This Wegmans need much improvement with staff training. Starting from young cashiers and cart boys are rude, too busy on their phone. When customers ask questions, they lack the friendliness and welcoming attitude. Instead the customers are given a mean and annoyed attitude by the staff. I was again upset by the cashier who chucked the groceries into the bags and when asked if she can rubber band the berries, she gave a nasty stare. I have complained to the management before but I guess the store is too busy to care. My experience at abingdon location has always been constant with friendly and helpful staff. read more

My FAVOURITE grocery market . I wish they have one in Pasadena , California where I lived . Every time I visit here, I go Wegman for all my food. Fresh juice, fruits and hot food . Not to mention all the bakeries oh yum yum . Lines are fast too . Just great . read more

I have such a love for grocery stores and Wegman's is among my favorites. Bf and I stopped off here for a quick bite to eat before heading to the wine festival at nearby Oregon Ridge Park. The $6 and $10 lunch options were great. I loved the mashed potatoes. The mac & cheese could be cheesier, but I still ate it. Bf enjoyed his crab cake (I had a few bites and thought it had a good amount of lump crab in it). We later stopped by to pick up some ingredients I needed to make key lime pie. It was fairly easy to find what I needed. This store is HUGE! If it weren't for how tired I was and that we still had a 1.5 hour drive back to DC, I would have stayed longer and inevitably spent more money. read more

Wegman's make food shopping fun. It's a happening shopping venue. The prices are great always fresh seafood, bakery and produce. They have a made to order sushi baras well as a kosher deli. I enjot their bagels and smears. After a movie go enjoy a latte and sweet treat from the bakery. We've even have dinner at Wegman's ,upstairs has tables and chairs to enjoy your assorted food chinese buffet bagels pizza we've eaten it all. enjoy. read more

Great supermarket with loads of interesting items not found in typical neighborhood grocery store. They have an awesome bulk food section with lots of candy and my personal favorite: gummy candies. Gummy bears, gummy worms, gummy tarantulas (ever wonder why gummy candies are either bears or insects? Why not gummy horses?). The ready-to-eat food selection is above average. The sushi is ok: nothing to write home about but at least the fish is fresh. The chinese food is really sweet or salty: typical western Chinese food. The pizza and subs are decent. The hot entrees can be hit or miss. Their baked goods are pretty good: they have a better variety of cupcakes than most other supermarkets. Not a bad place for a quick lunch or to do some grocery shopping, especially if you are looking for some high-end products. read more

I like wegmans. The cafe is what I venture here for. Have you had the sweet potato scallops? Heaven. I will be trying to make those at home. Huge pizzas at the cafe are good but greasy. It'd be nice to put wegmans in the city. I would have preferred them over moms organic that's being built t The Rotunda. Anyway. I like this grocery store read more

I go to this Wegmans for lunch quite often. Their sushi is awesome! It's always super fresh, and you can see them making it while you're picking out your selection. They also have an asian food bar, Italian food, Organic salad bar, pizza, subs, vegetarian bar. Great place to go with co-workers, because everyone can get something different if they want. Prices are also very reasonable. read more

Store is wonderful, just has some employees who have the worst attitude when it comes to asking questions. Specifically two older woman that work around the cheese section. Horrible customer service, and I've been coming here for years! read more

I love Wegmans, at least Wegmans in New York. This Wegmans is kind of small and the selection is oddly enough, limited. I like all the stuff I can get in New York such as Sabrett Hot Dog Onions and Zwiegel Hot Dog Sauce. Most stores will special order stuff for you but this one won't. On the flip side, they do have excellent meats and produce plus the best milk prices around. The cashier team is always friendly and so is the restaurant staff. read more

Wegmans - Grocery Near Me - Hunt Valley, Maryland

My goodness. The roommates and I spent something like 2 hours at Wegman's this afternoon. I'm now totally drained and much much poorer.. but well worth the shlep. I almost gave it 3 stars, but only because it's kind of overwhelming. I realized that too many options is not something I can blame them for! I won't do a things I liked/things I didn't like sections, but I have to say that the food is a little overpriced, but the selection is unbelievable. So much food, and so little time! Will write an update once I've recovered from the expedition. read more

IS THERE A BETTER GROCERY STORE THAN WEGMANS? -NO SInce this place opened a couple years ago people from all over the northern part of MD and southern Penn come here to their grocery shopping. Its FILLED with everything that you could possibly want. My favorite part of the store is the bulk candy and other treats that are at your dispense. Lots of tasty prepared foods for the people on the go, sushi, chicken, chinese food bar, pizza, and subs made to order. Wegmans has it all. read more

