared at my local grocery store - the selection and quality was far better. I was especially pleased by the large selection of specialty prepared ethnic foods. Even with the higher prices one could easily take home a dinner or two - restaurant quality no less - and dine at home for a fraction of the price of dining out. While I didn't explore the grocery store other than a quick walk around produce (equally impressed) I can only image that they offer everything needed to make a Food Network worthy home cooked meal. Not so impressed was I with the coffee station though. It's located on the right of the front entrance to the store and there were no right or wrong way to the line. People were entering from both the right and the left. While there were plenty of seating upstairs there were only two occupied tables immediately at the coffee café. Hubby got a 12 oz coffee for $1.75 ( alittle on the pricy side) and a premade breakfast sandwich (about as good as one from Wawa). Neither were exceptional. My hot coco however was not up to par and flavorless. It was no different than drinking hot unflavored milk and not something I would order there again. Overall worth a second visit while in the area, after11 am so we could indulge in the self serve food buffet and definitely a store I hope comes to my area. read more

Wegmans: A Gentrified Walmart While I shop here intermittently I never understood the "best thing since sliced bread" pedestal some reserve for Wegmans. Last week after yoga I mentioned to friend that I was stopping by Wegmans to pick up some odds and ends and the person next to her, a stranger, gave me a look of wonder as if I had just produced a magical talking kitten from my mat-bag and exclaimed, "OMG, you are going to Wegmans? That place is awesome!" Wegmans has a wide selection, items are often stocked, it is usually clean, and the employees are generally competent (though rarely enthusiastic or proficient in their department). It is nevertheless a jack-of-all-trades, master of none big-box with an illusory artisanal charm. Get your fresh baked ciabatta and organic produce in one section, buy hazardous chemical based cleaning products and Fruity Pebbles in another. Some things they do well: - A large selection of pre-prepared foods and hot/cold/salad bars by the pound - Rotate in some seasonal fruits (Sumo Oranges for example) and local produce - Family Sized options for those who want buy in bulk without having to purchase cinnamon by the kilogram Unfortunately their produce section is an inconsistent mélange. Some days you find vibrant leafy greens next to withered stems or grapes so desiccated they are well on their road to becoming raisins. Other visits they are fully stocked or may be completely sold out of several vegetables, so if you need something specific I urge you to call ahead. read more

Overrated. SO overrated. Even Whole Paycheck is better than this! Trader Joe's covers most of the things here for less money, your local farmers' market can provide cheaper and better Maryland corn, apples, tomatoes, asparagus, strawberries, etc., and Superfresh is more than sufficient at the lower to mid-range end of things. This is a Safeway on steroids, really. A Wal-Mart for wanna-be foodies who learn about fine dining from Paula Deen or Sandra Lee on the Food Network. It so desperately wants to be a Whole Foods. Maybe the first few Wegmans were good, but this one was over hyped when it grand opened and did not impress us when we explicitly made a pilgrimage here to check it out. There are better choices in the city, I promise! read more

I was not sure about moving to this area until I walked into Wegmans. What a wonderful place to spend a ton of cash! There are so many amazing cheeses to choose from - I even found some Italian cheeses I've never been able to get in the states. The deli is so great - my husband's from Berlin, and loves his sausage (that sounds terrible - but really, he does!!) He was so excited about the amazing selection that our purchase didn't even make it home - he was munching on cold sausage as we left the parking lot. The fresh fish, meat and pre-made sections are the size of a safeway. There were so many great choices that I just stood there, clapping while I walked from display to display, as if the food were performing for me. And for the grand finale, check out the produce section - wowwy wow wow! It is pricey, but the quality makes the prices semi-ok. If you have not been to this store, do check it out! Give yourself extra time so you can browse every nook and cranny. AND avoid it on the weekends - super super psychotically busy on weekends. read more

What's not to love about Wegmans? It's like a supermarket junkies dream come true. It's the size of a football field with every grocery category you can imagine but supersized. It's great for everyday shopping and when you need something specific for a special dish. In addition to the standard offerings, they have a huge organic produce selection, packaged meats, seafood, cheese case, bakery with artisan breads and desserts! If you are in the mood to just graze through the prepared foods section, you'll find sandwiches, soups, salads, sushi plus a selection of hot and cold buffet style bars. It's a great place to pick up lunch or dinner. They have seating on the main and 2nd level if you choose to eat your goodies on site. Weekends are packed and feel like the NJ Turnpike during rush hour. If you come during off hours, you'll beat the traffic jams in the store. read more

Let me tell you. For some reason I love going to supermarkets when I'm in another part of the country. My previous fav was Publix in FL cause of the wall to wall Dolphins swag everywhere. But Wegman's is a beast. It's huge. It's crowded. But man does it have everything. The prices are not as bad as you think upon first walking in. It's like a Trader Joe's on one side and a Ralph's on the other. The foodies can mingle with Hamburger Helper's. It's harmony and a model for peace. Well...more like a one stop shop. We made an epic dinner. read more

