The Fresh Market: Hanging With Mom -- Went In for One Thing, Left With Two Bags…read more Takeaway: I planned for one item. Mom planned for a full‑cart expedition. The Fresh Market bakery planned my financial downfall. I'd always wanted to try The Fresh Market, and since Mom and I were close to the Gambrills, Maryland location, we decided to stop in. The mission was simple: get one thing. I even grabbed the small carry cart to prove I was serious. That was mistake number one. The moment we walked in, Mom stopped at the very first display like she had been hired to inspect it. That's when I realized she set me up. I picked the wrong cart, and she knew it. The store itself was impressive -- bright, clean, and packed with every food item known to mankind. Honestly, it was a little too packed. Every aisle felt like it was competing for "Most Stuff in One Space." But everything looked fresh: Meat Seafood Produce All looked like they were posing for a magazine. The Bakery: The Trap We Walked Into The bakery was the star of the store -- managed by a Black woman who was professional, friendly, and on point. She stopped what she was doing to check on us, and that's when the trouble began. The bakery was loaded with: Cakes Cupcakes Cookies Desserts that looked illegal And they were running a sale. A dangerous, wallet‑threatening sale. Mom and I stood there for what felt like hours, mouths watering, debating desserts like we were choosing stocks. We bought way too many. I blame the sale. And the frosting. And the smell. And the display. Basically everything. The Full Store Tour (Thanks to Mom) Mom and her walker inspected every single section of the store. Every. Single. One.I'm convinced she saw things the employees didn't know existed. By the time we reached checkout, my carry cart was overflowing like I had robbed the place. Another Black woman walked us to her register -- also professional, also engaging, also packing our bags like she was building a sculpture. She explained the discounts we received, which made the total hurt a little less. We walked out with two full bags, my hands full, and my "one item" dream shattered. Final Verdict The Fresh Market delivered: Great products Great staff Great bakery Great discounts And a great reminder that I should never trust myself with a small cart We'll definitely be returning...but next time, Mom might have to stay in the car

The way that everything is laid out, makes absolute sense! It makes for a really good shopping experience. Think, Wegman's or Whole Foods, but on a smaller scale and much easier to navigate. The produce is wonderful, the flowers are lovely, and we've purchased a few cool speciality items, but I think my favorite part of this market is the bakery! Freshly baked/prepared, huge variety and everything I've tasted is delicious!!! The staff is courteous and friendly and they always have enough staff situated at the cash registers. Now, it can be a bit pricey, but I'll pay for quality, each and every time. If you're in the area, stop in and browse around. Pretty certain you'll find something you need!

Customer service usually hold it for me until I can pick it up. Their Pharmacy team is amazing from pharmacist assistant manager, Miss Theresa Theresa, pharmacist manager, Mr. Sesay, Miss Melody, Pharmacy staffer Miss Sade, Pharmacy staffer. The ambience of this store is amazing. I love the fact that everyone is so friendly even if you walk in the Giant and don't know anyone they are all here to help. They even donate their food to any of the homeless who are in need of food that come in the store and sometimes can solicit customers for a dollar or something. Usually one of the Customer Service people will take that homeless person over to the side and bring them a hot meal and or allow them to get maybe three items that they need and that Giant Stafford will pay for it so that they can have something to drink and something to eat. I think that that is beautiful. This Giant is completely is completely about kindness, compassion, and Community. This is my favorite giant food store and I love the fact that they're always supporting some charity Saint Jude American Heart Association feed the Hungary donating to their local food pantries helping kids with school supplies. I love that they have a raffle every school year beginning of the school year. I have one maybe 3 raffles and I donated all of the materials back to the Giant because I no longer have a child who's in school he's now at university so when one year one a basket full of school supplies which I donate it right back to the Giant the following year I want Thanksgiving all turkey Thanksgiving box dinner which I donated it back to the Giant because I didn't need it and then one raffle I won tickets to see the Orioles play baseball and I donated those tickets back to the Giant and they could give them to whomever they want. I told them the 251st person that walked through the store could have those tickets and they did that and I am assuming that they enjoyed themselves at the game. I don't know. I did not go. I just love this Giant kindness Community compassion.

It's so clean and spacious! I've found that Trader Joe's takes time to keep their stores well stocked and organized, and this location stands true. I was limited on time, but I picked up some favorite treats and some new recommendations, too. Looking forward to trying the Authentic Lemon Curd, Coconut Cashew Candy Clusters, and the Strawberry Brioche Style Liege Waffles! I've heard great reviews! I was also thrilled to see the 8 gal. lavender purple insulted bag, and not only the regional Maryland state reusable bag, but also the regional Delaware state reusable bag to add to my TJ bag collection! Score! My cashier (W, Jordan per my receipt) was a friendly young man who was helpful in pointing out the 'Diamond State' Delaware reusable bag when I told him I wanted to also purchase a couple of bags with my treats. I like how TJ's offers the reusable bag for adjacent states. Perfect for collectors like myself. I'm grateful to my cashier for taking time to properly bag my new treats. Thank you, Trader Joe's for employing thoughtful, knowledgeable, and helpful staff.

They're a weird 3rd space presence of rude unpleasant bulky obstacles with excessively large carts that linger and block the aisles making it challenging and frustrating to access groceries and move about store. And they act like you are in THEIR way. If modern life wasn't already impersonal enough, they make the grocery shopping experience even more impersonal. They are rude, always have a mean unhappy RBF expression. They have a rushed urgency about them that makes the store feel hectic. It's obvious they don't want to be there. They don't want to talk to you. They're not technically employees that you can ask questions. They park their cart blocking groceries and its not obvious who's huge cart that is to ask them to move. They just bring a negative funk to the whole place. And to top it off most of them are likely not people who would regularly shop at Whole Foods. Amazon has introduced a whole other socioeconomic demographic of non-customers/non-employees present in the store changing the atmosphere overnight. I'd wager there are as many Amazon shoppers as regular customers they are the majority in the store. Its a take over! the store is unwelcoming to regular customers. I am absolutely tired of dodging these mean unhappy non-employee non-customers interfering with my ability to get groceries. Final straw, I'm done with whole foods