On dinner and a movie night, this is generally the place where I come with my friends for the dinner. Sure, there's CPK, chipotle, and whole butch of other options. But this place has some many options and they're all so good! Also great, the $6 dollar meals. Forget $5 foot longs; there needs to be a $6 dollar meal commercial. Sing it with me! 6! 6 DOLLAR! 6 DOLLAR ME-ALS! yayaY Corny i know but the food there inspires me to do the good food dance. The shopping's great too! My fav. item is the pre-seasoned meat. There's a one-serving chicken breast or beef pack and a two- serving pack. They make cooking during the week easier. Come visit read more

Nerd alert: I love grocery stores. And if we're being real, Wegman's is honestly the best grocery store in the area. They have all of the products in a regular grocery store- and more! Hot buffet food, a really good bakery, and the BEST produce section I've ever seen. I really wanted to give this place five stars because of the quality and the service, but because it's so good, it's crazy crowded most days. Godspeed if you try to run in and grab something on a Saturday afternoon- your best bet is the self-check out registers all the way to the left! Also, they have a "shoppers club" like many other grocery stores- you must be a member to get discounts, but you don't earn points or rewards. read more

I like this store better than its Hunt Valley sibling. It's a bit smaller and much easier to find what you need. Wegmans pizza is top notch. This is the best place to get fresh fish and obscure cheeses. The "cafeteria" food is great. But they need to be more community friendly with all their unused community room space. Throwing out your customers is not a god business practice! read more

Wegmans has been my go-to grocery store for going on three years. In fact, it was one of the reasons I moved to the suburb I ended up in (yes, other people move because of schools, I move because of produce..) The store is huge, significantly larger than most grocery stores in the Baltimore region. For that, it is fully stuffed with everything that a cook needs. From the fresh fish department, featuring both local and "imported" (Alaska) seafood, to the meat department staffed by people with a clue on how to butcher, to the vast selection of international goodies and specialty foods, there is something for everyone. My highest recommendations here are the fresh foods. The fish is always good, with a changing seasonal selection featuring fresh Alaska salmon, swordfish, Ches-Bay ray, and other fin-bits. Meats are massive and usually good, the deli has a nice assortment beyond the usual cooked ham, and the bakery is very good, if a little pricey. The store further has a food court offering a great variety of food, from pizza to deli and Indian. Good for a quick lunch if you are in the area. Another plus, and this is a big one, are the membership benefits. Beyond discounts, the store will send you a quarterly recipe book, most of which are actually really good, as well as frequent coupons for seasonal items or new arrivals. If, like me, you like to experiment with food, this will keep you happy throughout the year. The one downside, and this is only from time to time, is the fruit and vegetable section. Usually it's great, with a good variety, but sometimes it seems that the supply runs do not come in right, leaving a lot of just-on-the-cusp lettuce and other greens. A follow-up run the next day usually gets you what you need, but it can get annoying. An excellent grocery store, probably to be unmatched for a long time in the Baltimore area. read more

Wegmans has been the store to fill up my pantry for the past 4 years. I very much enjoy the fresh fish and meat department and the well stocked deli counter which even carries some of the varieties I miss from my German home.Anything you need from pots and pans to cooking gadgets is available. The staff is extremely helpfull and knowledgable and they go out of their way to find you items which are temporarely not on the shelfs. There is just one point I like to make. I like the 7 grain sourdough bread and so do obviously a lot of other people. However due to work I usually get there on Fridays at about 6.15 pm and many times this particular bread is out. Everythings else is there but the other breads are really not to my liking. The store is open until 12.00 midnight and it would not seem to be such a pig problem to bake up a few more batches of the 7grain for admirers of this bread who can not make it in earlier in the day . Something to think about Wegmans? read more

I love the produce, cheeses and seafood... I have mixed reviews on the staff: Deli and Cashiers = Awesome. Cheese, Bakery and Seafood = Sorry I Interrupted Your Busy Day. I will add that the Pharmacy Staff are pretty awesome in their own right :) read more

I could not disagree more with Bradley. I'm sorry but comparing Wegmans to Trader Joes and WalMart is not exactly apples to apples. And I love Trader Joes, but really? The store has 5 aisles! Wegmans is the best grocery store I've ever seen-if they don't sell it here, are you sure it really exists?? You really can find everything here. Every kind of bread, every kind of cheese, wine, make-up, hair products, gluten-free foods, items from around the world, anything and everything you could need in the kitchen. If you're not impressed by Wegmans, I don't know what you're looking for. I think their prices are very good, considering all the awesome things they offer. This shopping center is quite good too-Chipotle, Caribou, DSW, Burlington, California Pizza Kitchen, and Noodles & Company-to name a few. read more