Wegmans is a place we go instead of Whole Foods (which we avoid for ethical reasons), and because its stock is vast and plentiful, we also usually shop there for pharmacy and housewares too. We buy stuff in bulk from the treehugger aisles. We buy things from their olive bar, we buy cheese, fish, deli counter stuff, produce, baking goods, pharmacy, frozen. There's good stuff in each aisle, it's fresh, the stock is well cared for and plentiful. We also sometimes make it a date and buy/eat a meal in their food court area on the east side of the store. I think my greatest criticism of them really is their demographic and their crowdedness. It's very successful and it has loads of customers and those customers are often so overstimulated that they're totally checked out and forget their manners. I've been run into with shopping carts, had folks speak to me rudely for various imagined infractions, had folks be rude in the food court, had extremely entitled folks let their kids loose on the unsuspecting public while they cannot be bothered to get off their cell phones. Also, I always see so much discarded trash in the aisles. Again, it's obviously the customer's fault who leaves her or his empty coffee cup on the shelves for another customer to find. But it would be great if I didn't have to be reminded that some of the folks I'm sharing the store with are really messy and rude, and it makes me wonder whether the olive bar is really hygenic, or are the same people who leave their trash around keeping their fingers out of the various self-serve prepared food areas? I think Wegmans deals with these problems moderately well but it would be great if they could figure out better coping mechanisms and help their customers do the same. Since I know this part of my feedback is a pet peeve and it probably isn't as bad as I can imagine, I'm giving Wegmans four stars. read more

So overwhelming. So many choices. This place gives me anxiety. I love how cute Wegman's is but I just can't get down with it. Or their prices. Just not loving this place, too much going on. I mean they have a WHOLE entire aisle just for ice cream, not a half one like in the regular grocery store but a WHOLE aisle. Plus I feel like everybody in there is in a rush and it scares me. I feel helpless and I don't know if it's the dark lighting but it definitely feels claustrophobic. Cafe wise I've never had anything worth going back for. The chinese food... pass. The soups... not a fan. I want to love this place. I've been told that you have to try everything 3 times and this place gets the ax. read more

I grew up in Upstate NY and moved to the south for grad school where there was no Wegmans, so I always joke and tell people that Wegmans is my mecca. I was actually driving down to Baltimore one day and needed to stop to use a restroom. I saw a sign for a McDonald's and got off the exit. I'm driving down the road and BAM! Wegmans! Like a moth to a flame.... locating Wegmans is like a 6th sense I didn't even know I had. This Wegmans is located in a shopping center and every time that I have ever gone the parking lot is a zoo! Be prepared to park far away and be dodging carts like frogger all throughout the store. The store is nice and they do a pretty good job of keeping things stocked. However, I have been before when they were totally out of what I needed. Specifically a few days after New Year's it seemed like they were having trouble keeping things on the shelves. I also think that their prices are high for certain items. But you can find some pretty good deals if you're willing to buy their brands. In the fresh market area, they have a sub shop, pizza, sushi, hot bar, and a salad bar. I've lived in places where I didn't have a local Wegmans... and let me tell you, life is so much better with Wegmans! read more

Wegman's, or, as I originally called it, "Trader Joe's on Steroids". Yes, this is a very nice grocery store. Yes, they have amazing selections. To be honest there are some Wegman's store brand items that are shockingly priced lower than the national brand - for example, sweetened condensed milk - national brand $2.39, Wegman's brand $1.69!!! That is nuts. Some things disappoint, such as the cheese shop. While they have a good selection of cheeses it's not quite up to par with a Whole Foods' cheese department. Several good domestic cheesemakers are shoved out by OK foreigners. (Ex: Wegman's does not carry Sartori cheese, the best domestic Italian cheesemaker in the US.) I've had some of the bakery items go stale on me the next day, and the prepared sushi is overpriced and not that great. At the same time the national brand prices can be overkill, and some of the store brand prices are excessive. I really love the Wegmans ginger beef udon noodles from the frozen department but for $6.99 I barely get enough in the bag for two people. They do have an awesomely stocked international foods section, although one of my British friends mentioned they stopped carrying Marmite, which upset him a lot. Trying to park here is an exercise in itself. They do have parcel pickup if you don't want to carry your groceries out to your car on your own, but I've never used it. I've had a mixed experience returning items - I was once scolded for bringing back a cheese sampler plate that I just did not like, and got a little sass when I needed to exchange the large bag of chocolate chips for the smaller bag I intended to purchase. It's not like Costco or Trader Joe's - I have brought two day old moldy things back to TJ's and they don't even blink! read more

This Wegmans need much improvement with staff training. Starting from young cashiers and cart boys are rude, too busy on their phone. When customers ask questions, they lack the friendliness and welcoming attitude. Instead the customers are given a mean and annoyed attitude by the staff. I was again upset by the cashier who chucked the groceries into the bags and when asked if she can rubber band the berries, she gave a nasty stare.