Can you love a grocery store? This place has got everything and isn't overpriced. From the usual produce, meats, and snacks, to aisles of large selections in organics, vegan free, ethnic foods, spices, etc. There's a wide selection of cheese, a bakery section, even a prepared food section that a lot of people frequent during the weekday. Its too bad there isn't a Wegmans here on the west coast. read more

When I was in college, there was a Wegmans about an hour or so away that we would ALWAYS stop at if we were road-tripping through the area. As such, you would not have believed my excitement when I found out there was a Wegmans not even a mile down the road from my new place of residence. Simply put, they have everything, and yes this includes an ample selection of international/gluten-free/vegan/health-conscious foods. I like this aspect of the store because I get to buy interesting stuff (only if it's on sale though, because let's be real - those niche foods are $$$ otherwise), but don't have to go more than a couple aisles over to buy all the run-of-the-mill groceries that constitute the majority of my order. Of course, the best part about Wegmans is the quasi food court they have, so you can just grab lunch or dinner right in house if you want to avoid the famous "oh no I shopped hungry and now look at all this food" predicament that has inevitably happened to all of us at some point. To summarize, this place is legit. It's not just a grocery store, it's Wegmans. read more

(01/22/2011) You know how they tell you not to go grocery shopping while you're hungry? Sometimes we make an event out of heading out Wegman's for groceries. It's like the Disney World of Food. They have weigh places like salad, Asian food, hot food bars, and made-to-order places like pizza, sushi, deli subs. Basically, if they sell it in the store, they've prepped it for you to eat in the Cafe. Kind of ingenious, like making you pay for store samples, then hooking you (so you can go over to Aisle 7 and buy that bag of frozen Wegman's gyoza or mini-samosas for your next dinner party). The quality is what you would expect from a Wegman's (high), and the prices pretty much match (beforewarned, food weighs more than you think). read more

The best grocery shopping experience of any place I visit. The options are endless and their organic sections are awesome. Their store brand is superior quality. I drive 25 minutes to shop here and excited to have one opening in Columbia soon. Their company philosophy is sweet. They have never laid anyone off. EVER. If I had endless money, I would only shop here. However, that is not the case and I need to shop at Costco as well. read more

Clean, well organized and very nice selection. The prepared dishes are good and the dining area is great for kids. Large seafood and meat market. It gets very crowded and can make for an unpleasant shopping exlerience. I suggest going in the early morning. Produce is hit or miss. Overall it's a nice place to shop. Especially if you are gluten free or enjoy fresh seafood. read more

Sorry to have to write this but reality rules. At one point, Wegmans was my absolute first choice "go to" store for both food and many household supplies. Over the past couple of years, they have drifted downward in my opinion to "if it is convenient and/or have something that I cannot find elsewhere" The primary reason for this change is an absolute tidal wave of house brands, typically of marginal quality, that have pushed many of my favorites off the shelves. In addition although there is a long rank of checkouts at the front of the store, they are sparsely manned and checking out is tedious. It is the case that any system can operate well under optimum conditions but the real test of its quality is under stress. The current situation has stressed Wegmans and they have failed miserably. Why are they are long lines waiting to get in? Because, under current restrictions people have to leave before more can be admitted. Why are people slow to leave? Because, when you add "social distancing" to an already mismanaged checkout system, it is hard to get out of the store! Now let us look at another side of it. I am a card-carrying participant in the age-related vulnerable class. I looked into their "pick up" and delivery options. The website was not the easiest to navigate but I am reasonably computer savvy and managed to assemble an order. Before getting to the checkout I noted that, in very fine print, was a provision that item prices might be different for those options versus in-store shopping. Yes, they certainly were. I did not do the calculation but gained the impression that a 10 to 20% premium was being charged. In addition, there was a delivery charge, several unexplained fees and an included tip for the driver. (Delivery was the only option, pick up slots were not available for the foreseeable future) the bottom line? A $90 order turned into a $120 order! Now, I expect to pay something for convenience but a 33% increase? That tells me all I need know about the company. Where does Wegmans rank now on my little list? "Dead last and then, only in the case of a screaming emergency". read more

Wegmans in cockeysville is nice but it's NOTHING compaired to the Wegmans in upstate NY! So, I finally went to Wegmans today! Pros: Huge selection, a bagillion types of cheese, lots of non-grocery items to look at, friendly staff, large parking lot, not your average shopping trip! Cons: Snotty Hunt Valley people who have no clue how to say "excuse me", those same people blocking pretty much everything with their carts, (seriously, get over yourselves), and it's really easy to get lost in here - which wouldn't be such a bad thing if 99% of the customers weren't so horribly rude. Yuck! I'll be back though - despite the long-ish drive from the city! This place is pretty impressive. read more

I can't really add anything to this review that others haven't already covered. Wegman's is, indeed, as good as it gets. I had honestly forgotten this place, and I can't imagine why I did - the selection here is incredible, and the prices really aren't as bad as a lot of people have complained about. This is the only place that I know of that I can find a lot of exotic or unknown ingredients for recipes, but then turn the corner and get a plain can of green beans for 49 cents. The hot bar(s) are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I nom-nom'd at the vegetarian section - I just could not help myself. Watch the amounts you take, though - this stuff is 8.50 a pound and it adds up FAST. You will not be able to choose, trust me. I counted at least 5 separate bars with everything you could think of, including dim sum, Thai, vegetarian, a soup bar and pizza. Unbelievable. The hot bar selection alone deserves a 5-star rating. I like the fact that Wegman's really emphasizes cooking and fresh food - they have such a variety that you really could go totally organic if you wanted to. There's an entire section dedicated to natural and health foods, a specialty cheese bar, a great deal of international foods... shall I go on? Do I need to? I do agree with the reviewer that says the size of the store is overwhelming, especially to those coming in for the first time. My boyfriend didn't really seem to know what to make of the place, though he later said that he really liked it a lot. I also agree with the statement about pretty rude people here - I accidentally ran up on someone with my basket and was VERY apologetic, even asked if she was okay, but she just glared at me like I'd done it deliberately. Sheesh, lady - ease up, I said I was sorry. Day-am. (eyeroll) I LOVE the deli kiosks - it's so much easier to tap in what I want, get a ticket, and just roll by and pick it up from the bin at my convenience instead of standing in line with the masses and waiting. For a crowd hater like me, that's perfect. If you haven't tried Wegman's, go! If you don't have one, you're missing out for sure. read more

Absolutely one of my favorite places to shop! They have an incredible selection of produce and foods from around the world but also your everyday stuff too, like Tide laundry detergent. Their cheese department is phenomenal and if you have a recipe that calls for a weird ingredient, you'll probably find it at Wegman's. If you happen to go when you are hungry, you will find a great selection of "on-the-good" foods that you can either eat upstairs in their lounge or outside on the patio. Be careful when you go because this place is packed on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. If you are going just to wander around, go in the early morning of later in the evening and you'll be able to take everything in. read more

I hate grocery shopping but Wegmans is heaven. I absolutely love it. Prices are great (sometimes it's better to penny pinch by looking through ads for certain items to be cheaper say at Walmart or Target- cleaning supplies, foil, etc) I HATE most store brands like Walmart brand and such but Wegmans brand is absolutely wonderful. I totally trust their brand knowing I am getting the SAME quality and taste as say Oreos or Green Giant corn. The new carts however SUCK! If you have anger problems or panic attacks...do not go during lunch hours. The carts are massive, the shoppers can be downright nasty so you will be sitting in the corner in the fetal position! lol read more

I'm from upstate NY and I'm extremely spoiled since I grew up with wegmans. I used to live in Towson and would come to this wegmans once per week but after continuing to come here and now going to others in the MD area, I do feel like it is lacking. I think this location might even be bigger than Columbia and the inventory seems to run out pretty fast. I eat a specialty diet, no gluten or dairy and I had a hard time finding products that I normally eat. I could go to a small wegmans in upstate NY and find these products, but for some reason, nothing here. For example things that I couldn't find were- organic butter (or cultured organic butter), any nancys product (cottage cheese or cream cheese), they were out of daiya cheese and didn't have my favorite non dairy kefir. This wegmans is not worth the hassle with the parking and the crazy lot. The one thing that I do know about wegmans is that they are a great company and know their market. It is possible that there isn't a market for these products here, but either way, I now stick to different locations. read more

At first, I wasn't all that impressed with Wegmans. Yes, it's big, but it seemed to lack a lot of variety in things I normally buy. Then I walked up and down the aisles. Aisles big enough for two carts to pass each other. An entire area of cookware, dishes and kitchen gadgets. A huge bakery. Gelato. It's got a lot of stuff. Sadly, though, it has a very small Asian food section...although, that said, it's still larger than any in other stores here (besides H-Mart, of course). Where it's pretty impressive is that section dedicated to take away and prepared meals. Their $7.99 Chinese and Indian food buffet is pretty extensive. And they do okay with sushi as well. They'll also walk you out to your car if you feel uncomfortable doing so by yourself. I like that. It may come in handy as winter sets in and it gets darker earlier. read more

We stayed in this area while in town for a wedding. This place was our breakfast spot at least 2 or three times in a week. They have everything you could want here. Bakery and deli is amazing. I had breakfast croissants as well as almond croissants several times. They have a seating area for dining in downstairs as well as upstairs. The upstairs is nice for people watching while you eat. Their travel size section also has a vast selection of items. They even carry higher end brands in travel size. I wish they had one in the South! read more

I must admit that when I travel, I will usually stop at a Wegman's...if it is convenient. Why? The quality of the products, the cleanliness of the store, and the availability of good, ready-to-eat foods. Most of the Wegman's now have a redesigned bathroom that is usually quite clean and has some enhanced family facilities. While the bathroom facilities at this store were very clean, they did not have the enhancements. it isn't a knock against them, I have just been spoiled, read more

Wegmans creates a Guest Experience with little effort. Just the sheer variety and store layout is enough. With an organic section similar to Whole Foods with a better pricing structure. Along with an international section spanning multiple aisles, giving the regular Guest a true experience of that particular country. Truly unmatched. The Market Cafè is a step back in time to when markets had great bakeries, prepared foods and restaurants. They do this with a town home feel. read more

My husband and I , went to Hunt Valley to check out the new Home-good store in Hunt Valley which is huge and amazing . We decided to do some shopping at Wegmans. First and foremost , their produce is just fresh and the best . Their variety of breads even better . Their family packs of meat are such a great deal . They have fresh squeezed orange juice that is worth every penny . I love their lunch meats . I usually get their mortadella which is large and has pistachios in it. Wegmans has great service and their employees are very respectful and helpful . read more

This is sort of like Whole Foods, but allegedly less expensive. However, they also have a pretty decent food court, which serves prepared foods such as sushi and sandwiches. I personally wanted a panini, but they don't seem to have that, opting for mostly cold foods (plus pizza). It seemed to be pretty packed, so most people didn't appear to mind this. I did notice that they have both a kosher deli and a regular deli - useful for an establishment in Baltimore. My tuna sandwich was good, if not earth-shattering. I think that it was about $6 for a torpedo roll-style sandwich. Once you purchase your food, you can sit upstairs at the dining tables. Overall, a pretty good lunch environment, and the selection will make most people happy (except for my turkey of a girlfriend who got just a small cup of pasta salad and was hungry almost immediately afterward). read more

When it comes to reviewing Wegman's... well words cannot really describe the enormity of the place. I don't think I need to explain what a supermarket is, so let me get to the point. This place is big, really big, and they have a lot of stuff. By stuff I mean food, drinks, flowers, herbs, home products, etc, all the stuff. Their selection is really mind boggling, especially in their unique sections like international. Normally to buy a tomatillo, Goya coconut milk, serano chili, and fabric softener you'd have to drive all over the place. Wegman's has it all in one place so you don't have to search around. They also have their own brand which is actually pretty good. I normally don't trust generic products but theirs are good, and have clear labeling that I wish the brand name stuff would use. And then there's the food court area. They have a fairly massive section with things like a deli, sushi, Asian buffet, pizza, cheeses, seafood, and gourmet salads all in a big L shaped ring. There are usually all sorts of free samples for you to try, and when you decide on something, you can go up on the mezzanine and watch the ensuing chaos below while you eat. Wegman's has a great model that's sure to please every shoppers' needs. Check it out! read more

I don't know why I don't shop here more often. I guess I've always had the impression that it's kind of far from downtown Baltimore, but it's really no further up Rt 83 than say Towson Town Center, which I frequent for my retail therapy sessions. Wegmans is enormous. Not to mention it is also next to a retail shopping center so you can get your retail therapy fix and grocery shopping done all in one stop! I could probably spend all day in Wegman's if I wanted to. There are aisles and aisles of produce. You're supposed to weigh out and print price labels for your produce prior to checking out, which totally brings back childhood memories of pretending to be a grocery store cashier and making my mom buy all the plastic produce toys that I had. Aside from all the grocery items, almost half of the store is dedicated to prepared food items. I've been to Wegmans just to eat lunch. There are so many kinds of food to try--from sushi and Asian stir fry to pizza and subs. There's also a wide selection of premarinated meats, which would be great for grilling in the summer time. Wegmans is like Whole Foods without the expensive prices. Love it. read more
